In this episode of The Unreal Hour, hosts Fiona and Emma dive headfirst into House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 7, "The Dragon in Winter," kicking things off with a heavy dose of awe for Aegon's accidental main character energy and Sunfire's terrifying, scale-shaking return.
They break down the surprisingly brutal, four-way ground dragon brawl with the kind of visceral enthusiasm that only true fantasy nerds can muster.
Naturally, no dragon discussion is complete without keeping up their running gag of plugging "jobby bombs"—only this time, they were treated to a magnificent, trebuchet-ready specimen right on screen.
Things take a delightfully cynical turn as the duo unpacks Helaena's spine-chilling, inescapable three-part vision sequence—complete with pale mare omens and an eclipse signaling that the Long Night is coming for everyone regardless of their life choices.
From there, they aggressively side-eye the show's insistence on dragging characters through bizarre, surplus-to-requirements incest dream sequences that leave them ready to vomit.
Between Mysaria holding court, awkward romantic wires crossing between Baela and Addam, and characters spiraling into deep psychological dread, nobody is having a good time in Westeros.

Behold me. Now I am he gonna talk arian, Yes you are. The service is true. The sixth King of the Undoes of the Rhino and the first man. I was here sometime in the light of the seven and it is in there light. Then I start before you. Now strike me sown, and the. Stranger will take contribution. The warriors sword will be judgment upon you. Yes, yes, cowards, you might well retreat for now. You see me as I truly. Am dreadful indungeance right, chucks, I glorioas. M h. It's like accidental mean character energy. M some fire looks terrifying. Yeah, their coddish. Yes, oh my goodness, that is so much different on the audio. Yes, wow, just wow. They say a world record there send twenty. Three people a light in the Guinness Book. In the Guinness Book. Again, I think they already held the record, but hey, why not break it. Everyone loves smashing a pev every now and then. Yeay, fantastic scene. Loving that accidental main character energy. He's just like, fuck it, I'm going to die. Who knew backup was on the way. I hoped, I did, hope, I felt it, and now when I hear it back You can actually hear Sunfire quite early on in the clip. Yeah, so that's probably why I sensed it coming, because he does. He turned away and we can hear sunfire. Yeah, the horses can definitely hear somefar. Their horses are unsettled. So there must have been something in them that went fuck it, and that's something with Sunfire. It was I love that egg On got this big power moment and it wasn't because he had a dragon. He's back because he didn't know he had a dragon. He's back. I think Ryan Condall said this in the behind the scenes that people will find themselves like absolutely rooting for Eggon in this moment, and I did. I felt that Eggon is a horrible person, but I've kind of found myself secretly rooting for him all season long, and this moment was the climax of that. It was so good, absolutely brilliant energy. Loved it. Loved it. So Hi Fox, I'm Fiona and I'm Emma, and we. Are here covering episode seven of season three, House of the Dragon. What was the episode called? I had no idea. Oh yeah, the Dragon in Winter. Okay, I don't know why. Usually that I find the titles are quite on the nose. You can see why the episode is called this, But I didn't feel that with the Dragon in Winter so much, or faceless men for that matter. I mean a little bit. I get what they're doing. There's people sneaking around in the shadows. That's what they're trying to do with the faceless men. But the faceless men are the faceless men. Yeah, So anyway, moving on. Coming up in today's episode, Missari is out to prove she's still Missy from the lock. Then it's over to Tumbleton for zero Fox giving Sea Snake Edition and Wolf's pint size betrayal, and finally we're off to Haron Ill to discuss why Ryan Condall's team red Fine and Blood and decided it was a nice story but it needed more intest let's get into it. Welcome to the Unreal Hour. Let's just carry on talking about egg on because there was a lot more than just that scene going on, and we'll get into the episode. I think we're going to do dragons first this week because that feels right. It just feels right. Yeah, the dragons was the best bits. Let's go, So, how does one manifest their inner dragon? He's kind of made up his mind, doesn't he that he's going to Bravos. That's what he's doing. Yeah, yeah, absolutely, and. There's no there's no talking him down. That's that's where he wants to. Go, as much as Thailand might try. Yeah, so original setup. We had egg On and that on the road and then they meet some villagers who are. Yeah, they're going to the opposite die. The Moutons are on the way. On the march. Yeah, it's sitting behind the scenes. There was apparently thousands. Okay, I didn't give that impression. I didn't get that vibe. No, and then Lara's totally ditches. I kind of loved that part where Eggon was like, Okay, this is what's happening. Yeah, we can't avoid this. I absolutely understand if you guys want to go your own way. This is where we are. But I'm not running. No, I'm not running anymore. I want to die as a king. Yeah, not slain by my brother the way that people think I've died. I want to die fighting, which is a big change for his character. It is. I think between last week and what we got there, it felt like Egon was evolving. I think that's come from what Laris had to say. Laris is honesty with him has made him go. And then Thailand started in. Yeah, I like that. He agreed. Laris is a cripple and he's of no use fighting. And at no point did they turn around and say, I'm going to be vindictive because you were mean to me in the last episode, so you need to stay and I need to watch you die in a horrible way. It was just like, yeah, no, we've been buds. You do you, I'm doing me. Yeah, that was the vibe I got. That was the vibe, and that was the vibe right up until the second he saidcas. Then the vibe changed. That maniacal laughs. Brilliant. It was so good. I love them behind the scenes that Tom glen Carney had went right like, I've got eight takes in me. That's it. Yeah, he lost his voice and vomited at the end, didn't it because he shouted his head off so much. Brilliant, so good. That's dedication for you, folks, dedication to the craft. So yeah, absolutely really love that. For e Gone. We felt it come in. We definitely did. I was not fooled by no Sunfire Corpse, No, no, no, for sure, we're like breumation. What's brewmation? I forgot about that. Yeah, I'm so glad to see that come around because in the books, take a shot. In the books, Egon kind of just disappears for a while and reappears at a later point in the story with Sunfire. So it was good to see how he became reunited with Sunfire because we didn't get that in the book. And what we got was a character arc. It was It was quite an arc, So I can stop moaning now that we're not having any character arcs. Oh yeah, there was some arcs going on and arcs coming around and arcs concluding future potential arcs shut down forever. But we'll get to that there anyway. Have you got any other thoughts on egg On Laris Thailand? Oh, Sunfire's face. Yeah, Sunfire's face was terrified. Sunfire is fucked up, man. Oh the most beautiful dragon in the land too, and kind of matching though. Yeah, Sunfire was making Sheepstealer look kind of cute. Oh bless, I don't think I've got any other notes on Sunfire. It was Oh no, that's kind of spoilery. If we feel the need for a spoiler section. I might come back to that, there might be a small one regarding Helena. But before we get to Helena, let's talk about that big dragon fight that was so cool and what a fight that was. That was so cool. It was like an on the ground, this ground battle. I didn't think it never crossed my mind that that would be so cool to watch. You think dragon fights, you think swirling around in the sky. I absolutely on both watches went no, no, not Cyrax. No, oh, I know, so did I don't bite Cyrax, but you know, nice to see Cyrax get some action. Yeah. I kind of liked how how Raniera was in that whole bit. She was super pissed, obviously not knowing that it was Na. Then when she did find out it was NA, I thought she was really great about it, giving what we've seen of her, how she's been, and she she did move Reina out the way she took Rena onto Syrax and it. Felt more rescue than arrest. Yeah, definitely did. Yeah, she was great with Raina considered in and you know that. Like Demon was even great. There's this whole family conflict going on, but they still managed in the moment to be a great team out the way of the fighting dragons. Right, go with the queen. Make sure she's fine. I've got this. This was badder. Carrais was amazing. It's that even from the start bit where he was like he got sheeps to you? Yeah, yeah yeah. Shall we hear the clip of Damon and Reina before the fight kicks off? What do you have to do here in the raids in the match only? Hey, last I heard we had the same But she has gone. Then I will fly in search of her, and if you find her. I thought I could do this, but I can't. I cannot live the way I have got off from oh who loved me? And so you think by going off to Vega you will. What if I kill her, I will have paid some of my debt to Raniera. I would at least have grounds to super mercy. You will more likely die and I will have paid. All of it. I will die absolved if I cannot live that way. The dragons are getting antsy. Let me help you. Then you cannot battle leg Are alone, but the two of us may yet prevail. Why would you do such a thing. I had no dragon either when I was young. Did you know that. My mother died in CHILDBB when I was three years of age. My brother sank into sadness. I was alone, just as you've been. I should have. Done better, I like come in that moment. Yeah, definitely, Matt Smith knocked out the park. I don't think I've ever seen a Matt Smith's seen that I've thought was ship. No, I never have. Actually, the weird, the weird one. In season one, well there was that, Yeah, there was that's not on. There was echoes of that in today's episode, but we'll get there. The acting in this scene was just, Oh, Phoebe Campbell was knocking it out the park as well. It was really good. I'm going to put my hands up and say that I didn't want more of this this week, but I was wrong because I didn't know what they were going to bring. And wow, I expected maybe a little bit of an encounter with sheep stealer or something because I saw it in the promo and I thought, I don't know if I want more raina dragging this out thing. But this wasn't dragging out. This was development. Yeah, this was cool. This was very very cool. So a four way dragon fight on the ground, only a tiny bit of dragonfly at the beginning, it was it was all claws and by in and oh it was so visceral. It was brutal, loving Clinton Liberty jumping off that dragon and running for like he does all his own stunts. Guys like this is. He just comes back with Rena. He's kind of sheep stealing as he goes though, like, please don't bite me. I have to take her to my queen. Please don't buy me. Nice draggon. Definitely, but Clinton's absolutely amazing. It was so good. I also saw on the behind the scenes as well. Matt Smith hated film. In this scene, I'm with him, Yeah, it was just so repetitive and the same thing over and over and over again, and he's like, yeah, I'm sure it all looks really cool when it's finished, but it was just ship on the day. And then thought it would have been a weird one film as an actor because there's nothing there someone in a suite in a blue suit with a. Dragon head and you're like, where do I look? Ye, You're like, yeah, I thought it would. Have been a weird one. It would be very weird. And Clinton Liberty is like, loved it. It was great. It's the eer so enthusiastic. Yeah, we love that. But yeah, I love that he does all his own stunts. And yeah, there was a lot of running around there. He was super fast, she had a good head start. I loved the little the little moment after I felt really sorry for sheep stealer. Actually, oh god, so to fly off like he couldn't fly. No, sheep saaler cannot fly. And then Caracces just stay in a week cuddle. I did see that too, Yeah, I put them in my notes. It was very sweet. It's like, you're right, Bud. Okay down there, big man. Yeah, you can tell Axis as a battle dragon definitely. What I loved about this, like Caraxies had the advantage because that long neck. Yeah, it's like in a boxing ring, if a boxer's got long arms, they've got better reach. And that's what that's what I thought of when I saw Kraxes fighting there. I did have a moment though of oh there's a lot of nectobite that too. Yeah, easier to grab. Yeah, also so swings and roundabouts on that one. But yeah, an advantage but also maybe a disadvantage in other ways. But on this occasion, Karaxies came out good. So did Sea smoke Yeah, see smoke came out or right Sarak. Sirex took a beat in though, but. Took it well very well. Still flew off with two riders. So yeah, like bigging up sideax here, Siax was Direx took a lot because six was right in there. You know, it's like you're on the front line, You're going to take some damage. Yeah. I felt like there was a big gap between Damon running off to Mount Kraxis and then Damon actually jumping in. There was a big gap where Cyrex took a lot of damage. I'm like, where's back up? Why there's two other dragons there? Why is Siax taking this beat? Yeah, So that kind of, like I don't want to say, irked me because like it was just me feeling for the dragon. I don't like the dragons getting hurt. I know, there's this feeling the dragons. The dragons aren't making the decisions here, they're just being defensive. Well in a way they were, though. The dragons were like, we're going to fight now, and we need It's like get the way. In terms of being put in that position though they're just reacting. Of course, of course, wouldn't. They were like, it's it's instinct, isn't it. It's the dragon bond. They sense the tension there. I do not have a basins. I might use that at work. Is that what I'm taking ghosts for a walk. I do not have a basins. What she said I thought it did not a baby, but you're one sounds better. I hope that is what I think. So you might have to check that. But anyway, you should make that. You should use it anyway. Have used it when Mayzie chases Dear Yes, or the Postman? Yes, I apologize. I do not have a basins. Brilliant. So yeah, great dragon fight, great action, the slashing, the biting. There was that moment when Craxies and see Smoke both had sheep stealers mech and I was just like, oh, this dragon is going to die. I genuinely thought there was going to be a dragon in our rip tonight. Yeah. I thought so too. And do you know what if if they did do that? I mean, it doesn't serve the fire Witch in the Mountains plot, but sheepstealers kind of plot line as far as Fire and Blood is concerned, is done. Yeah, sheep stealer doesn't really do anything else, so to kill sheep stealer off. Now, I wouldn't hate it. I wouldn't like it, but you know what I mean, doesn't serve Rhina's witch in the Mountains thing. But at the same time, I think Jane Aaron kind of covered that with her one liner that I hated. It was so quite, it was just one line. I loved the scene. I thought it was great Damon bursting in there and she's like, oh, here we go. You're interrupting my metime with my lovely lady. Living amongst nettles and sheep. That was it, living amongst nettles and sheep. Oh God, like I was practically expecting brooch. It was so corny, But I will forgive it because the rest of the scene was great. I did enjoy the scene. But if there's one or two cheesy lines here and there, I can love with that, like rather than forty five minutes of cheese a couple of episodes ago. Do you have any other thoughts? I do not either, do so keeping it dragon? Did you see the Jobby bomb? No Jobby bomb? There was a giant dragon boop where I'm going to have to pause and show you this. Let's do it. I have to show you. Okay, wow, that is a massive turd. Yeah, you could weaponize that. You could take down cities with that. Definitely, so coming up on screen for you? What was on screen for you now, guys, if you didn't catch it in the episode? Wow? Yeah, So like when we were joking a few episodes about jobby bombs, but now that you see one could actually. Fair. I could see that in like a tread. It almost feels like, you know, they're listening to us Jobby bomb and sorry, I just pictured it. The splat is what I'm wow. Just wow. You know, if we saw jobby bombs being used at Dumbledon next week, I'd actually feel like it's been set up. You kind of love one to just whack ormond. Oh definitely, definitely. We saw some human Jobby bombs could do last week. Imagine what a real dragon Jobby bomb could do. Oh that's instant death. His stomach would be on the floor. Yeah, he's not going to smell anything. He's gone. So I'm kind of glad you didn't see that because I got to show you. Yeah, this is a reaction, So I love the bit with Damon with a lady Jane, and he's like, give me a day please. He was so humble, like didn't want to be There was a bit of an eye roll to the to the police, but he did it. So yes, that just brings us to our last dragon moment of the episode. Is it dream Fire? It is dream Fire? Wow? Wow, a stunning dragon. Yeah, so glad we got to ra see it. Sorry, I'm laughing here because I'm remembering a streamer watched earlier when someone in the chat went, why did they recash dream Fire from that silhouette dragon we got in season one they recash? That made me laugh. But yes, dream Fire beautiful, this purply blue color going on, very cool colors. The crown of horse round was cool, very very cool. So loving that we got to see dream Fire. I hope that's not the only time we get to see dream Fire. I mean, if they're following Fire and Blood, we should see dream Fire again. But one can't be sure with this adaptation of where they're going. But very cool colors, very cool crown. So I think that brings us to the end of the dragon section, but straight into Helena. I suppose brilliant that's exactly where I wanted to go. Fabulous. So Helena is the opening scene. Of course, we get this first dream of her. She's in this abandoned courtyard. It's the Red Cape. Yeah, it's abandoned. You saw that instantly. And of course there's this gray horse, which may also be described as a pale mayor. Yeah, which I don't know how well you know your Bible, but that's straight out of revelations. I actually know nothing about the Bible. It's so it's four horsemen stuff, the horsemen of the apocalypse, and I believe that it's Death himself that rides the pale mayre. All right, Okay, so it's an. Omen of death, but not just in the real world, but also something George is used as well. So he's used the pale mayre's symbolism a couple of times. And the TV show tried to do it in that very last episode with Aria, you know, when when everything goes kind of silent and Aria just finds this horse, and I think this was like Ari, and it was supposed to symbolize Aria as a rider of death. It was fucking shite, But anyway, tell us how you really feel about that. It was fucking nonsense. But anyway, the other way that George uses it as well is there's actually a disease in the world. They've got a little bit of an outbreak of it somewhere in the Lower kings Land, and at one point in the story and the there's another breakout of it, and marine embarrassed and sell Me tells you about It's quite common kind of breaks out in army camps quite a lot, called the bloody flux but also known as the pale Mayor, and it just sweeps through the camp. It can take out three out of four soldiers in an army if it starts spreading. And I'm just wondering if that's what this is symbolizing, perhaps maybe not the illness, but maybe an omen of death. Yeah, her second dream, the horse was there again. Mad notes for that were just four words. It was birth, death, summer, and winter. Okay, interesting, that's kind of what I took from that. So I took it as three different possible futures. So one in which she has her son but it's taken away from her, another in which she decides to fight and she has to kill in a sense. Yeah, and the third where she tries to live happily ever after with her children. But oh yeah, you're in the Long Night. So it's that there is no one. It's it's a lose, lose, lose, there's no way out. She's kind of stuck. That that long night thing, the eclipse. Oh my god, Like I was like, ah, it's amazing. That was my first thought, and then my second thought was no, but that is a good one that was in there, definitely, But my next thought was, fuck David light Bringer's going to be doing backflips. He was rather cheasing on the stream actually, but can't you lame them. It's his it's heading to words, his moon meter, you see, he quite swiftly. But anyway, Yeah, love that long Night symbolism, Love that the eclipse thing. Very cool, very dark, ominous futures for Helena. This story doesn't have a happy end. And are you paying attention? For sure? So we've got Helena's dreams kind of discussed. But what about blink twice if I'm the rightful queen? Ah, oh dear, that was a bit nuts. Yeah, she's really shown her crazy now. Yeah, definitely want to hear the clip. Yes, let's do. It, sister, I believe that you. Maybe a dreamer, but you try not to sound too excited. See things. I see for flashes, sometimes sometime clearer than others. What did you say last. A Graemer? M hm, trying to distill interesting? Just what of Damon? Have you seen him? The winter Wolves? Then? Or Tumbleton will Ormond High Tower be brought to Hughes. I don't know, you don't know, or you will not say, Dear, you may refuse me as your sister, but I may compel you as your queen. Now tell me what do you know? Tell me there has been a mistake that I will prevail, as the gods must surely intend. Tell me, well, I'm just gonna say, Anita, you know you'd catch more with sugar than you do a stick. Sonny Darling, You're paranoia is showing. Yeah, yeah, put that away. That was a bit much. Clearly, the cutting her finger last week has got her rattled about omends and not just the omens, And it's the perception. It's like how the people will actually view the fact that that happened, if anybody saw it, et cetera. They're going to the world is going to see that the throne is Spurneder, even if it doesn't actually have that power. That's what the people believe in. That's so George. It's like, that's such a George way, right. It doesn't matter what the truth of the matter is. The actions that people take because they believe in something is what causes the fallout and creates the plot. And we love it so very cool. Any thoughts on that? No, on this, Yes, there you go. So in the title sequence, we have some changes. Yeah, they've been updating it every week, but I'm not entirely sure I've been following it as clearly as I did last season. I think I have four new ones. Right, So we have Rania, Saria and Damon with Cyrax in the background. I think that's what was there last week though, Yeah, I think that's what it is. I don't know if I saw that, I might have missed that. And we have Kristin Cole. Yeah, yeah, that's definitely Kristin Cole seven pointy star and. Arrows in the face and chest. What I don't get. So there's a there's back to back figures which look like they're dressed in black. They have dark hair. Yeah, they're sitting in a pool of blood, and it looks like a man and a child. The next one. Is they're they're they're green, they have lighter colored hair, but they're also sitting back to back in a pool of blood. Yeah, does anybody know what these represent? Can we have some of our listeners even just have a stab at it? Yeah, in the comments plates, guys, because we have no idea. Maybe it's supposed to represent greens and blacks all dying in the name of is it's to be specific people, I don't know. It's usually in retrospect, so you're know it's not going to be anything that hasn't happened yet. No, not foreshadowing, No, because the. Only one I had a theory about was is that Ormond and thereon? But that's not the way the tapestry's done. No, And if it was Ormond and thereon, then who are who are the other two? The other two? Because it starts with the blacks and then it flips to the greens. I would have had a guess, is it's something to do with the dragon riders, But there's no dragons. There's it looks like a man and a child because of the. Size, and yeah, it definitely does. So come on, guys, help us out here. Yeah. Absolutely. If you guys have any thoughts on this, drop them in the comments. We love to read them. If you don't want to be in the comments, you're very welcome to send a private message on Facebook. I'll have a chat with you. Just get in touch please. Yeah, definitely, we want your feedback. We're sending the bet signal. We're sending the dragon signal. Yes, okay, So next section, nice story needs more incest because there wasn't enough incest in Firing Blood that you know, the House of the Dragon team thought we needed more. Yeah, not for me, I'm afraid. I just don't see why. I mean, the time you realize it was a dream, it was too late. I was already vomiting. So when I knew it was a dream, I knew it was a dream from the fucking beginning. Yeah, but then I started to doubt it, and then I was silently sick. I think, you know, we all get the targetary and stuff, and we know that happens. However, Allison never went to Harron Hall in the books take a shop. So I just don't see why that it's just minging. Ask my again, but why why is all I have to say. For sure. Let's hear Alice's thoughts on the matter. I'll not be. Coddled or admonished like a witless child. Tried carefully with her. She has come to do you some ill. She is my blood, and. That's without blemish. She's always had a secret, most of them, poorly. Cat My designs for our future did not include your mother. You want me for yourself. There's a fog that surround her. She has come to do you some evil. You'd be wise to keep your dog thoughts to yourself. Turgerian boys all want the same thing, don't you. M m you might be onto something, then, analyss. Although we're not entirely sure whether you're planting the dreams or just watching them. It's just weird. It was all very weird, but outside the weird incest thing going on, I forgot what was going to say. Now, I'm just I thought about it again, and I'm not vomited them, amouth. I don't see how it enriches the story. It doesn't like we already got that we had the kiss. We already know that Ammond has a thing for his mum. We didn't need it last season with Damon either. No, it doesn't enrich the story, none of them do. But because they did one, it does make sense to mirror it with Amond. But we've already had the kiss. I don't think we need I don't think we need that. It could have been implied. Yeah, I get that they're trying to do this, like Haron Hall parallel between Aimond and Damon thing, and that's why they've done it. But I just didn't think they needed to do it with Damon in the first place to parallel it later. Yeah, That's where I'm at with it. It didn't enrich the story in anyway. It didn't enrich the character arc in any way shape or form. Aimaned having this weird thing with these mum came across, like you said, And I didn't think we needed that either now that think about so now it's surplus to requirements this plot, certainly the incest part of it. The other part the fact that Alison's harn Hall and stuff. Yeah, it didn't happen in the books, but I found some of it meldly entertaining. Yeah, Alice, that awkward dinner. The dinner was funny. Why is she? Who is this woman? Where did you meet her? Like? Who is she? Like? Why is she here? What did your lord tell you to help them? No? I do my own thing. Thanks. Oh yeah. Yeah. It was very, very awkward and it was quite entertaining, Alison scrambling for sorry before I move on? Are you're looking for a note on that point? Before I go with? Your girlfriend doesn't like me? So I'll just go and behoove you. So I had to look it up and I'm like, I mean, I inferred what it meant, but I was like, I have never heard this word me neither, and. I had to double check because basically what you would think it implies that it's doing the right thing in the situation. I'll just move on and leave you with your girlfriend, Yes, I'll get your way. Yeah yeah, I'll just kill you first and then move on. Yes, yes, that's healthy. So I have thoughts about the night Shade, So I damn well said there was something going on with the night Shade. Wasn't what I thought though. I thought it was something going on with Helena and the night Shading. Yet Helena was just there to teach us about the night Shade and accidentally teach Alison about the night shade too. Yeah, well that was contrived, wasn't it. M It was a bit I thought it was deeper than that. I love Very stumbles in and he's been poisoned. Idiot, idiot. And she was so calm there too, she was absolutely calm, like I've got the antidote in the back room. Yeah, yeah, I did fucking warn you you too. Your toxic mother has it's poisoned you. I'm going to sort it out now. Oh, we've all had a boyfriend with a toxic mother? What I have? Maybe? What? Right? So we're entirely grossed out by this? Why do you think I think Alison has got the antidote in the back room? What do you think? Oh? Yeah, yeah for sure. But then what's going to happen to Alison? Who is hoofing it? She's behooving herself, just behooving herself down the King Road, which is fraught with danger. I think she's going for a wee bath. Got Laris on the road though as well? So could they cross paths? I mean, look what happened with Tyland and Egon. Would that be too much coincidence? I think so? But yeah, we have like that's pretty dangerous out there on her own. She's got no one to watch her back. I don't see her making it far in those fine robes. Well, I'll just have to wait and see you, won't we. I actually think the safest thing that could happen to Alison right now is that aim and catches her. No. I I think if she looks hard enough, she can find Varis's time machine. Well, she certainly used it already. Yeah, that's how she got there in the first place. Yeah, she could be okay after all. Yeah, that's why she goes for the baths. That's how you access the portal. Oh, Alison needs to take a bath. Alison is like spiraling down the sin spent, the sin vortex, the sin vortex, that is it. Alison is very far do She needs to take a bath and cleanse, and. She needs that girl needs to cleanse, tone and moisturize. After that scenario, yes, yes, same. She doesn't even seem the slightest bit flinched about it either anymore. You know, you know, like last season she's like, kill my boys. I couldn't. She's like line them up so Adrian, he didn't last long, No, bless him. No, I don't even think it came and was like that paranoid in that moment. It wasn't paranoia. I it was just like covering his bases. I was just like, I don't really know if you're going to stab me in the back here, but I think I'll just kill you anyway now. I think after his mad sextreme with his mum and then she literally turns up and says the same things and touches his face in the same way, I think his paranoia was off the charts and he's just looked at this guy and went, this is too much fucked up stuff for one day. You need to go. I can't process anything else right now. You need to go. Goodbye. Although while she said the same things and touched his face in the same way, she didn't say the things in the same way. So when she said like in that dream sequence, she was very loving and tender and it seemed very genuine. Well that was his first clue, Yeah, exactly, I should have picked up on that. Yeah, so nice exactly. But then in the second scene, what was the line that she used twice? It was You're all I have left or something like that, Yeah, You're all I have. And in the dream sequence it was you all I have, and the real scene it was you. All have hug and it was all please don't kiss me. Yeah, Olivia Cook acted her ass off in that scene. It was great playing the two different versions of Alison, and then we had Olivia Cooke playing Alice Rivers playing Alison as well. It was it was very complicated scene and it was it was very well acted. I thought it was very good. It was like not even being comedic here, but like that girl leads I draw her. Her eyes are constantly popping out of her head in these last few episodes, like the whole in fact, the whole season. She's just like there's a lot of eye acting going on, Like. If my eyes were that wide for that long, I would need some seriors eye drops for sure. Definitely any other thoughts, Unharden Hall. No, what's that other Alison clip? Oh? Yeah, that is the This is their convincing aiming to drink the poison. So let's have a listen. Your friend, Alice, she's not my friend. If I'm disturbing some understanding, but. Perhaps not come I will. I will take my leave. If that would booth you. I brought you something. Yeah, my aim is to use behoove in a sentence by the end of the week. Spice twine, good dame. Remember a time when you would not fall asleep without it? Oh, she's a manipulative cow, isn't She. Just doesn't trust you. Listen to that, Amen, that is your instinct speaking. Who do you trust? I tried to go like, eh hm hmm. It's last year's newze. I know, wow, did you? Though? I don't know if my oldest had been am if my middle had attempted to assassinate my oldest, I don't know if I'd be like I know I have got favorites. You fucked up, That's fine. I'm just behoove myself. Definitely. My challenge for you. With using behooving a sentence is you'll get extra points if you can use use abeysins and behoove in a sentence. I don't know anybody that would understand me. Yeah, on you, you can use it in front of me, though, yes. I will tick both boxes. I gat twenty minutes that I will be through for a couple of days. You can boovehself, but. You have no abaysin. That was that was all kinds of weird. But still very entertaining at the same time. The whole dynamic, the acting was off the charts on all all counts. Gail ranking brilliant you and Mitchell always brilliant. He's such a nice guy in real life, he's so nice, but the second that eyepatch goes on or that blue sapphire eye, he's just fill creeple, full on creeple. But I felt for him in this episode. I mean, totally stuck between the girl and his mom, and she totally manipulated him. I think they both did. Oh, they both did, without a doubt, but only one of them tried to murder him. One's trying to take life, the other one's trying to create life. Yeah, no, one's really caring for Ammond. Oh. Actually, I'm just having a flashback, but that's not the right turn of phrase to the sex scene. When it switches back to Alice, she said, what did you see? So she obviously wasn't privy to whatever vision he was having because she looked as surprised as he did when he suddenly stopped. So I'm thinking that was between him and the werewoods, right, But she also seemed to know about it, or maybe she just sends the rap as complex. Ye who knows. It's all very creepy and I don't really want it to go any deeper. Can we just move on now, please? Yep? Right, okay, good with that next section. I'm still Missy from the block. Oh oh, she's such a cringe in this episode. She is. I much preferred her dress this week though, Yeah, it was very flattering. I'm not sure, like, so she's pregnant Sonoia Mizuno is pregnant and they're trying to hide this. Last week's dress was quite ill fitting, I felt, and I did not like it. I didn't pick up on that, actually I. Thought it since the beginning of the season. There was lots of other things that were shit that. Maybe that's why I didn't know us. I don't know it's a weird superpower I have or something, or just an observational skill, but I feel like I can always tell when a woman's pregnant, like something happens in her face, and I saw it in her face an episode one. Do you know, that's not what I thought you were going to say. I thought you were going to say your superpower is spotting women with ill fitting clothing. On because I have been your friend for a long time, and I've heard a lot of comments where you've said, oh, that's a bold choice, or. I have that power too. But no, it's it's this I've done. Happened a lot in TV shows. You're just sitting there watching the TV and I go, Oh, her face looks different. Is she pregnant? And then I look it up and she is. On this occasion, I looked it up and found no information and thought maybe I was wrong, until the last couple of weeks when I've heard lots of people talking about, Oh, she's pregnant, she's pregnant. I wonder if she's having a boy. Because the only time my face was pregnant is when I was pregnant with my son Ah. Both my girls were. They found that I was. I found I was not pregnant in my face or anywhere else in my body other than where I should be pregnant, whereas my son, I was pregnant sort of from head to toe. I never thought about that, but now when I think about it, the best selfie of my life. I was five months pregnant with my daughter, so that there was no face but girls kind the girls are kind to the face. My neck was pregnant with Robert going on there. Yeah, so I guess was. And I'm thinking that these are maybe filmed out of sequence. So hence the bigger bagg air dress in last week's episode compared to this one, which was much more fitted and yet loose, loose enough to hide the bump. If you're looking for it, you can see it. I didn't notice it on the first watch, noticed it on the second watch. But this dress was stunning. I loved it. It was really, really nice. Sylvie had other opinions. Yeah, that dress is worth more than a year's wages for her. It was beautiful though. The embroidery it was, it was lovely. Shall we hear Sylvie? Only she's slagging off the throne, little cock standing up to attention or something? That was it? Yes, Sylvie digging at the throne was one hundred sharp little cocks, all vying for attention. That was a great is that metaphor analogy? Similarly, it's a funny. She did a funny. It's a funny. I'm too tipsy for grammar connection, right, So let's hear the clip. You are changed, Oh, spooky, this. Has changed you, I want to say, in that. Room, is with the downtrodden as it has ever been? Is it? Or have you start yourself a champion in order to access these holes? Look at you. Standing at the foot of the throne, wearing a silk worth a year of my earnings, promising to whisper it into the ear of a queen you thrilled now to attuned you once a board. Does it not occur to you that from this position I may help those who have no avenue? Power? Do you have in truth except to flatter and gajol? Fair? Is that you called me here to look on the trapping so that someone would hold you in all? This was a mistake, how common I must saying to you? That will be all. Some advice, my lady, These. People are not your own. You would do well to remember that. Within the walls of the high bone, a whole will always and ever remain a hole. I see why Sylvie's mad, like she's absolutely overstepped the mark there, saying hmm, well, while Nia's not here, like, I think I'll just hold court because Nida said she's not going to do it. So it means that people can come to me and I see why. Selviy's like, are you fucking joking? Love, You're placing yourself between us. And you think you can take the place of the queen, that would be acting as hand of the queen. Yeah, and she's just have the. Station to do that just nowhere need it. Yeah, she's she's. There's a lot of layers to that. First of all, Befo, I forget. I'd just like to talk about the reverb and that scene. It was very spooky and it. Was very Jimmy cricket. This is the voice of your conscience. Is, isn't it. I didn't think of that, that's Yeah, it seemed to hit harder when you're just hearing audio only there. So any of you guys that were there watching on the video version, put that back and close your eyes. Like it. Just listen to that. That was powerful. Just a little bit of reverb just changes the dynamic of a scene. Love, the sound department. The sound apartment are fab They're on fire. They are so good. See what I did. Yeah. We also had the moment when we Neira realize that sheep Stealer was still out there with a rider and she got that ringing again. In New Years and I'm starting to get it's it's a it's a theme. It's almost becoming like a sting for Nidas receiving bad news. Yeah. But yeah, so the sound department are great, But definitely that scene with Sylvie, there's there's so many layers to that. I mean, there's that line, for example, when she says, once a whore, always a horror. Basically that's I mean, I'm paraphrasing here where the kingdom will always see a whrror. And then later on in the episode we see Massaria resort to those ways and she's like, Okay, I'm in the shit here. I'm going to use my feminine wells to get out of it. So that was that was definitely. Penny be arsked to that scene. Either it's just surplus to requirements I feel, I mean yeah, I mean they're talking the books of her, Damon and Misaria all having threeesomes and stuff like that, but this seems very private between her and Massaria. It's it's its own thing. It's not just kinky fun no, and so. No, it seems like people are catching feelings here. Yes, yeah, it does, and I just I don't know if that's necessary. Not really not for those characters. I don't think it's necessary. No, it's not. It's not going to go anywhere. And now if they've done a kinky fun scene. Yes I would get that. But yeah, the whole sort of it's like they're falling in love. Yeah, and I just don't think that's no necessary, No, I don't either. It doesn't enrich the story. I don't think. No, not for me either. It's not dwelling it too long because like. No, it probably won't last. It's probably just Nah, I can see that whole it's going to becoming across that way because they're doing it tastefully. Yeah, yeah, maybe, And it's inclusive and it's important. It's important for communities to be represented. And I'm okay with that, yeah. But that's not where I held the issue. I held the issue with the there being a romantic sort. Of falling in love. I don't have time for that. Seen there a bit like I don't No, No, everything's supposed to be falling apart, Like. No, I mean I genuinely think that that's on the verge of falling apart. Anyway. We'll see where it goes, though, because there's there's a good chance this is just a set up for another stab in the back for Ranida, another let down, another hurt, another reason. Already stabbed it in the back a couple of times. She just doesn't know about it yet. Yeah, so, like you say, catching feelings, it's going to make that blow harder when it happens. So, well, what we've what we've not does enrich the place lot slightly. Yeah, yeah, now we're talking it out. What we don't have is the Damon and Nettles thing where she's very jealous. So this could be her heartbreak Masaria, could be her heartbreaking or I don't know where you would find the jealousy in it because we've not got that far. But yeah, this might be what that is. And yeah, so maybe it is. Maybe it does serve the plot actually, because we don't know what plot they have intended for it, So maybe there is a way for this to trigger when as paranoia further. It's really the only thing I can think of other than it being just a bit pointless. Yeah, yeah, if that's where they're going with it, it is set up. So we'll see the jury's out, we'll wait and see. Absolutely, do you have any other thoughts on Missaria from the block. No, no more thoughts on that. Oh, it's probably a good place that we can move on to another love situation. Oh yes, we call this section cross Wires and dragonfires awkward. It was let's hear the club brilliant. I beg you for a kindness. My father wishes for Alan and me to be legitimized and take the Valarian name. The queen has been reluctant. You know my standing after the gullet. I do not think my words would have much sway with her. But your father perhaps. Why this concerned now with names and titles? I understand your grievance, but surely you have a better thing in your dragon than any lordly appellation. It is only that if either of us were to marry, that is, if either of us gained the favor of some high born lady. Oh he has spoken to you then? Oh no, no, brother, Oh you can hear the smile on her lips. No, I would just like to say you called it. Wait what is that sea smoke? Yeah? Like, oh just died inside saved by the dragon roar. Oh it's so awkward. I don't know what to read into this because I mean, Baila was definitely feeling something for Alan there. But then when she realized that Adam clearly likes her too, there was a moment of confusion. She was like, oh, wait, you are quite hot. I don't. Is it a love triangle? Is it lopsided? Is it a way of I'm going to do it again take a shot, guys? Is it a way of bringing book Bela into it? Because book Bela is actually she likes the boys. She likes to test the waters and see what's out there. She's not one for being just very quickly settled off into marriage. So yeah, maybe that's a way of. Loosely adding some character development. Yeah, I don't know, some indecision or some awkwardness. Awkwardness is definitely a word of the Jews, indecision. It could be on the card. I felt so sad for Adam though I told you. Though I said I said he was flirting with her, he was, he was, And it went right over her head as well as yours. Yep, I was firmly in camp Bela, like what No, No, he was just being like family. Yeah, nope, new, damn it. There was something else I was right about in this episode and I can't remember what I was. All right, nobody likes the smart ours. Oh that was a big one too, moving on, No, no, no, no, it was Helena. It was about Helena. It was I said weeks ago. Maybe this is a spoiler thing. Yeah, this is a spoilers That's okay. I'm just going to stop there forget right. Okay, where are other than very awkward? Do we have any other thoughts on Bail and Adams scene apart from the big giant jobbi bomb in the background. Oh? As if the scene can be more awkward, I know. Shall we have a little respite giggle with a small council meeting? Yes, let's do that. Frankly, it is outrageous. There's a campaign against me, jeering in the streets. My own daughter found the doorstep of my city dwelling smeared with some sort of foul matter. What's going on with that accent? I don't know what you want me to do about it, My queen with inspect in front of petitioners, you named me responsible for the current financial grievances in the city. I hardly will. What have you done to alleviate them? What can I do? I have advocated for attacks. It has fallen on deaf ears. Dribbles of gold are spent as fast as they are gathered. It's as if I have been installed here as some sort of scapegoat. Yeah. With that moment, Messalia there drinks her white, She's like, nah, I'm fainting. This Really hard to listen to it because as soon as I just heard the accent there, I can't concentrate on anything else. He's saying, Say, I was watching it, Yeah, I didn't notice when I was watching it. I just found the whole thing really funny. I did immediately. I wanted to the accent. I can't unhear it, and speaking the rest of it really hard to concentrate on. But it's like, I've you made some sort of scapegoal. Oh dear, Yeah, I was thought his accent work was okay in previous weeks, not this week. No, let's hear the rest. You're from White Harbor, not New York, not Pearl Harbor. What you did? Okay, let's hear the rest of the clip. Then, has there been anywhere from Lord Corners Nope, From Harron Home Nope nope. And Diamond no. Absent the Princess on some. Errand of his own, the keepers saying he flew out of the city before dawn. The river host are but a day is marked from Tumbleton, your grace and the Valarian forces will be at King's landing on the Mora. I have a reputation to uphold. If Sir Adrian has been successful in his endeavor of nourse, then there is the small matter of take it. Great, returned to the twins and lead the men you have left there to harn Hall. I am so set of your away man gladly. If Aimond is dead, all the better, But in any case you shall occupy it again and leave no place by return Queen. I named the scene Haronhall, giveaway and budget blues. Okay, so we do have to talk about his accident worklear that was that was pretty bad? Oh yeah, disappointing, which is a shame because it's detracted from a funny scene. I was thoroughly enjoying the scene until it was pointed out. And you can't unsee that or unhear that. Once you've heard it's it's difficult. But otherwise it's a great scene. Yeah, you need the visuals to appreciate the humor. Yeah, there was a lot of good face acting inside eye and everything going on. Shrugs of the shoulder, hence that Nope, but on all funny clip. Love that this has come full circle with the let's make Tor an escapegoat thing. Yeah, that was interesting. Sabbath Afray also really funny. Oh yes, a light in that. Yeah, Sabbath. Sabbatha Frey is having her best day, isn't she. Well, I don't know, like book Sabbatha take a shot, Yeah, Spooksabatha has a thing with Black Alley. If I'm not mistaken, I don't remember. Yeah, there's on it and implied a fair between those two. Oh yes, yes, I do remember. Oh there you go. I think they've got a big age gap going on there that it feels like, oh I don't think I could see that happening in the show. Might be something they just skim over, but we shall see. But I love that it's just like, just take it, just go, just go away. Stop whining, please leave any of our thoughts on the council scenes. There wasn't a lot going on there, so I think that basically takes us across to Tumbleton to see what's going down over there. I've got this Zero Fox given Sea Snake edition. Nice. So there's a lot going on there. First of all, we've got Gwayn running back and going. There's twenty thousand rivermen on the way. They were like a day and a half away, two days at the most. And Ormond's just not bothered, no, and Gwen's kind of sad about the death of his friend. Yeah, Ormond is not a supportive cousin. No, He's kind of rubbed his face in it a little bit, didn't he. And you saw that moment with gwenne one when he says that yours Dornis friend had died, and another once Ormond had walked off and he had a moment of contemplation, and later with Darn as well, actually Daron acknowledged it, sorry about your friend. I heard. Haven't heard this interview firsthand, but I heard that Fabian had apparently said that if that's what you guys wanted infer from their relationship, that you go right ahead and have fun. Ahabs. Yeah, so bromance is officially on the table. May be a cute couple, they would, oh, except for those red flags in another time, in another world. So the atmosphere here at Tumbleton is like it's really weird, Like everybody seems to be rallying waiting for, you know, this big attack, and everybody seems scared except Ormond. He's a man with a plan, isn't he is the man with the plan? I have what is the line? He uses a piece on the board or something like that. Oh what was that. In that opening scene, the one where he talks to Gwaene and gwen Quaene says to him, Oh, there it is, I've quoted it here. I have a piece on the board that will bring the bitch to her knees. All right, yeah. I immediately like, is this for his Corless? I mean, it could be either, but I thought he was inferring Corliss. Well yeah, But then there's this later scene with Darren and Gwyne talking and going is this his peace on the board and they seemed skeptical and it's like no, and we find out later that this is oolf Yeah for sure. But sorry, I'm in that opening scene. I wasn't thinking is this Cordless because I didn't know the Olf thing had happened yet, although I had suspected. Someone said last week that the jacket that Wenita got with the message on it was Wolf's jacket? Was it? I don't know. I meant to go back and check and I forgot. Let us know in the comments, guys, if you know there was a hint that Olf had already betrayed. People were talking about it last week, and I didn't pick up on whatever it was they saw last week. No, I was leaning more towards the fact that she said, kick this dog and it will bite your hand. Yeah, thinking Corliss is the hand, and that's all I read in that. I didn't read in it being Olf Stacker or anything like that. But apparently that's what went down, or at least according to some people. Well that's a bit bloody cryptic, is it not? Well, I went right over my head. That doesn't say much half the time anyway. I only in days that end with why. I think that's a reach, But whatever. I here we are, and yeah, you know, all those people that thought that last week are feeling vindicated this week. So shit, what's my chain thought? It's cosmotically buns came out. That's why you've flost You're trying of thought. That's what it is that I was doing. It. So yeah, apparently this was very clear, Like to some people, the O had already betrayed. But for me, I didn't get it till the end of the episode. You know, though I knew it was coming. Okay, she's pulling funny faces at me now, guys, like she's got the ugly bun and she's got her fucking teeth like fucking to read. Oh god, if you're old enough to remember, mister ed, then you're in good company, folks. So we are firmly and Ormond is the smartest guy in the room territory Again. I quite like when we're there kind of fun. Yeah, well, he certainly was giving out that vibe this week that he felt he was the smartest guy in the room. Well, that's that's his vibe, isn't it. That is completely his vibe. He low blow with corlers like low blow. Bringing up Rainy, going into Rainy. It was so wrong. Not okay, man, let's hear that clip. What are you about, hiawa? Is this some kind of final repast pigeon pie before the execution is blocked. We hope to enjoy the pleasure of your company for quite some time. You will be of great assistance to us in our little endeavor. That's what hostage. Does. The savage queen harbor such a tender heart that she should cast away her crown for the sake of her wayward hand. I think not. Valarians, however, with their lord as forfeit, men of Driftmark will think better of entering King's landing, and without. Them the city will again eat of its own disorder. All right, smarty pants, How will that help when the winter warves are clawing out our gates? Oh blasso, do. You know more? And more? I am inclined to limit my diet to the vegetable kingdom, just as the people of Nathy do. If you have finished with your instruction, What do. You see in them? Anyway? The targarian element element. You're a travel man. You've seen the world's wonders. Wirel limit yourself in tedious alliance to the brutish and the incurious. Your wife, of course, was of their blood ended all too predictably. Yep, I would think, hmm, after having seen how they devour one of their. Own, I would like to return to myself. As you please, Oh Lord Carlis, Before you go, may I have your finger? I mean just take the ring, man, just take the ring. Why did you taken the whole finger? That's so extra, That's. What Alan said the scenes. That's what I'd be back Arsolin said, true, though, that's extra. The ring would have been fine. Yeah, I forgot he said that till you did about with him one hundred percent, like the ring message cross is that what said? No, that's what I'm saying. We called the messages like. There was no need, no need. He's such a snake though that he sent it to Alan, didn't send it to Rania. He sent it like you said, It's like's not going to bother her hands. She's got bigger problems. But I send it to the Valerian men. They won't help Rania. Yeah, that's what he really wants. He's so clever, he's like two steps ahead. Is diabolical. So what I do find is this is like maybe unintentional, but finding this like callback to episode one when he was in the cabin with Alan and he talked about Alan's mum and Alan's face just said it all. Yeah. I felt the same vibe in this scene when Ormond mentioned Rainyes, oh yeah, just a little bit more intense. That might be ramon Joaddie. Carlos was like, right, we're run now, not listening to any. This. Yes, And while Ormond is very clever, very diabolical, or Carlos has got the measure of them in that scene, he's like, all right, I see you posturing so smug, so shuy of yourself, that in itself could be used against him if you could just get the hell out of there. Wows a finger a finger short for doing that. So, speaking of though, have you seen next week's promo? Finally fucking Tumbleton? Yeah? Oh my god, that's what I wanted this week. Yeah, I wanted it this week. I wanted the traditional penultimate then wind down in the final week. But we don't have a a episode in comparison to ten. So it's all out of whack because of the first two episodes being kind of the end of last season, and it's all very confusing. But we're getting there, right, We're getting there, and this looks freaking epic. It looks like it's everything we've been waiting for all season. I'm excited. I'm excited about where this is headed. Don't know how the fuck Cordless is getting out of that situation. Oh, I have to wait and see what we Yeah, we will. It just looks like it's all out battle. It was like Tumbleton, Tumbleton, a wee bit of something else, Tumbleton, Tumbleton, Tumbleton, a wee bit of something else. That's what the promo felt like. So I think it's going to take up a cute chunk of the episode. What's going on there? There was some a little few little details here and there that I'm like, Oh, what's going on there? Rneda grabbing Baila by the face. Yeah, what's that all about? Unacceptable? Indeed, but we shall see next week. Back to this week, let's just wrap this up because I mean, the dragons were the main point of this episode really. Everything else was just story building. But there wasn't too many story building points. I feel like there was only like five things over and above the dragons, and we've done three of them, four of them. So let's talk about Dren Well, Yeah, we. Have this scene with Corlis, etc. And then it cuts straight into this scene with Gwyne and Daron. You know what, Let's just hear the clip and let's hear Daron say it for himself. Using uncommon good spirits. M still here were on the eve of some great victories. He seems to believe that with Lord call is his peace on the board, he sounds frantic. What is the order of disorder of king's landing? Master was now with an army at the gates. I'm supposed to be the king? What sort of ruler am I am? I to sit by impotent while the madman offers us up for the saughter. Serially, and all of our men with us. Seems there's no escaping it. The dreams I might covering themselves in everlasting glory, somehow transcending humanity's common fate. I'm sorry, but your friend, he gave himself to the dust. I could order the army to surrender them, would have. Us all marched to the gallows. You could fly away onto Sarian without you as a bri He texts. How he would continue as he began. Absolutely, where would I go? Who would receive a king who left his own men to their ruin? I have an a fear of insignificant Quinn keep a crown for all? Like yeah, he sees it for what is He's a young kid, but he's he's really smart. He's smart, he knows the Ormond's a nutjob, and. This is he's honorable as well. It's not going to come to fruition, and he knows that, but it's futile to think of an escape plan. He can't save his men, he can't save him. He's just going to have to ride it out, and he just doesn't want to. It's so hard. It's such an impossible position for him to be in because he can see right through it. But it has no power, no control, He has no voice, even he has no agency. He has no agency. It's true. He tried to speak up and I say, well what good would that would do? And Army just shuts them down with a stare. I mean, honestly, at this point, is no better than Rania. No when it comes to having agency about his regency, Are they're one and the same. Well yeah, I never really thought about it like that. It was much the same for egg On as well. Everyone else was pulling the strings. When we look at Otto, for example, the true well, yeah, this is the power lies and the person that's this is where. The series succeeded and his children didn't because he used the resources that he had available to him like, oh, high tower. Yeah, his children haven't done that. They've been used by their resources. And yes, Visser's was used by Otto in some respect, but because he was. A grown man mm hmm and chosen. By Jeherries to succeed, Otto didn't have the same footing that the other high towers have had to manipulate others within the regency. I really thought about it like that before nod until now. Yeah, No, that's definitely that's only on. Rare, insightful moments that have full of wine. You know, I'm going to listen to this back after you've edited it and go, what was that? Okay, you know that's fair. That's fair. I would never have thought of that. Oh yes, I said that. Okay for sure. But yeah, it's a very difficult position for dayre On. He's he sees no way out. There's no happy ending. The sad thing is he's probably the most capable of the lot of them. Eggon, Rania Ormond, damon all the people that think they would do just such a great job of this. Well, Rinda's not in that I would do a better job camp. She's in that I was destined for this camp. My reign is preordained. You know that. That's where she's at. But the rest of them, they all think they could do a better job. Yeah, and Darren's probably the most equipped for it because he. Doesn't think he can do a better job. He just thinks about other people. And that's what a good regent does, takes care of their subjects. Yeah, and that's what he wants to do. He wants to take care of his men, his family. He's willing to put himself last. He would fly off on his dragon and leave his men behind. YEH. Can't say the same for his uncle. I think he would save himself should he get the opportunity. So has he been brought up in old town? Have the kindness, the innate kindness of Viceis and the. Intelligence of the high towers. Yeah, there could be something in that. I think Gwain is probably more of a mentor than Ormond really is. But Ormond's still someone to learn from. I'm going with nature with Deron rather than the nurture side of it. I'm a fan of both. I think both are equally important, but sometimes one one's out over the other. I think his character it's more nature that's shaped his personality that makes him a good It would have made him a good. King, definitely. And it's that recurrent theme that we see in Ice and Fire when the people that probably have the greatest temperament for it are the ones that will never actually ascend the throne. Like Baylor, don't cry, Please don't cry. Sorry I said, I said it. I shouldn't have said it. Moving on, there could be tears. She's still not over it. But yeah, the ones most suited and Darren is a classic example of that. I can't wait to see how this is all going to unfold at Tumbleton on a personal level, like the battle. Yeah, we're all excited for the battle, but on a personal level of all these characters and how it's going to play out for all them, who's going to die, who's going to live, how it's going to affect each other. Oh, I was going to say, that's that's so deep, man, That's so insightful, Like on a personal level that you're excited about that. I just want to see them fight and die. I want that too. That's that's where my head's at. But the one say, I've had so much personal development and season with these characters now can they just die? Yeah, I feel like I've had a greater character arcs and and. So we're back to the Stadler and Waldorf. I hated it. I hated it. I loved it. I loved it. Yeah, yeah, me with this episode definitely. But yeah, it's this thing where these people of like, there's all these personal relationships and how it's going to play out and how because spoiler alert, everyone dies, but how their individual deaths and influence and things are going to affect each other. And I feel like it's Humbleton. We have seen the most intriguing plot points of the season, and I am very excited to see how this all plays out. And I'm really loving day On. I'm really loving GWayne, I'm loving Ormond. But for different reasons, very different reasons. I don't feel like they're all going to make it out of this season alive. Talking about loving Ormond and a final clip that we have, yes we do. So the final clip is with Elf, and it's back to that loving Ormond and that whole weird character that he is. Yes, this the scene was great with the dialogue and what that means and what he's doing in his manipulation, But. Those two scented pillars that he has either. Side of them. I didn't see that. What did he have? You had like these little incense pillars like they're very. Laughed. I wish i'd seen that. That's so good, Deposit and look at like. I love the moment when he said when gret ail this in Ormand's face, It's like, were we see that is so good? I have just consulted the episode to see these incense sticks. That is just top notch picture on screen. Now, guys, if you didn't notice it before, that is so on point. Character characterization, the layers, the layers and layers to this sensory issue that Ormond has. I love that he's like pre emptied. He's going to stink of dragon. I already know what dragon smells like. Yeah, because of Tasarian. So let's bring the incense you we're going to need a we're wanted to bring in the big guns. And you can see the incense wafting off. Of it particularly next it all. Yeah, it's so funny, so good, and we're indicated in this scene that this is not their first meeting. First fall Wof says when we met last or the other way around, maybe anyway what they both say it. They both say there has been a previous meeting, as if to you know, drive that home in case you didn't pick up on it in the first time. I had no clue that this wasn't the first one until that. Yeah. No, there was nothing indicated previously to this scene to give that away other than Ormond's peace on the board thing. Yeah. So my first thought when I saw the scene initially not just the incense that made me laugh so much, and I was very focused on that, But my other thought was how has he managed to come and sit with him, put these incenses in and light a fire and without his dragon going nuts because he's supposed to be on watch on Watch it's a century. Yeah, so how has the Big bad been able to come and sit with them and just like have some elk Because it's not the first time. It's not the first time, and the indication is that it was prior to the incident in the streets with Daemon last week, because he says, since we met last I've heard that you had an altercation Withdemon. So when went out for that pint he already had. I'm assuming that this has happened after he's talkedown with Rinira. So I think it's happened in Kingsland in I think that it's been one of well, I'm just going to call them Ormond's little birds. Yeah, it's going to have been a something there, and that's been his opportunity to connect with Ulf. Yeah, it won't have been. He's just walked up to him outside the Yeah. No, that's too smart for that. No, that's that's not happened. No, they they've there's been secret going on and bottom. There's been some messages relaid back and forward there. I think, well, actually I can't read, so it has to be a verbal dialogue. Someone has to have said to him. Did you say you can read? I don't think you can read. I don't know why. It wouldn't surprise me. I don't know why I think that. But I'm sure there's something in. The show indication of some kind oh or not a bit. When it said queen of Bastards, did he not say what does it say? No? Because he told Rania what it said. No. But when he was in the street, I think he said to someone in the crowd, what does that say? One of the gold clocks or something and they read that and he said it says queen of bastards and he was like oh, and then he said to Raniera. I think you're right. I think you're right. I need to go back and have a wee look at that saying just to clarify, but I genuinely think you're right. Yeah, I think that happened. So there's not letters being passed. Then somebody's found them in a tavern somewhere when he wasn't. Supposed to be there, which is which makes Demon and Rania validated that. He's going to have been here. Yeah, because now you've been some high tower soldier puts a knife in your belly or what of once whispers in your earing recruits. Yeah, yeah, they've put words in your head instead of a knife in your belly. And that's even worse. That's way worse. That's exactly what's happened. Although Damon did his fair share of he did help in that situation, along as did Rania. Actually, I think we're led to believe here that the was on the fence until he got kicked in the street. And I mean, like really, Demon and RIrA, of course he was going to be on the fence of course, he was. Yeah, yeah, exactly, you've treated him like a prisoner. Basically, he's come to your aid and turned the tide of the war for you. He was nobody and he went through a terrifying event. Yeah, his was more comedic than everybody else's, but still terrifying. Nonetheless, silver Wing just wanted to cuddle or wanted to eat everyone. I don't know. I didn't really laugh at one though. He was like yeah, yeahs like okay, kill, okay, you're kill. Yeah, I like you, you're my people. Yeah, definitely, that was it. Your granddad, by the way, Yeah, your mom's kind of cool. Yeah, let's do this. But yeah, I mean, it's not completely clear exactly when he was recruited. We know it was before the Damon incident, but then even then, was he completely recruited at that point? Is it just like the ambiguity? I love that. I love the fact that they're making us think rather than dumbing it down for the fandom. Yes, yes, assumer intelligence, that's great. We like that, the assumption of intelligence. Unlike dressing a flail up as a morning star. Always listen to Star Swords. It works today, and there's a moment where the crows feet? What are they? There are cow drops, so they are cow drops in the book, they're not crows feet. So I think maybe this is another one of those morning Star situations. Situations. Yes, actually in the book it is the correct. Term, because of course George would use the correct term. Of course they would, and the House of the Dragon team have tried to be creative. Thank you. Okay, so moving on to our spoiler section, unless you have anything else, I say, elf, we had. The clip, we did we not do the clip? We did not. Let's have a listen. I have had word. Since we last spoke of the most distressing incident. My whisperers tell me that Damon Tigerian struck you. In the street. In front of all the commoners passing by, an intolerable insult to someone of your stature. Rude, but then it's almost to be expected from those people. She did tell me not to go into tell to be fair, ludicrous. A man needs his sustenance and cheer. Oh you sneaky dog. Raniera and her ilk regard you only as a tool to be used and reprimanded, whereas I understand. Who you really are easily manipulated. Mm hmm. You said last time that you could give me a lordship and a castle. Honey, no one wants honey hole. No one wants that. That's ah, honey hold is a trifle. It seems that drift Mark itself may soon be without a master. Lord of the tides. What do you think of that? See, I'm not sure that's a good deal. Being stuck on an island somewhere. They will laugh at you no more when they see you as you are. What lord of the tides? I'm laughing now, I will burn? Well, yeah, true story, sir. I got lost halfway through the clip because he said a man of your stature, and I just started thinking about the title that I had made for this section, which was a pint size betrayal. Yeah, you said a man of your stature, and I just kept thinking about it's pint size. Girl. Oh dear, But yes, this is it was very It was quite theatrical Macavelli, Macavellion, that is it. That is the word, the whole thing. Both Wolf and Ormond's wolf smile when he says they will burn, and he just flips into this really happy, cheery smile with a little bit of fucking madness in the eyes, very good face acting. Loved it, Love the scene, love the setup. Been waiting for this. How are they going to do this? How is this going to play out? This this betrayal. Part one of that question is answered now with. We had Hugh answered last week poorly. I'm still thinking there might be more to that. Are we in spoilers now? I think we're safe to call spoilers now. We're only a minute or two off it. Anyways, So yeah, the other half of that betrayal is, oh, it's huge. Spoilers, all people, spoilers. All we are in the spoilers section. Guys, if you don't want to know a bort otherwise, praise us for how long we've gone without dropping one spoiler. That No, you did not, No, you did not, Yes, you did not drop one. Not drop one. That's not even what I was implying there. Oh my god, no one was cutting cheese here. Anyway, Back to the spoiler section. I've always said that term is dangerous. Yes, like drop, I've dropped an album, I've dropped this, I've dropped that. You've dropped one. Please don't drop anything, No, do not drop anything near me thank you very much. Please don't But yes, spoilery. If that was all the setup we're getting for Hughes betrayal last week, then that shite, right. But if you know, I watched a video during the week that helped me sort of unpack what it was. I didn't like about it, and I just I didn't like a lot about it. But it was more a feeling than a I don't like that. I don't like that. I don't like that. And I watched the video and it was it's unearned. That was the general conclusion. It was like this, it's okay that Kat was annoyed with him. I think I said that last week. It just it just felt too rushed. It was weird. That's not how their relationship was. I get what she'd been through on the roads and stuff, but it was not where he was in his head. That's not where their relationship was together. It was just weird. I think the point that the video that I watched came back around it was that Cat is an underdeveloped character. She's a plot device. Yeah, we've seen this woman through losing her child, traveling on the road, bad things happening in our loss of our brother, blah blah blah, and we have no connection to her. She hasn't she hasn't been fed as a three dimensional character. She's a plot device for Hugh. She is. But we do have our own smarts and we can we can read into the dialogue there. But I think the problem for me lies with Hugh, and there's been character development. He is a three dimensional character, and it just felt like the putting hands on putting hands on his wife not his character at all. No, there's nothing happened with that character that would make him change in a guy that would put hand on his wife. Like No, it was too far fetched for me. Yeah, I'm not sure I quite give him three dimensions. I think he's two and a half. As far as development is concerned. We we've had a bit, but it could have been more. I feel like we should be. But there are other. Characters that I've had less and I have bigger complaints about that. Yeah, like Cali, Roddy, the Ruin, Geoffrey. These characters need more development, a lot more development. Do you have any other thoughts on the spoilery part of the wolf section before. We move on? No, not an elf. So that brings us to rip. So first of all, we say goodbye to Sir Adrian. He was an escort for the dowager Queen Allison, and also an assassin. To kill off Ammond. However, unfortunately his conscience chose the same week that Amond decided. Literally everyone was plotting against him, which, in fairness, is still a better legacy than dying for Amund's ego. Yes, may the Seven keep him. Yes, he tragically died of bearing the general vicinity of Alison Hydower's problem solving skills. He gave his life so the diasier Queen could go for a weapon list, completely unescorted, strolled in a war torn highway, truly a noble sacrifice, Rest and base. Next, we said goodbye to the Mooton House soldiers, who unfortunately became the fodder of the very recently resurrected Sunfire. A moment of silence for the brave men who discovered firstand that Agon's promise of death or glory leaned heavily towards spontaneous localized creamage. Ouch. Are you. Stood there patiently listening to a teenage boy scream about glory only to be instantly converted into well done toast? By a giant golden lizard, and finally we said goodbye to Amon's dignity, passed away quietly on the floor of Harron Hall, begging for help. Why his mother stared at him like he was an inconvenience who had just tracked mud onto the carpet. Rest and peace, Rest in peace. So let's bring this back around to Helena and what she sees. So we had a thing a conversation earlier on in the season, and I went off on a weird theory tangent regarding Helena, and it was about her looking up and like something was falling down on her, and I surmised that maybe she might be in the dragon pit. Ah, we just saw it in the dragon pit. Okay, we totally just saw it in the dragon Pit, which I'm thinking actually might be laying with some weight to this theory that I had, which I almost shrugged off right after having it and thought, oh, maybe I'm reaching there, maybe I'm seeing something that isn't there. But here we are this week. We see Helena on dragon back in the dragon pit. We know that dream Fire is the one that breaks the roof of the dragon Pit, and so maybe we are getting a different end for Helena, or maybe the really was right that that's one of three possible outcomes, and maybe it will only ever be a dream. But I'm holding out hope. I think there's something there and I'd like to see that play out. Do you have any other spoiler thoughts on that. I don't think I've got anything else. The other spoiler point that I'd like to talk about is Raina and what happens to her and Sheep Stealer. Now it's like they were going down this path of Raina is Nettles kind of the they were merging Nettles and Raina, and now Reina has been escorted back to King's Land and separated from her dragon, who looks like it's on its last legs. Yeah, so is this way of is this them course correct? Then? So in the short term what they would be missing out if they don't bring so in the short term, if they bring Raina back, then they can sort that girl shit out. Marrier off. She does the whole hatch. In Morning thing, her politic and yeah, she. Gets her shit together and what have you. Which she never lost her shit in the book. She was always she was always together. Yeah, but it means in the long term, we lose. The sheepstealer and Nettle's story. But if you're just going to go with the short term for the sake of this show, okay, I see what they're doing there. Yeah. Yeah, they've got enough of They've sparked enough of a legend of a witch in the mountains. Yeah. If you're going to keep Phoebe Campbell for season four, then you're going to have to do the proper Raina story and the hatching of Morning. Yeah. So that's where I think they're probably going to go with that. To keep her. Yeah, I think so. I would have liked to have seen. We've really bonded with that character, but with that actress, Yes, yeah, we have. I would have liked to have seen Damon and Raina off looking for Vagar as happens does happened in the books. I would like to say that would suggested maybe we will, Maybe we will. Maybe we're not done yet, yeah, mate, because we've got the dragon bond to think about, right, This dragon is not dead. He is BONDI to Raina. Now, he's very protective of her, and just because they've taken her back to Kingsland, it doesn't mean that sheep Sealer won't follow no, or Raina might run away. We we do need Demon to go to haronhall Well to do the whole god side thing. Yeah, so maybe that's what that is. Maybe there's a father daughter conversation of bonding. I feel like they hang out in maiden Pool or somewhere like that. I think it's Maiding Pool for a while. Maybe that's a whole Like Demon leaves with Reina and that sets Raniera off and fucks with her head. Could be, could be? And then and then the part company he goes, he has this fight with them and she goes off the sheep Steeler, they do the vagar thing. That's yeah, Yeah, maybe that's where they're going. To go with that. Definitely, it leaves it open. I like it that it is open. Yes, I like this open. I've accepted this plot line. And just when I started to accept this plot line, they looks like they've redirected back to the original plot line, which is a little bit hard to comprehend. But I'm rolling with it, so we shall see. I don't really have much more to say, You're just like, I'm really looking forward to seeing how this plays out. I think there is definitely the potential for more sheep Steeler because of that dragon bond. Yeah, the heck cups. One other thing we didn't mention actually was the rivermen marching down the road with Cole's head on a spike. Oh yeah, yeah, what a trophy. Mm wasn't he feeling that prosthetic? I know who was supposed to be? It wasn't their best Jason Lanister one was better? Yeah, I agree that that was a better one. Yeah, definitely.
