"The Princess and the Queen" (HOTD S1EP6) (ACOIAF #6)

Hey everyone, welcome back! Fiona and Emma here, ready to dive into the juicy drama of "House of the Dragon" Episode 6. Buckle up because we've got a ten-year time jump, new faces, and a whole lot of dragon fire to discuss. First up, let's talk about this time leap. Ten years, people! That’s like graduating high school and then some. We’ve got a recast Rhaenyra and Alicent, and let’s just say, the tension between these two is thicker than dragon scales. Seriously, if looks could kill, the Red Keep would need a new queen every other scene. The secrets, the lies, the whispered conversations in dark hallways—it’s like Westeros has turned into one giant episode of "Gossip Girl." Now, speaking of dragons, finally, we get some serious dragon action! It’s about time, right? We’ve got them swooping, breathing fire, and reminding everyone who’s really in charge. It’s like the show's reminding us, “Hey, remember the title?” So, whether you're team Rhaenyra or Alicent, you can't deny the epicness of these winged wonders. So, grab your goblet of wine (or hot cocoa, no judgment), and get ready for more fire and fury in the episodes to come.

Keep it Unreal
But our children, but a weakness, a folly, a futility. Through them, you imagine you cheat the great darkness of its victimy. You would persist forever in some form or another, as if they would keep you from the dust. But for them you surrender what you should not. You may know what is the right thing to be done, but. Love stays the hand. Love He's it down for me. Best to make your way through life and encumbent. If you ask me. Welcome to the Unreal Hour. Hello, and welcome to our show. I'm Fiona and I'm Emma. So this week we are covering episode six, The Princess and the Queen. The episode was directed by Miguel Sapotchnik. It was of course written by Ryan Condall and Chamine de Gratti and also in this episode we have Sarah hess on the writing crew. Sarah is known for House MD, a couple episodes of Oranges, The New Black, and Deadwood, all fantastic shows that I have loved. Yeah, so in this episode, there was a massive change to the opening credits. Yeah, there's a lot of new character. There, certainly is so, and what we didn't notice was that there has been changes to the opening credits already since we first looked at them. So there was a tiny change in episode three in which a couple of extra bloodlines were added to alison sigill are coming out of Allison's Sidgil, and then again in episode five indicating that she had more children. But those were minor changes that were barely noticed. But for this episode, with our ten year time jump, there is a massive new intro, So let's just have a wee look at how that breaks down. So instead of following King Visseric's blood right away, we take a d chair through Damon's cog. The prince is represented by his warrior Hell. Two blood dreams come out of Damon's cog, representing the ladies Bela and Raina. The girl's streams are also fed with the blood coming out of Lady Lena's sigil. The girls sigels look like dragon eggs and they appear right before Rania's. Something interesting happens with the bloodstream that should connect Ranidas to the father of her children, but instead of mixing with len Our's or Sir Harwin's, the line goes beneath a box, indicating the doubts surrounding the true parentage of the young Jase, and look the sigils of the two boys appear right out of the box. And yeah, that basically concludes our breakdown of the changes. Really cool. Yeah, so you've got this a little bit where the the boys's parentage is shrouded in mystery. Like the way they've represented that's really cool. So, yeah, some changes. The way the article goes on to explain the later changes, we'll just add. Them an episode by episode. So I'll just leave the rest of that just now, so there'll be all we update next week and then another one I think in episode nine. Excellent, So onto the episode. What were your overall thoughts, Emma? And there's a lot going on in this episode. It's all becoming very Game of Thrones. Certainly is isn't it? Loved it? A lot of death dragons and a lot of backstabbing. Oh god, like the politics and backstabbing comments, Absolutely no, it is. It's very intense. There's a lot to Not only is there a lot happening, but there's a big ten year time jump to fill in, so we feel like we're relearning these characters. It's less like the middle of a series and more like a sequel five years later from a movie you've just that you've loved, and then they bring out this sequel and you're trying to remember what they used to be like but time has passed and figure out what's happened in between. So very interesting, so sort of thing that you're used to not only in a like a movie sequel, but from season to season. Absolutely not in the middle of the season. Yeah, So it's very I love it. I love it. It was very daring, I feel to do that, and having read that chat to the book and being better in mind that from the opening, the opening episode right up until Viceers's death is only one chapter of this book, but the period of the ten years, the only thing that really happens in those few paragraphs is they just said, well, Damon had this child and then Nina had that child, and so I can see why they just yeah, ten years jumped it so clever. So we've got lots of new characters. Said so the recasting first, do you want to take this? Yeah? Sure, So we have Emma Darcy as Rania, John McMillan as Lenor, and Olivia Cook as Alison. And I really feel with those three actors that they've chosen. It's great casting. The similarities are fantastic. Oh yeah, oh, the facial expressions with their younger counterpart. I think the casting was really really good and obviously the acting, Yeah, it's fantastic. Yeah no, I thought all three of them are absolutely brilliant. Olivia cook Is looks so much like young Amili Carey. I had to look twice and think about it. You know, it's not possible. I remember this time around I knew, but first time round watching it, I thought. Is that the same person? Have they have? They just made her up to little Yeah? Yeah, yeah, definitely I thought that too. It's it's fantastic casting, but not just not just because they look alike, but the actors are absolutely fantastic and Lena as well. John McMillan is fabulous. I do have to say though, I will miss Millie Olcock. Oh. I think that girl is a fantastic actress and she really played the part of Nia so well. I hope they find a way in future season and have like a memory flashback that yeah, because she was brilliant. Her sass was just out of this world. Love her, so I'm definitely going to miss her and Emily Carey as well. Yeah, she she's what a wonderful actress she is. She was, she she is. She's not, she's not still very much. But yeah, let's just pay tribute to the actors gone from from the show because they will be missed, but their their counterparts are fantastic. They are. Do you have any more? Yeah, we will. The Lady Lena was played by Nana Blondell. Oh, fantastic, what a lovely name. Beautiful name and for a beautiful lady. Yeah, really suits her, Yes, definitely. And so this is like the third Lena we've had now, Yeah, and absolutely stunning as the two earlier ones were as well. Loved her, absolutely loved her. Sad that we won't be saying much more of her, but we shall save that for later in the episode. So onto the new cast. So we have, first of all, we have Runier's children. We have the young Jace or Jacaris was player traded by Leo Hart. We have Luke as he is Harvey Sadler, and the young Geoffrey was born in this episode and I have no idea who the baby is that plays him. He did that great job. We also have Allison's children, so this version of Eggon is played by Ty tenants. Son. Yes, well he's adopted his son. He's married to his mother and he but at some point he adopted. So yeah, that's David Tennant's son and there so he must be so proud that his opening scenes and a major TV show thinking. Out a window A lot of brave young man. Oh definitely. And do you know what, I'm actually going to throw in our first clip right here, because the way we usually do our episodes is, you know, breaking it down by plot line, and that I feel like this little scene was just extra to the main plot lines that we're discussing, and then I'm scared we're going to miss it, so I'm going to throw it in. Now, whose idea was it the big Was it your plot? It was Jace and it was the two of them. Can't we sure Emmon is your brother? You may coughing about as you wish at home, but in the world we must defend around. It was funny. Do you think we're now at Sun's would be your believe things? Forever as things stand, Vena will ascend the throne and just save as Targarian will be her. So you are nearly a man grown. How is it that you can be so short sighted? If Rania comes into power, your very life could be forfeit. Emmens as well. She can move to cut off any challenge to her succession. You are the challenge. You are the challenge Egon simply by living and breathing. She are the king's firstborn son. And what they know, what everyone in the realm knows in their blood and in their bones. Is that one day you will be our king. Oh no, that slap is so much more entense when it's just ade was an in seeing there, wasn't it. Yeah, that was a proper mumrow. Oh big time. You see how much Alison firmly believes everything that her father was trying to teach her in the last episode. Now she believes that with every fire over her en that they're coming for her. She's going to have to play the game or they are coming for her. And she's so stressed and frustrated she's taking it out on kids. But I mean, he's a bit of a twat. He's calling his brother a twat, and I'm going. Well, but I'm minner over there, pal. Yeah, she's writing what she's saying though, look, although you think it's a twat and you can come about all you like, now we have to stick together in public. Yes, yeah, definitely, And you can't be like, you know, ganging up on your little brother with those kids, of all kids, you know, one day they may be your enemies. In fact, it's highly likely that they will. Yeah. So yes, it was. An interesting scene and I didn't want it to go and missed amongst all the other stuff that happened, because it was a very eventful episode. It was so I felt like this was the best place to pop it in. Moving on, in other new characters, we have Princess Helena, who was portrayed by ev Allen, And I thought Helena's character is really interesting because a prophecy, right, we know that that Danny's the dreamer, foresaw the doom, and we know that Agon had this dream of a song of ice and fire. Yeah, and I believe that Helena is the next next prophet in the family. She's so cookie and weird though, isn't she. She really is with that, but yeah, definitely so yeah, And she says that line when Allison's trying to convinced Amen that he will have a dragon one day and then she goes, I'll have to close an eye first, ye. So for show Adawan, I'm assuming that this is a rewatch for anyone that's listening and you know what we're talking about, and just in case you don't, I'm not going to say because that's the next So we also have the Young Amond Prince Amond played by Leo Ashton, and those. Are our main cast. We have a few other extras. We have Sir Carl Correy played by Artie Frauschen, Lord Alan Caswell who congratulated we need on the steps and I'm only mentioning him now because he is relevant to the story later, but this was his first appearance, so he's in there. We also had Prince Reggio Haratus, the Pento Damon was with who's played I Dean Nolan, and the Small Council. We had the Lord Jasper Well played by Paul Kennedy. We also had Grandmaster or Will played by Kurt Edgewayan. I think that's how you say that, but I'd like to point out at. This point that that means that during the time jump, Grandmeaster Mellows passed away and did not even get a mention, so he has a place in our IVP section. And we also in the credits we have Eric Cargill played by Luke Tittensor titten sore. That's the accent thing, isn't it. Tittensor right, Eric Cargill, And he was. Right. I was laughing at me because I said, didn't sort. It doesn't matter how old I get, I still laugh at it. Well it's a funny word, oh dear. So Eric Cargil, I don't even think he had a line in the episode, but he was in the credits and I saw him on screen, so he's getting to mention. This is the first time we see one of the Cargol twins. So that's all learning characters onto major plot lines. So the first and the biggest major plot line off this episode that dominates the most of the episode. I don't say it's biggest thing that happens, but it dominates the whole episode is the paintentage of Runider's children. Absolutely, and that opening scene. Wow, the birth scene go on Rinia. Oh absolutely she was. She was clearly every main but she was holding it so well. Absolutely, I've give him birth three times and I was not as composed and focused. I'd like to think I would be bad a C section. I'll never know. I'm going to put that I was a soldier. You were, yes, absolutely anyway, So yeah, that birth scene was absolutely intense. But it wasn't I like that, you know she was she was holding back and being like really strong through it because she's so many birth scenes were it's just all scream, scream, scream, and. Then healthy baby. But I feel like this episode because they did this this way to show this contrast between and normal. Labor and something not being right. Yeah, and I feel like that that the levels of intensity we were on purpose for to demonstrate that point. So yeah, that was quite intense. You got anything else about any other notes about that? No, just how the scene progresses that the minute the baby's born. Yeah, the queen wants to see the baby. Cord hasn't even been cut after birth, isn't even out, and she's like, okay, right, I'll go then. Yeah, because you're not taking my baby away from. Me, and it's total I really like, Oh God's. Sake, something is like I thought we were done with this. Yeah, So yeah, it's clearly that this is an ongoing thing. The question around Bernida's children and Alison. Pushing she knows why she's summoned her. Oh yes, absolutely, they all do. Yeah, but God's sake. I mean, like that staircase that was. I just think the whole thing, from start to finish is hilarious. Her going from her chamber giving birth and to see Alison and Lenor is like trying to help. I think it cuts away. I think it's one continuous scene. Isn't it. Yeah, because princess, get your dressed up, just like, oh God. And then he's he's like tries to help her, and she's like, no, we've all been there. I don't need your help. And he's like, can you at least take my arm? Fine? And I just I love this whole conversation where he's like, was it terribly painful? And she's like I took a laance through the shoulder once. It's just like my deepest sympathy. And he just goes, I'm glad I'm not a woman. And no, he's so lovely, isn't he. He's like he's a bit dumb. He's all He's a all cousin, isn't it. He's just like, you're you're my mate? And my cousin. Yeah, and I want to help you because I love you and we've known each other since we. Were like you can see they are close. Absolutely, but there's no relationship husband and wife. They are like they're going through the motions in public, they are, but the bank closed doors are just best mates. Is such a gay man around earth? Oh god? Oh yeah I was. I was sorry. There was another one as well, and it's like, right, we're going to turn back and she's like, no, unless you want to carry me back down those fucking stairs. It's the look she gives up. It's like it's like, okay, I can't remember his exact response, but it was I'm going to. Shut the fuck up now, yeah, calling her, Oh definitely. So they go into the room and you know, Allison's oh, let me get you a cushion. Oh, princess, oh is it? How good of you to come, you know, as if she wasn't summoned. When then Visceeries comes in like the proud grandpa. It's the first time that Runia smiles when she says her dad yes, because yes, such a proud grandpa. Ya doesn't he? And then Alison has that dig leanne or sooner or later you might get one that looks like you. I love that she sits to her Dad liked it, just like I think I called the Midwife. I can't. Yeah, I forgot about that. Life brilliant. That's so cool. So yeah, then Lanor bursts out with we're. Calling him Geoffrey. That was awkward. Yeah, Nina was not happy about that. She wasn't happy. I think it was more that she wasn't happy. It wasn't discussed and I believe Sorry, I put the boots again, but he had been trying to get them all called Geoffrey and apparently Corliss was the one that shot down the first one, which sounds like he's about me. Yeah, I could see that. So yeah, that was a lovely, lovely scene. But lace with all this two faced backstabbiness and venom and like smiling through gretty teeth and there's a lot of that going on and we're only a couple of minutes in. It's brilliant. I know. I love it. I love when they're walking away. Yeah, and she's having that chat about you could consult me before you name my son, and you're like, well, is he not our son? And they have that chat and when they go off camera, trail of blood. Oh I didn't see that walking well, I remember from that moment. I think I might have just been laughing and she's like, yeah, I don't remember you bleeding or something along those lines. You're not the one who's bleeding, yeah, she said. And then yeah, when they go off camera, there's a trail of blood. Do you know. I think it was when she was walking up the stairs. I think I was looking for one. Yeah, on my first watch. I think I just forgot about it later and I didn't look when they were walking away, all right, So I wore there it was. It was appropriate for the scene. So that's absolutely looking for it. So yeah, fab And then so staying on topic, I'm not going to go scene by scene. I'm just going to stay on this topic for a while. So the next thing that happens all on this line is that Harwin meets the baby. I really really loved the wee comical bit where he said he was sleeping in front of the commander of the city. Watch terrible lack of respect a certain insulince runs in the family. I'm afraid it's a lovely scene between. Its adorable and the we half smiles that Ranina's shooting them. It absolutely feels like a mother and father their baby for the first time. Previous scene. Yeah, yeah, it was lovely. It was. He was absolutely smitt he was And I love like the coolness of the relationship between the three of them. Yeah, I loved it. Lennor was like, come on, boys, back to the dragon pit with you. Yeah, give them that moment together. And I love that when Vernina was like, Lenar, I think Harbin to like to say hello to the baby and he's like, oh right, yeah, it's like I forgot it's not mine, he's yours. But it was very, very sweet, and he clearly loves all three of his children. Yeah. So it's it's a shame that it all has to be behind closed doors and even the kids don't know, but. It is what it is. And well, by the end of the episode, they've certainly got their questions. And I'm not sure if it's that these questions were this is the first time these boys are hearing this this episode, you know the lines that we the audience here, Is this the first time the boys are hearing this, The first inkling they've had of any of it or it has it been whispered around them before? Well maybe Jace, Jace might have. Yeah. I think my opinion or what I've taken from it is just what we said about the relationship between the three of them. Yeah, I think those boys feel the love from their true father and something in there. He's my dad, Yeah, I know. He's my dad. Yeah, which is why by the end of the episode, jess Is he has to ask. It's just am I a bastard? He says, And she says, you're a targarian. That's all that matters. Yeah. I respect that she didn't like him. Yeah. Meanwhile, coming right back a bit so for Seri's and Alison, when they're discussing it and Allison's pushing that issue, it's. The first time that we see Alison bring the issue up and for series doesn't completely silence or freak out. Yeah, it's more of a conversational denial. I've put denial. Ish denialish because he knows the truth. He does know the truth, but he loves his daughter. I think it's in the next and I later seen that Allison says he knew the truth once. Oh wait, that's in the clip that I titled oh so much hate Kristin? So yeah, I have that? So what's he there? Have I lost my sanity? Sir Kristin? Do my senses leave me astray? Or is everyone else asleep dreaming the same wooly dream? Sometimes seems so. She flaunts the privilege of her inheritance without change. She expects everyone in their red keep to neither truth our eyes can. Or plainly see. And the King, her father knows. Of course, he knows, or did once, but has convinced himself otherwise he'll do not but make excuses for her. The Princess Rania is brazen and relentless, a spider who stings and sucks her parade dry. Come, oh dear, that's shocking. It's like, okay, so you got done. It was beneath me of grace and I apologize. Yes it was. Yeah, absolutely better much. And in the end on an indecency will prevail. Well made a hue to that unto each other, she is given off. Cercy Lanister vibes this whole episode. She really is? That really irks me that she's now a cunt because she dumped me. Yeah, that really fucks me. She has one eighty. That is toxic masculinity. It's fucking highest of the highest order. And it's like he was so nice and so is Allison, and now they're both feels so much resentment and hate and it's and then they're feeding off each other. And yeah, and when she says honesty and decency prevailing, Yeah, through what backstabbing and manipulation that's not honorable. Or decent exactly exactly. They're so miss guided by their. Bitterness, definitely, but like they were saying, but seris nos. But he's never going to admit it. And then he makes that little speech about the black mare that he once had with a silver stallion and produced a brown, unremarkable horse, and she. Says, did you physically see them mating? You know, like, as much as I'm like, oh, I can't shut up, let the series have his dream, right, But at the same time, it's a good answer. It was, And we actually have to bear in mind although it's bitterness that she now feels she's justified in her bitterness from what she's been through. Yeah, she's been used definitely, and and Rnia has been allowed to be in a loving relationship on the sly. Yeah, but she's had, she had no love exactly loves her, but she's never been in love. No Ever, she's grown to love him, and I think she do is the way she's you know, she's like settling him in his chair and looking after them and everything. Absolutely, but she's never been in love. And I would imagine that she's had to close her heart off so a lot of things because that's not something that she felt through her duty and honor and she was allowed to all. That love that she did have in her heart into being a mother. Eventually, she did struggle with that, didn't she what she did? She wasn't good with the young babies. She definitely didn't look comfortable with the babies in her arms. But you can see the older version of her how much she loves her children and they're all she's got. And I think that's where a lot of that frustration and that clip with the eggone yeah, comes from, because he's a bit of a twat and she needs something to wake up and be ready. H oh. Definitely, oh so so spoiled, and he only gets worse as the season goes on, and I imagine we'll see a bit of that next season too, as so yeah, the series nose, Alison and Kristen are so bitter and fill with so much hate. I think Kristin might be winning on the hate front there. Yeah, he's definitely feeling the fire. Misogynistic cunt anyway, moving on, I may edit that out. I may not. The next scene I suppose that we see that's relevant to this topic is in the courtyard, the training yard. Kristin treats ni as kids very differently to Alison's. He does, and they're so small. It's yeah, I like that. How was there to call it out? I think he's very patient and diplomatic to begin with. Yes he was, he absolutely was, and the series and lion Or watching the whole thing as well, Harwin points out, it's like, you know, I think you could just you know, treat them both fair equally, maybe gives some of the other the other boys a little bit of instruction instead of just focusing on the ones you like. And then he pairs Jace with Agone and you even see it in Besseri's face. He's like, what, yeah, just and then it shows you Lionel straight after it, who is trying to remain straight face. His grandson's too and he can't say and he can't say a freaking word, and he's watching his son be a little bit too freaking obvious, and with every second it gets worse and he can't do anything. So yeah, and then when he tries to, when Christine goes and pairs the two of them, he grabs Jace so rough and kind of throws them across the courtyard and it's very one sided at first, but then Jase kind of takes a gun by surprise and get some on the back foot a bit, and their eggs like hiding behind the dummies and the straw dummies and stuff. So I quite like that jascot a wee a wee moment and showed him, you know what, you're too smug, you're too cocky. Yeah, so that was cool. Have you got any other notes for that scene? No? Well, actually no, actually I do have a note for that scene. Did you notice that Eggon and Emond are in green? I didn't. They're in green? I did not. I was going to say the Strong Boys. That's a bit controversial. They were in red and black. Yeah, one side read other side black, okay, so traditional targetarian color. Yeah, No, Allison's Boys wearing green. I am I meant to look out for this going forward because they are very much in the territory of the Greens and the black now, yeah, and I want to I want to keep an eye on that going forward. It did make me think, come on the series, and you're not seeing this. It's been ten years. You don't see this division? Yeah, in your family? Well he can, he obviously can see it, but even down to I think is such a slap in the face because it's a it's a war banner. Yeah, so those are his kids too. Yeah. Has his illness taken him so far that he's just too weak to voice anything anymore? Well, I suppose we never really saw the aftermath of Allison walking into that party, the face the wedding feast with the wearing green. We saw viser's reaction, but it was a very public situation. Yeah, And. The episode ended without that ever having been because that was a declaration. I mean, who says it's Allison's choice? Is it maybe just the wardrobe choice through the director and writer. Yeah, that we're just going to put them in green and see if anyone notices. Yeah, yeah, Yeah, totally interesting though. It's like to yeah, is that a direction choice to to, you know, distinguish characters, you know, like why the way all the Targarian's blonde, even the ones that weren't. Yeah, still not over, Yeah, totally through and through? Yeah, But is that what they're doing here? Is is this a wardrobe choice as opposed to It's interesting, isn't it? Because I don't think it comes up in the book. I don't know. I'm going to have to like, I don't. Think a detail as small as that is in the book. No, I don't think. The only time they ever mentioned is the initial first time that Alison wore a green dress and Wenda wore a black dress, which was at Visseri's and Allison's fifth anniversary party, and that is when everybody started referring to them as the blacks and the greens. And I don't think anything as tiny as that we've ever mentioned again in the books, to be honest with you, not doubting what they were weighing in. So where were we? So Harmon splits up this fight and Christian Coles like really digging at Harmon to get a reaction he wants, and the outcome that happens is what he wanted. Yeah, shit, And Kristen's lying on his back laughing. Yeah. And Haran is so triggered he's having to be held back by two strong knights or you know, I mean apparently Harwin Strong is the strongest, baddest brickes. Yeah, exactly, He's the toughest man in the kingdom and he's been held back by these two guys, and he is full on triggered. And Kristin's just lying there laughing his little face off ahead sold and yeah, he's so smug. And again, it is unrecognizable to the Christen from I was going to say from the last episode, if we exclude the last ten minutes, he's unrecognizable to the Christian before the last ten minutes of the last episode. So yeah, there's that. And then there's. Lionel having the conversation with Harwin after the. Fact, and Anita's like eavesdropping. I know, and it's so tense and so awkward. It is. However, actually I wait, I'll wait until. We've heard the clip, okay, because yeah, I have to that. Okay, Well I could do with a refresh anyway. Yeah, so it gives us a sick. So that's what this is about. Shame on the whole of that strat, because I laid my hands on that insufferable cold the son of a Stewart, he is. A knight of the case got. And everything. You have laid us up to accusations of an uglier treachery. And what treachery? Oh, don't dumb, don't play the fool with. Me, boy. Your intimacy of the Princess Rania is an offense that would mean exile and death for you, for her, for the children. This rumor only. Spun by the princess's rivals. People have eyes, boy, Yet his grace, the King, it seems, will not accept what is I see. This flimsy shield alone stands between you and the headsman, the wilful blindness of a father towards his child. From which my father affected a similar blindness? Have I not these many years? And yet today you publicly assaulted the knight of the King's heart in the defense of your. You have your honor and I have mine. Oh that was intense. To the fly on the wall or the we need on the stairs. Absolutely, and Harwin is still talking and quoted conversation. He was sticking to the story. Oh, definitely, definitely, because the girls have ears. Yeah, and even although his dad is daft enough to call him out on it, that the conversation so loud as well, you can help. Thinking like Warfrenier is not the only person listening. And I think Harwin was also thinking that, yeah, stick to the story that I've just lost my ship, don't lose yours, or we're really fucked. Yeah exactly. And then of course later he goes to speak to. Erris to resign and almost confesses again, yeah, we'll get to that, because in the meantime later is just making it worse. Arms so drunk that you can hear him singing, and he's quite he's quite ridiculous, isn't it. And she's just sitting in the chair like. It just it's such a pain to her at that moment because I just had to sit and listen to harmone and line of having this really loud conversation. And like, oh my god, what's going to happen and coming in with these his boyfriend. And they're singing in the hallway and they're clattering things and and and. He's like, I fell over. We've all been there, We've all been There've all been that drunk person. That's for your friends. Definitely, that's not the worst thing that you wake up and you go, you were so funny last you go, oh my god, what did that do? There's that level of drug ca wasn't it. So yeah, he's like, are you all right, dear, explaining the carls you know, the milk makes the breast swell. I was like, Carl, did I have a moment with my husband abort? Get out? Oh? It's so good, but I mean, besides the funny, then it goes really quite The tone changes and laners, you know, talking about Carl's going to take me on this adventure and we're going to go here and we're going to go sailing and we're going to. Fight in and. And yes, and this is exactly what I need. You know. She says nothing, nothing, and he keeps adding a bit more, and he's like, so what do you think you Yeah, you know, he's like he seems slightly soupered up. He does, because I think he's starting as she is not a laughing yeah. You know, when you're that drunk person sent with this sober person and then you're like, oh, I've been very annoying. Yes, yeah, he definitely had that moment and these tone changed. But then she responds, and I have this clap back at see. Being mad. Do you know what's happened? Have you been guzzling all the ailing fleabottom? We've got to know what Besides. Dark rooms are hunting as Lena never dire heels questions. About us sounds parented, vile, disgusting, insinuations. Insinuations are there are. Sons yours and mine, and the true Father will not abandon them now to go carousing through the narrow sea, waggling his sword and winking at his sailor. And a warrior. And I have played my part here faithfully for ten years. I am old. Old nothing you tell them here. For ten years you have indulged yourself at court, bought the finest horses, drunk the rarest of wines, fuck the lustiest boys. This was our agreement. I have not begrudged you. I think that's the first time that. You do not desert your post when the storm lashes. The wise sailor flees the storm as it gathers. Very well, then I command you, as your princess and the heir to the throne. You are commanded to remain in kings landing and at my side. Yeah. I can get on board with that call, absolutely. Do you know what? I spent most of that clip thinking though at least the first half of it was a line that I. Never noticed before. When I'm watching it and she says, you're drinking all the ale in flea bottom and god knows what else besides, I'm like, god, drugs at West US, what's the drugs? Oh? I know what people are getting high on? But oh, joking at aside, that was that was powerful. It was I love that. It's just just like, well, I'll give you an option to do the right thing, and now I'm taking your choice away. I'm in charge. Yeah, I can totally get behind that. I actually do that. Yeah, me too. I voice it in a question. However, it's not a question. No, it's a command. Don't make me command, you just agree with me. I love when I do that to the kid and you go, yeah, but it wasn't a question, and they're so confused. Like, oh, but you said the question he asked. No. Read between the lines here, and. Poor Lenor, in his drunk state, thinking that he was going to get away with that. He just had a great night. This is brilliant. I'm going to go back to a war. I'm going to go on ships. It will be great. No you're not, No, you are not. This ship has hit the fan love. You're not going anywhere. I command you, and I don't really blame her. So I think that was for the most part of the episode. I don't think there's there's anything else on the question of the parentage of Ranida's children. It might be referenced again, but I feel like that was the bulk of the plot around it, So we'll move on and the next big plot line. I feel as Damon's I've tiled it. Self exile because he was exiled from court, not from Westros. Yeah, and he and the lady Lena are living the traveler's life and they're being welcomed all over the Free Cities and everybody loves a dragon show. Very much so, and they're offered residency. Yeah, this is where they meet Prince Riggio Hataris I think his name is, and he offers them a place to settle, and what he wants in return is to bolster Pentoss to deter the triarchy from looking at them. And this is another point where we hear We've just heard from Lenar about the triarchy, so we hear again about the triarchy. Yes, and it seems to be pushed aside, Yeah, by all of these relationship issues going on and all of this selfishness. This has going on. And I think in every episode, every episode with the Stepstones and the Triarchy have. Become very comfortable with peace, haven't they. Yeah, Yeah, definitely. It's like they don't want to admit that what is on the horizon, Yeah, even when it's knocking on your front door. And Damon's been there before, yeah, with the crab feeder. Yeah. So you would think of anyone he would be very keen to be involved in that. And yet I don't think that was the part that was appealing to him. No, it was more about staying the fuck out of West or Us and the fucking politicking and succession and the responsibility of being a good person to because you represent this family. And makes an excellent point to him though, yeah, about him spending all his time in libraries reading all these books about days gone by, And if you're not that interested in it, Demon, then why are you spending all of your time on it exactly, And the only thing he's got to say is, well, the wine's better in Western Ross. This Amber pushes, Oh, I have that quote. He says, I miss Western astly strong wine at least guaranteed a peaceful oblivion. Yeah. So yeah, he's like trying to pretend he doesn't care about back home and it's just the whine a miss, but he does. He clearly does. He's just trying to take any distraction that will come along. And let's face it, Lena is a very beautiful distraction. She is, and she's badass. Yeah, a Fagor's does. He's a cool girl, and he does have a lot of love for her outside of Rania, it's the only woman that you see him in the show. Yeah, having an affection. For no, I mean there was a hint of an affection with Mizaria. But I think he was just trying to find something outside the marriage that he had been given because he wasn't finding anything there. What I've got it? What have you got? He has a real respect for someone that isn't sordid. Oh, he actually has respect there we. Go because we did discuss about this kind of well, we said Yeah. That maybe the reason he pulled back from Rania is because, in his own twisted way, twisted respect, I think we call it. You asked if that was a thing. He's progressed onto actual respect. Yeah, yeah, absolutely, it is actual respect. And dare I say a hint of love maybe maybe not the love that he wanted to find in his life, but someone that he feels he can share his life with. She is beautiful, she is and she's such a cool girl, and she's really smart, and. It was a clever marriage as well. Yeah, for because you have. He's not welcoming Kingsland, and there's nobody really got a place from among the blacks or the greens. But in House Filarian, the House Hilarian can stand alone without either of them. Yeah, it's a strong enough house. It's a strong enough alliance. I think that's the way it's put in the book is that's that's part of the reason he made that choice. So Yeah, when Damon entertained the subject, Lena does not look happy. No, No, She's makes it very very clear later that she wants to go home. Yeah, she wants to give Bertha a baby at drift Mark, where she was born. And I love that, she says, and I want to die of dragon Rider's death. Yeah. Oh, she's got so much fire, that girl, she's really cool. Love her. But it seems like Damon just wants the easy life. And dare I say it, I think he's depressed. Yeah, yeah, I would go with that. Yeah, he says that line. She says, we're the blood of old Valeria, and he's like, Valeria is gone and don't belong anywhere. And I'm like, oh, that's bleak. But I think he's in denial. I agree. I think both brothers are in denial. Yeah, yeah, isn't that true? So I don't really think that there was. There was much more on. And I think the the that's sort of the end of Damon's question of questioning where he wants to be in the world. It was. There is a really lovely scene with Lena and her youngest daughter. However, actually, I know you have a really funny scene. Oh which one. I think it's her daughter Bayla. Oh shit, at that dinner, that was it? The Patoshi Lord's giving them, you know, this big history lesson and Lena's like, look, if you wanted to marry one in my doors you could have just, you know, you could have just asked and spared us the history lesson. And I don't know which girl it is, but one of about the face. On her, she's so disgusting that she's absolutely man. Oh, it was such a cool moment. It's just like I love it. It was like we've not had much from this girl in these girls at all in this episode. But there was some proper personality going on there. I love that. But yeah, you're right. There was a beautiful scene with Lena and one. Of the daughters. I think they're twins, are they? Yes? Yes, yes, they're definitely wear in the books. I assume they are on the TV show as well. General twins like non identical. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, definitely. But they're lovely little girls as well. But yes, so this scene with Lena and her daughter is beautiful, So I'm going to drop that in here. Oh. Yes, she's trying to hatch the egg here, isn't she. Yeah, it's been like, yea sweetly half of them. Never do you know what. Hatch? Will they let me stay? Who let you stay? The Prince of Pentos, I don't understand. He wants you and father. And Bayla, because you have dragons. There is more than one way to bind yourself to a dragon. I was without one until I was fifteen years old, and now I write a bagel the largest in the world, Babass the other harder road. Baylor's dragon was born to her. But if you wish to be a writer, you must claim that right. Your father will tell you the same. Faba ignores me. Oh that bereaks my heart. He's doing his best. All. She's such a lovely mom, she really is. I love that She's like, don't worry, there's other ways to get a dragon. Yeah, can be. I've got the biggest one of all. She's so lovely. So after the scenes with Lena and her daughter, things move back to the Red Keep and we see the first small council meeting of the new era. I find it so amusing that there's the first thing they're talking about is the Brackens in the Blackwoods. Again, and they are ever eternal feud. But the main point of the discussion is that Rinia says black, Allison says white, and vice versa. Yeah, and there's and I just w oh, the bitching, but it's the contempt in mostly Allison's voice. I'm going to say, but Rinia does a bit of herself, you know. But it felt like no one else at the table was really involved in the conversation. It was a lot of back and forth between just the two of them. I felt Lania was more regal. Yes, Alison came across as. She was just trying to undermine remaining era. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. So after the you know, they have their we dispute about the Brackens and the Blackwoods. It's back to the stepstones again, Yeah, which is as we've already discussed, it keeps coming up and here it's Allison trying to dismiss it. Yeah, because they're so focused on their own shitty bickering. Yeah. I love actually a little funny moment at this point when Beesberry starts talking about the Brackens. It's like you can't keep up in the conversation and they're like, we've already moved on. So I like the during all the tension that they can still make you laugh. Yeah, as clever. It's clever, right, and I love that. So they're talking about Dorn joining the fight with the triarchy, allied with the triarchy. I mean, if that happens. They're fucked and they're still going with it. You can't trust a Martell. Yeah, well exactly, so prepare. Well, you can't trust your wife or daughter love, but you could, you know. Focuses absolutely. I mean, if you think about where dorn is located, I think of the major kingdoms, I think the Storm's End is the closest, and I believe there's a stretch of mountains, thinking the Red Mountains that separate them. The Dornish know those mountains, so fricking well they could. They could mountain attack from there, absolutely, if they're backed up by the triarchy coming in from sea on the east and the Dornish coming from the south. They are things that this is important. I know, you know, you are like they're arming on two sides of you here, all right, this is this is not good. This needs to be addressed. We're being flanked. Yeah, I say, mountain attack from darn. The game is fucked. So it is absolutely ridiculous that this is not being taken more seriously. Jasper Wild makes a comment at this point about Jamon, you know, being king of the Narrow Sea. He goes, he's a prick. He's only opened his mouth once and I don't like this guy. Oh seriously. And then there's some more bitchin. I wrote more a bitchin. Yeah, it's all just bitched, what behavior. Actually, there were some proper points being made here though, with the bitchin. Ranina is saying, we abandoned the stepstones. We should have put in fortification, we should have put ships patrol in the area, we should have put some soldiers there. Garden shitty retort is we can't afford it. Our coffers are plentiful. But I'll yeah, yeah, she comes across. It's just very bitter and bitchy. In that scenario. I was like Vanida came up with it. It was earlier. I can't remember exactly which point it was. I was during the Blackens in the Blackwood's conversation, and Nida said something quite logical and quite sensible. Yeah. I think it was probably when she was saying like, so, we're just going to let these guys keep killing each other off, are we? And I also was like, of course. She's just so yeah, she's hard work. Oh definitely. But it's like you know, petulant teenager are being you know, told to tidy the room and they don't want to hear it, and they're. Like, oh, and we don't see Visas used to be a bit more. It was always a yes man. Yeah, but there would be a limit with him. He seems to just be letting Alison run away with ourselves. He is, he definitely is. We could actually can we talk a second just about how the saides looks at this point, because it's ten years later and the bald cap is a lot thinner than it was last episode, And he's definitely I mean, his movement is is because he makes that joke actually is like to Lionel and he says, I'm surprised I'm allowed to vote the privy by myself. So yeah, he's in a bad way, but he's yeah, you're right. He is letting things just go by. Yeah, he's letting both Ranida and Alison just go at it. And it's just like, yeah, ten years previously, he would have had a cut off point when he would have said enough enough kick no. But I think I think the way the conversation ends islet circle as that has then and then Ali say goes, right, well we'll end We'll end it there, and they all go to get up but Rinita stops them, and she extends an olive branch. Yes, a desperate one. A desperate one. Yes, I have that clip. Wait, I wish to speak. Be seated. I have felt the strife between our families of late my queen, and for any offense given by mine, I apologize. But we are one house, and long before that we were friends. Oh my god, it's silteds. My son Ja Sarah's will inherit the iron throwne after me. I propose we betrothed him to your daughter Helena ally ourselves once and for all. Let them rule together. Our most judicious proposition. Additionally, if Syrahx brings forth another clutch of eggs, your son Aimons will have his choice of them, a symbol of our goodwill. Hm hmm. Venera, Oh yeah, our boobs are really kid now, aren't they? Oh? Bless her? Oh? Seven hells m. My dear dragon said, is a handsome well. The king and I thank you for your author and we will consider it. Julie, you must rest now, husband. Yes, and the second her back has turned. How sweetly the fox speaks when it's been cornered by the hounds. She is desperate. She feels the earth washing away through her feet, and now she expects us to ignore her transgressions and for me to marry my only daughter to one of her plain featured sons. She's not allowed to say it again, though, Let us put aside these childish quarrels. Joined hands will be stronger for it. Can I do you wish? Husband? What I am called in my grave? She's got some fire in her now though, that she she never had before. Trying to remain remember that part of Alison, you know, remember the girl she was, because I don't think I got this very much first time round. I'm not saying I didn't notice she was sweet in the beginning. I think I forgot that she was sweet in the beginning. Yeah, and going this, having this rewatch and really really getting deep into these characters has made me realize how how she got to where. She was a vulnerable young girl she was, and now that's manifested as a better, angry, dvous women. Yeah. Yeah, I can relate. At times in my life. I can absolutely relate. I can thenk some pretty crappy things. Some are due to mistakes I made, some things that just happened to me when I'm younger, and they have shaped who I am now, and I am tougher for it in a lot of ways. And sometimes that toughness can come across as cold and harsh because I won't take shit anymore. But this is the wonderful thing about this world and these characters that George Martin has created, these really strong female characters that go through harrrendous times and they start off as vulnerable young girls as we all do. Yeah, but the paths that they take and the choices that they make from the maid for them, yeah, they all turn out so differently. You have your Allicence and your Circe Lanisters, yeah, and then you have your Areas and your sonsors. Yeah, and they're all very, very very different. I mean, I think even in Game of Thrones we got a glimpse of a twelve year old Circe Lanistar and she was just she seemed a sweet girl for the five minutes she was on screen, And I think we've got to remember that is every almost not not every, but almost every nasty bitch out there was probably a sweet girl at one point. But I totally go with babies aren't born eful, Well. No they're not. No, No, they're definitely not none of them. But then we could get into nature nurture. We're not here for that, We're here for the fantasy. Yeah, what's get back to the fantasy? Because that was that got a bit real there for a second, didn't it. This is the unreal hour. Yes, okay, let's keep it unreal focus. So yes, moving on the final main plot line I suppose, or the final third of the episode, I would say, centers around the Curse of Haaren Hall. Yes, it starts, I would say, with Lionel trying to resign. It was very noble. It wasn't the right move, No. And it also felt like a desperate play. Yeah, it's like if I apologize now and get the fuck out of Dodge before I get caught, or before my son gets caught and disgraces my name. It's not even his name. He doesn't want his grandchildren, No, they'll all die in his mind. And that I mean he says that it's like those children, even those children, and you can see or in that moment, that that he cares for them too. They are his blood. Of course he does. He's such an honest character, isn't. He He is He is He's truly one of the few actual good people who in this world. So rather than stand there and lie, yeah, I'm going, I'm off. Absolutely, let's let's do the clip. I'm being endlessly fussed over. Line. That's wonder I can visit the Privy. What might earnd be about Lord Lionel. Or Grace? I feel. I have come to resign my position as hand of the King. The episode in the yard this morning, my son Jowen has disgraced himself, and every fishwife in King's landing will soon be telling the. Tail Young Carwin's outbursts unfortune that it's true, but he's been expelled from the city Watch. That seems punishment. Enough forgive me, or Grace. It is not shut up, a b a bork. You have served me faithfully for many years, Tennor's hand. I think I just heard Allison's eyes. Unmarked by self interest, which stands in contrast to all others. You speak kind words, but there is a shadow over my house, and it grows ever darker. I can no longer serve you with integrity. Shut up? What is this shadow? Name it? If it casts such a gloom, or as if you. Don't know, yes, you must have your reasoning in plain language. Translation, I dare you. I cannot. Then I cannot accept this. My dear husband, I said no. If you insist, my king, I do. You will continue in your service to the ground. That was closer. Yeah, it was he wanted to spill. Yeah, and Alison was like a cat waiting on her mouse coming out of hole. Or she was, but it's the look she gives the series right afterwards, and he's looking at her like whoa. She just spins on her heel, like walks out the door. How many times have you had that moment? He's looking at you like whoa, You're like, I just I just can't. I'm out here, Oh dear. It was a very tense situation. But what it's very noble. I'm desperate. Yeah, yeah, he's a good man. He's a good man. Yeah, isn't It's sad that he's struggling with it so much. After being so loyal, you know, I think, yeah, it's very it's very hard for him because you know, he's standing there, has to watch his grandchildren from the outside that what they just witnessed in the courtyard was. Very awkward. But you could see the love that his son has for his boys as well. In that moment, he's watching all of this and can't intervene, can't say anything, and I think his conscience just got the better off him there for a moment. But I'm glad he didn't just outright see it. He can't no, no, So yeah, what comes next is Alison's dinner with Laris. She marches straight out of there and goes back to her chambers where Laris is waiting. He's like, sorry, I didn't wait for you, but the meat was getting cold. I was just like, okay. He's very comfortable in her chambers. Yeah. In that conversation, I get the vibe that she she wants her dad back, yes, because there's no one on her side and an opportunity for him to be back. Because she says, well, he's partial to me. Yes, and he wouldn't hesitate to say what needs to be said, the thing everyone else is scared to say. And I think she's right. Actually, yeah, I think would say it because he's a master manipulator and he would have found the best way to say it to Vissers to make him understand. Yeah, but. Vissaris might have. Just dismissed it again like everybody else, but at least he would have said it. I think that's what Alison's trying to say. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it must be hard for her because like all these years without our dad, that's been well, so it was it's ten, it's ten, maybe going on eleven years. So yeah, Alison's missing her daddy. And I think in the fight that she thinks she's fighting, he would be her absolute strongest ally, so he's understand all that she would feel that way. Yeah, definitely. So what happens next Larice recruits the prisoners. That was a bit brutal. Oh it was horrendous. Oh that guy's eyes and it's like they're darting from left to right and oh oh oh and that this the sound of the sizzling blade. Got through the tongue. Oh it was. It was wickedly gross. Gotta say like, no matter how gross this stuff is, I'm always like. Yes, no, yes, oh yeah, it was really cool. But again, creepy little bugger, isn't he. Seeing the way was you know, giving his little speech to the prisoners, but to make you an offer, and oh slimy, just very very very slimy, just like to say before we move on. The discovered a little plot hole this story so well, actually IMDb discovered. I'm not going to pretend it's mine, but I thought it was so interesting I have to share it a lot of sense. Three condemned men on a top secret mission and even cuts out their tongues to ensure their silence. But then he has them where his personals such a well on the Yeah, yeah, like. Is a bit silly. Now I'm trying to think. Could that be so as they are not suspicious when they're in Haron Hall? Yea, yeah, that makes sense. God, you just blew my theory. Sorry Dair, damn you. That does actually make sense, but only if that is the reason. Otherwise it's a plot right. So next Harwin says goodbye to the boys. It's so sad, and there's so much unsaid between him and Rania. Yeah, she's trying to not give anything away. I'm trying to Jace, but like it was to no avail because the second day walked out of the room. Jesse is like, is he my dad? Yeah? Am I a bastard? And it was her. She was so shocked when he said it, Like what I mean you saw through my code. Like I really thought I was being clever here, damn me for a reason. Such a smarket. Have those moments often. But bless her, she doesn't like him. She doesn't admit the truth either. But no, but that's your roles have ears. Yeah. Yeah, So then she goes straight to Lenor and says it's time to go back to dragon Stone. I and I love this that she turns his words against him. Oh yeah, she does. And she's like a wise sailor flees the storm as it gathers. Yes, Oh, I love that. The best kind of manipulation, using their own words against them. You go, girl, I like that, just. Like and bring him to only as many swords as we can get. Definitely. Oh well, I just I just wrote, your boy drink can come. Yeah, we're going back to Dragonstone and your boy drink can come. It's fine, right, We're just going so yeah, and that brings us. To a fire fire. I thought that was so distressing. Oh it was awful like her when we're starting to roast. I was almost a little relieved for him when he fell through the floor or was it the ceiling above collapse on him, I was unsure. Yeah, I was unsure, but there was definitely a collapse of the building, which I'm thinking, God, I'll hope that at least knocked him out. Yeah, because he was starting to cook and her lying al on the other side of that door hearing that. I can't imagine what that must have been like to hear your son go like that and shortly follow him. It's got to be the worst way to go. Fire. Yeah, yeah, definitely, definitely. Here we are comment on a series that is inspired by a book called Fire and Blood. Yeah. Interesting. So yeah, after the fire, like last is that creepy voice over about children and the burden and it's better not to love and all this stuff is like when did you get so insightful about children? Daddy? You know, It's like when were you a dad? I want to know what his deal is? Like, why are you so bitter? Oh? It's do you know. I did a little bit of digging to see if I could find out what makes him tick, and also of looking just that, you know, the family history. SE could piece something together myself see if there was anything written. I really found nothing. In fact, what I did find when one of the many different wikis that there are was basically a statement of no one knows what motivates Lanas. Okay, so that is the character as shrouded in mystery. So the only other thing is that very the voiceover speech goes into another creepy little speech about the curse of Haarenhall. Yeah, and I'm going to play that clip. I did you've heard the stories of Aarn Holy Grace. It's built in Hebrews by Aaron the Blacks and monument Who's and greden, his blood mixed into the motor. It is said to be a cast place and it passes judgment and only past belated to. Gi Hu boss judgment. She's scared of him. Queen makes a wish what Saidain did? The realm would not strive to fulfill it. I assume you will write to your father. Now, Paris. I did not wish for this. I feel certain you will reward me when the time is right. Hmmm. He's basically just saying there, you owe me one. He's such a creep. Oh, it's despicable. And she seems vulnerable in that moment, very very and she's through this. I mean, this new incarnation of Alison ten years later has been come across as quite strong and not scared to voice their opinions. To Visei's she's very assertive and so far removed from the girl that we knew in the first half. And yet there we go. We saw it again, that vulnerable part of hers that still exists within her, and that man terrifies her no wonder, Oh he's a nasty, nasty little man. It w'll be interesting to see how his character unfolds next season, because as I was looking them up, what I got was very much the first paragraph of a much longer thing. So there's a lot to come with Laris. But I didn't look ahead for the sake of spoilers, so trying not to be spoiled. But there's definitely a lot more to come with him, so I'd like, I can't. Wait to see that brings us to the end of our major plot lines, so we're going to mat move on to dragon sightings fab. So there were several dragon sightings in West thro Us this week. There was. It was fantastic. It was because, I. Mean, like, for a show called House of the Dragon, I haven't seen much dragon. You know, There's been a little bit here, a little bit there. We had that battlely stuff in episode three three was it? Yeah? But there were so many different ones this week, so many things, so I can't wait to get stuck in. First of all, little Vermax. Little ver Max was so cute and so cocky and just a fab little dragon. Oh you get to say, he's just rare to go. You can tell he's going to be fierce when he's big. Yeah. And Jason is so excited. Oh definitely, hadn't I got control of him yet, but he's keen to learn, he is, so Yeah, that was interesting. And all the while his uncle Amon's sulking. As well, a little Jesus saying can I see it? Oh? Yeah, that was brilliant, like kind of kind of please please, I'd be the same. Yeah, I mean too. And our next drag Insight in What a fearsome beast it was. It was. I can't even keep a straight face. The Pink Dread, Oh that was so funny but so mean. It was was hilarious. It really was named after the infamous Valeria and the Black Dread and his brother and nephews were wetting themselves. They thought they were so funny. I thought they were. I thought they were funny too. It was a win definitely. Oh but he's he's an angry, little, bitter, little little man, isn't he. Yeah, he's quite a negative kid. Yeah, in comparison to his Would she be his cousin there with their little Mormon maybe because. The series and their gram the series and oh would be an uncle. Actually it's Damon's children. Yes, that's exactly right. Yeah, yes, so they would be cousins. Yeah, they are absolutely just cousins. I'm trying to think about the the other parentage side of it, but no, they're just flat out cousins. Yeah, right, brilliant And yeah, she was like Verena was like so hopeful she knows she's after eight years, she's still got this egg and the fire every opportunity wishing and hoping that her moment's going to come, and the aimags just sin sulk h. Yeah. And again we're kunting eggs as as dragon sightings because clutch no one intended we can. Yeah, because we created a dragon section and then sometimes through snow dragons, but we saw an egg absolutely, So then we had the unidentified pit dragon. This was really cool and we don't know, we don't know which dragon this is, but there's speculation isn't there and you've done a little bit of research. Oh my god, I like googled. I wicked. I went on read it and there's no definitive answer. Nothing has ever been confirmed from the showmakers, but the general consensus is that it is dream Fire. There's every chance that could be side Acts. Absolutely could this is I read. I narrowed it down to four potential dragons. Side Acts, sea. Smoke, but I don't think Sea Smoke because Sea Smoke is a white dragon, and that was that was not a white dragon. I'm fair certain it was dark, but I'm still fairly certain that dragon was not white. So I'm ruling out Sea Smoke. It could be Sideax because Runina and Lena are both in kings Landing at this time. Dream Fire is blue, yes, so I don't think the coloring of that dragon was right. No, I don't think so either. And silver Wing, well, I mean the clues in the name was a silver dragon, and I don't think the coloring is right there at either, unless it is another dragon that is being hatched and born and we don't know about it. Yeah, it's pretty big. It's pretty big. I'd like to think that they would have, you know, wanted us to know what dragon it was. If it was some special dragon that we'd never seen before. It was certainly a very big dragon, so I'd like to think that they would they would want us to know who it is, which brings me back it being Cyrax and a dragon we've already seen. Yeah, and I think that's a very legitimate reason for why no one has. Ever named it. Yeah, so there we go. It could just be that. Moving on, what was the next dragon sighting? The next was awesome? It was this was Karaxies and Vagar with Lena and Damon with their. Big show on this guy. Yeah, I wrote, putting on a show for the locals, so great minds thinking. Okay, so I love that opening of that scene with Karaxis tail sweeping through the water. Yeah, it was really cool. And then the camera tilts up the cliff side with the dragon and sweeping up. It was so cool, and then lay off with Dracaras and Damon's like oh hot, And it just made me think about Danaidies and I could hear her voice in my head saying fire cannot hurt a dragon. I was like, ah interesting, So yeah, that was really cool. Of course, we discussed earlier the Lady Raina trying to hatch her egg, which was very very cute, and it was a beautiful egg. Yeah, so yeah, I don't think that one's going to hatch. But then again she's. Warming it and looking after it and nurturing it, so you never know, you never know, maybe it will. Our final dragon moment of the episode was with Vigar and the Lady Lena, and wow, what a scene that was. It was so sad. Yeah, and then of course. It's the emotion from Vagar. I think that's yes, it's so sad. It absolutely was. So. Yeah, that Vegar's face at the detail and the expression. I've never seen that with any of the dragons. Really. There was there was little moments, you know, when Damon was giving Karaxes a cuddle, or Nida with Cyrax, but that was you know, it was a cuddle and all the rest of it. But there was she was pleading with her, she was with each other. They were please don't make me do this. Yeah, and please please do this. And this is how I choose to go out. It was a heartbreaking, harrowin scene and I cried, I di, did you are we tear I have a swinging brick. Well, well I'm a big sap. It don't take much for me to get away tear in my eye. But that was definitely one of my triggers. That was that was raw so but fantastic Dragon moments this week, absolutely so. That brings us to funny lines. Well, as usual, I've used up all my funny lines in the main plot, and I really have to stop doing that. I don't have any left. I do you know some of them I used up. Some of them were actually in the scenes that we played in the clips. Yeah, so I'm like, damn it. But so there's no point in seeing them again. We've already heard them. But I have got a couple left. So when Agon's in the courtyard and he's training with the straw dummy and he says to Kristin, my opponent sues for mercy, to which Kristen replies, well you shall have a new and then my lord of the. Shraw, I was like, that was quite witty. It was. I'm finding him hard to like at the moment. But that was a good lie. The next one, this was good because it's just my kind of humor. There's dripping sarcasm. But when Lady Lena says to Damon, I've had a letter from Lane or Ranidas has another child, and Damon's replies, did Leanna mention if this one bears a remarkable but entirely coincidental resemblance to the commander of the city watch, Oh that's too good, And even Lena thought it was funny. She had a giggle too, So yeah, it's like everybody knows. Yeah, even across the narrow Sea. Oh God cringe. So and finally, believe it or not, Lord of Strob, Oh, wow, he are a funny So he says to Alison, I felt it was a sin to let the meat go cold, and Allison says, yeah, I had no such worry about the wine. He says, we'll meet without wine is also a sin. Well it's not wrong, isn't it. I can't argue with that? So yes, finally me and Laris meet when it comes to wine. Why does that not surprise me? And that was it for funny lines? Do you have any other notes? The only thing I've got is, which I thought was quite interesting, that Damon's daughters speak High Valerian, and apart from his conversations with Runira, yeah, or the people that work in the Dragon Pit. Yes, these are the only other people that really hear speaking High Valerian with Damon. Yeah. And it's lovely that he has that with his daughters. Yes, it is definitely. Yeah, it was a really, really quite sweet moment. While I did notice that I didn't think that in depth to it, I just assume they all learned how Valerian, but. I think the Valarians speak Hi Valerian. But it was nice to see Damon have a High Valarium conversation with someone that wasn't working the Dragon Pit or Ranida because it seemed to be exclusive to them. Yeah, it was like their own little secret lineguage. Yeah. So it was really nice to see him conversing with someone else. Yeah. Yeah, that was a beautiful moment. Any other notes, No, that was it? So well. It was an eventful episode. It was loads of funny lines, loads of drama, loads of bitching and backstabbing, lots of dragons. Yeah. Yeah, finally, and last but not least, a lot of death, A lot of death, which brings us to ap section. So the first peron that we need to mention in our rap section today is Grandmaster Mellos. He was not mentioned in the show, and I'm guessing that it's because there has been years since his passing during the ten year time jump that we've just experienced, so nobody gave him a mention, and his death has kind of gone unnoticed to the average watcher who's not one hundred percent paying attention. You know, will be missed by all the leeches in restaurants. Oh, he certainly will. Those were definitely his favorite remedy. There will be a lot more horrible polticies around the Red Keep. So yes, goodbye to Grandmeaster Melos, rest in peace. And next we say goodbye to the lady Lena A Valarion and her i'mborn child. It was. Absolutely beautiful and yet brutal way to go. It was very shocking and very very moving. She was a strong mother, a caring mother, supportive wife yes, wonderful daughter to her parents yes, and a great sister yes. And a phenomenal dragon rider. Yes. She was strong right up into her very last seconds. I love that when they were trying to decide her fate, she just got up and walked out the room and decided her own. It was her strength of character that we rarely see in this world. Yes, so rest in peace Lady Labor and her unborn child. Next we say goodbye to her and breakbone strong in peace, breakbones yes. Loving father. Secret man on the slide yep. Absolutely so much left unsaid between him and Runia. It was like they thought they were going to have. Another chance to have that conversation that they should have had as he was leaving, and it was a horrible, horrible. Way to go. Yeah, he didn't deserve that, No, absolutely not. And finally we said goodbye to his father, Lionel Strong. And he was as strong as they came in. He absolutely was. He was a warrior, He was a faithful hand to the hand of the king. He was a father, a loving grandfather, even in secret. He trained at the Citadel and earned six links in his master's chain, and was an expert in all matters of law, which of course earned him the job as Master of Laws prior to being hand. He was a good man. He wasn't self serving, and in the world of wester Ross that is very very He truly was one of a kind and he will definitely be missed by myself and the series. I think definitely. And he has two surviving daughters. I'm sure they were going to miss their father too, but I didn't think these well, he kind of dropped the ball with Laris. I think, yeah, so that'd be the end of our nip section then, and I think we'll bring the tone back up again with some fun facts. Fun fact number one. During the small Council matend, there is a mention of a Lord Grover Tully of River Run, an ancestor of Catlin Tully, and of course then Aria Sansa Brand and Rob Stark. Grover has a grandson named Elmo and great grands sons named Oscar and Kermit. All of those, as you know, are humorously named characters on Sesame Street. So that was cool. I do think that's funny. I love the Georgia just wrote something completely silly in there. That's brilliant. So our next fun fact is that, despite not being seen until this episode, Emma Darcy was cast first in the row before their younger counterpart Milliocock. Oh really, yeah, that's interesting. So it's like really clear to them, like who Runira is, and then they cast a younger version. Yes, it really is. I love that one. And one other you already know part of this, but maybe you don't know all. So Matt Smith played the eleventh doctor on Doctor Who. Ty Tenant, who plays. Egon, is the adopted son of David Tennant, who played the tenth doctor, and the grandson of Peter Davison, who played the fifth doctor. Oh wow, there you go. That's awesome. That is absolutely amazing. He's like. He's like Doctor Who. Royally, I can just imagine on those like. Two episodes that they actually filmed together that like, well, the cameras weren't rolling, they were like having told Doctor Whomo wents. Yeah, but so ty Turnant is heavily linked to the doctor, who has a family relation to ship to two doctors and has worked with another. Wow, I think he is destined to be a doctor at some point in his life. Or wouldn't that be cool? That would be really really cool. Absolutely, he certainly is well placed. So great, and yeah, we think. We just have one more so. The other fun fact was something I put together myself from going back and looking at the book. But the suspect for the fire at Harron hall Ah, this is interesting. Yes, it is for five suspects. Okay, well that's a lot, and the number one suspect is, of course, the Curse of haroen Hall. I love that. That's the general consensus. It was the curse got them. Of course. The next suspect offered was by Mushroom, and he named Corliss Valarion as a potential suspect. Okay, Mushroom, Yeah, it seems out of character for Cordless. It certainly does. You can see where Mushroom could come up with motivations for it to be Corless. But I think, knowing what we know about his character, that's not the way you would play it. No, so let's let's break this down. S YESI style too means more of an opportunity. Yes, does he have the means? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm sure he could. But he's but he certainly owns a fleet of ships. Harn Hall is very inland though, so he would have to travel along roads and surely would have been seen in wester Ross when he's believed to be in drift Mark. That's true, but he does have many connections because he's high up. He does, but he also stands out in a crowd. Yes he does. It's quite striking. Yes, absolutely, so I'm. Going to rule him out. I'm going to say he did not have the opportunity that we know of. Yeah, he probably could have got there, but as far as we know, he's on drift mark. So motive, absolutely, he could have the motive because of what's happened to lene Or cause Herwin and Rania and they're fair and is bringing attention to the fact that Lenor is carrying what he sees as maybe some shame on their house. Yeah, I think it's a weak motive. Yes, I think it's a very weak motive. But I take everything Mushroom says with. A pinch of salt anyway. Absolutely, so let's roll that out. So Damon excepting Eustace offers Damon as a suspect. Well, you know he was capable of it with real Roys. And his reasoning being that it would get him one step closer to Ruania, which was his motive for killing Rea Royce, so that would be two steps closer to Ruania. Again, he's very striking, Yes, but he's got that hood that he murdered Riha. Yeah, he has a murder Emma. Ten years get a murder who done? I mean, Damon is in penthost at this time. But he has a dragon. That's true, implies a dragon exactly, so means motive and opportunity. It's a possibility, definitely a possibility the majority of people. Yeah. Second to believing it's the curse, Yeah, I believe that it could have been Larice. Well, well we know that in the show. They have gone with that, and he certainly has means motive and opportunity. He stands staying heat harn Hall if his father and brother are gone. Yeah, And he's. Just devious as hell, and he's trying to suck up to Alison. And we already saw how he used his means chopping off their tongues well, giving them a little badge that says I'm with Laris, I'm with Crepy. Yeah. And finally, and probably the most controversial theory of all in the book was offered by Grand Measter Mellos from Beyond the Grave. No, he wasn't dead at this point in the books, but Grand Measter Mellos thought that it could have been the Sais Come that Vices deep down knew that the rumors were true and decided to take Harwin out of the equation. Harwin, Yes, I could see I don't think he would do that to Lionel's body. No, I don't think so either. Now, I like, even if it's you know, if we take the TV show out of it and we're just we don't know, and we were faced with those five options. I'm going to put my money on Damon or Lartie. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So yes, Now that we are done with being CSI's side investigators, this is turning their true crime podcast. I think that brings us to the end of our show. Did you have anything else that you wanted to add? Yeh, that's everything for me. Well, I think that's it then, So next episode we will be back with episode seven, which is called Emma.
