In this episode of A Cast of Ice and Fire, we're breaking down the absolute chaos of House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 5 (Unbowed and Unbent). ⚠️ Warning: Light Spoilers Ahead!
Larys Strong finally hits the end of his patience rope and snags the award for the best harsh truth speech, leaving a petulant, dummy-spitting Aegon to rethink his life choices. Meanwhile, up at Harrenhal, Alys Rivers is serving premier spooky witch energy—complete with bats and eerie vibes—while we dive into some speculation about weirwood paste as she mothers an emotionally wrecked Aemond.
Down in the Riverlands, Criston Cole and a deeply regretful, soaking-wet Gwayne Hightower lead a "march to death or glory" through literal bogs and leeches, until Gwayne realizes Cole is actually more interested in his sister than a tactical victory and completely peaces out of there. Meanwhile, Cole is left dreaming about white water rafting to his own dramatic destiny.
Back in the capital, Rhaenyra is descending into full-blown paranoia as a literal bloodbath hits the Gold Cloaks' barracks, and nobody will take her Vhagar panic seriously.

Keep it Unreal
I have been a servant all my life, the green or the black. I have defined myself by oaths, through unyielding devotion, and I born have made much of me while it Pleasedn't to do so. But I will not let them diminish me. Now. I will not return spurned, rejected. I am the Realm's greatest warrior. And I will die as such, clear eyed, unbent, glorious in battle, and not in their service, finally, but in my life. And then we'll sing songs of it. Queen Alison herself will hear them. Welcome to the unreal Hour. Hi there, welcome back. This is a Cast of Ice and Fire, numbered thirty one. We are here to cover House of the Dragon season three, episode five, which is called Unbent and unbroken. No, it's not, it's unbowed and I'm bent. I'm I'm I'm broken. That's what. Yeah, yeah, exactly. It's called unbowed and unbent. And they used the line unbroken in there as well. I think Ormond does, but unbid and unbent. It was written by Philippa Gosslett and directed by Nina Lopez Carrado. Coming up in today's episode, we will be talking about Christian calls march to death or glory. There's been a murder and joke for all our Scottish fans and the ghost of Haarenhall. We will also be discussing Rania's descent into paranoia. So overall thoughts, what did you think. It's a much better episode this week? Yes? What do you think in comparison to last week or just in general it's building? I think in general it's starting to gain some momentum. Yes, I was feeling that there was a definite feeling of it's building something, something's happening. I thought it was going to be something happening with Call and GWayne and stuff like that. I was not expecting the Last Supper. But we'll get into that later. Yeah, so you can go first. What would you like to talk about first? Let's go with Laris, Like cool, let's talk about Larice first. So Larice wins the oscar for the best speech of the. Episode, Oh, for sure. A few home truths. There was really it was great, wasn't it. Yeah, it was a really great scene. We'll wait here the clip to get us in the mid. Yes, I must say, you, Grace, what what is time? We've been together? From the moment you were injured, in fact, flying drunk into a battle to which you were not invited. You've done nothing but wings and so flagellate with tenacity. I find astonishing. You had every advantage in life, You who had every chance to shine, firstborn son, prince of the realm, the finest tutors, the finest knights instructing you on the sword, the dragons, so beautiful they named him after the sun itself. Mm hmm. You could have risen to greatness, but instead you trampled your birthright in the mud. He lazed, reveling in mediocrity, fucking anything in sight, and drinking yourself into oblivia with your sickophantic friends. His friends were losers, you really feel, tell you. The truth, you are a terrible king, the worse than man. You are a terrible man. Oh yes, coming from ladders strong, that is the deepest insult. Well, yeah, I was going to say, if you know, Laris thinks that little of you you really hit rock bottom. Yeah, less, Laris, He's tried, he's tried, He's held it together. He has and I think was it last week or the week before I really praised his patience yes, yes you did, and he's now lost the patient. We finally reached the end of that patients. That broke the camel's back there, isn't it. Because Eggon has been whining about Aimond, and yes, he seems to be on a bit of a mission to die, isn't he. Yes, yes, he's been reckless. He's just fueled by rage and revenge and much like his sister. Actually, yes, so that's actually that's a point. So there's that comparison there with Eggon and Runera, you know, on the vengeance trail. But then there's also another parallel with Aimond and Egon as well. As those scenes were back to back, So the juxtaposition of those two scenes was great. But if you asked Helena as well, she'd probably think that Alison loves her the least. Poor Helena, I. Know, just it sounds like it's a battle for the least love child. They're all just trying to get last place. Oh dear, that's quite bleaking. It's very bleak. Oh, I think Darren Winsley, the whole lot was was great. We've also got the next part with Laris and Eggon where they meet Thailand. Yeah, he is back and. Thailand and Laris are sort of going back and forth about what's the best course of action, and Egon's just in the background. They're contemplating that he's a terrible man and sneaky snitchers having a wheelsh. Oh did you notice the creepy guy from last week, the one that you said was skulking about in the background. He was whispering to him something first before he went off and started listening in on them. Yeah, I thought he was a weirdo. Yeah, there's definitely something going on with it. It seems like Laris's words have had a really profound effect. Though well, actually he's Funni mentioned it because during the scene while he's given that speech, Egon's face. Is like, isn't he he is? He's pissed off, but he's like, I'm listening, mm hmm. Carry on. He doesn't try to stop on or interrupt. He's like, I'm going to take this on the chin. Don't like what I'm hearing, and I want to spit my dummy out. But he takes it on board and he obviously contemplates, and you see that more in this scene. I quite like the just going back to before Laris. Gives his speech and Acorns screams, stop telling me what I can't do. Yeah, such a big baby. He was probably having his fits all over the blades. Yeah and then he Yeah, so back to where this guy discovers his crown and who he is. And yeah, I mean you can blame Laris in Thailand for the rest that they were just talking about it all in plain saty. He seems to have an outlet for his rage. Yes, so he's getting quite good at those ribstabsh. You can call me your grace. Okay, I don't think he's going to call you anything. But here we are. Gregor is it? Oh? Yeah, Actually, just before Thailand appears, when they're on the bench and it's after a Laris has given him the telling off, and Egan comes and sits down beside Laris and there's just this awkward silence. It's like, just hire the fucking ship. And then Larice gives him his apple and that's when Thailand appears. What fucking chip or what ship might that be? But yeah, I love that we seen so Yeah, they Latice and Egon again. Brilliant and they are stealing the show for me every episode so far except the one they weren't in. They still stole the show for me in the episode they weren't in, they were missed. Definitely, definitely. All right, So next section, what can we talk about next? Let's talk about the ghost of Hadenhall. Actually, before we do that, let's actually hear that b clip of Egon spitting his stummy out about Aimon and vice versa. Go on, say it, my dragon is dead. I'm a pathetic cripple, and there is no possible scenario in which I make it to Wendish Town to kill my stupid fucking bro. Should we? Should we return to the camp your grace. I don't care to be discovered here unguarded unless so and Darkness. For he was Colo's little pet. Do you remember a prodigy with the sword? Father withdrew me from the tournaments? Of course, can't even remember the pretext anymore, Probably just afraid that I'd fall off my horse, so I had to sit and applaud him aim and the champion. And such a quick student, fucking fluent. In high valierrium ulla ribas. It's an bradgri. I am sure character. I was a terrible king, But what I could have been given his fucking advantages, and mother indulged him, she loved him more, is the truth of it. Poor darling Aimoned and he's scabby little eye and now he's killed and fucking well knows it. Oh you jealous? A little bastard. Tom glen Carney is just he's so good. He's just so good at that wingy, whiney petulant thing. He gives the great woe is me speech? Yeah, definitely loving it. But yeah, so he's whining about the fact that mommy doesn't love me as much as she loves Aimond. And let's hear Aimon do the same. Queen says he's dead. Yeah, that you killed him. No, I do not know how much of that to blame. He's dead, sure not, let me be that's schad. I worshiped him, you think he did? No, I didn't get that vibe. Sometimes the child that graves, it's the one a mother loves best. How are you, oh, that has. Been grieved so much? To unpack there, It's all a matter of perspective, isn't it. Yeah, so let's start with unpacking Aimond. And yeah, perspective. He didn't come across like that. He came across like he kind of thought his brother was a bit of a knob and didn't deserve Like I'm thinking about him just before he claimed Vagar, when he was like, you should shut up and just get on with it because that's your job. I'd do a much better job. Yeah. I mean from the show as well. I didn't get when they were kids, Like way back in season one, I didn't get the vibe that Amond worship takene No. I mean there was definitely a bullying thing going on there that is undisputed, but it didn't come across that Amond was being bullied by his hero. Yeah. I agree. It's like a a mean revelation there. Maybe it's something he didn't know until that moment. Yeah, until I found out he was dead quotation marks. Yeah, I suppose I could get on board with that. There's certain things I've realized about myself back in childhood that I didn't know then, but I know now I can look back and go, God, you're a we aresehole. So yeah, perspective. But also that thing that Alice said about one who has been graved that seems like she's saying that she's was a mother. Yeah, that's that's what I took from that the line was sometimes the child who who grieves is the one who's loved the most. Yeah, who are you one who has been grieved? So maybe she's talking about Harron Hall as her baby. Maybe maybe she's talking about the Wearwoods as her babies. Yeah, maybe she just. Means the grief of losing I don't know. Well, the rumors were, like I mean, in the book and it's never really been mentioned in the show, but they talked about her potentially have been a wet nurse to the Strong boys like Larison what's his name? Carwin? Yeah, and then it says but then some and then but Mushroom says she's way older than that. She was actually a wet nurse to Lionel Strong. For her to have been a wet nurse, she would have to have been pregnant at some point. But there's no sign of any child, so that's a tragic tale. But she's talking about a child that grieved her. So. She's aoky spooky like it could mean she's. Just being Alice talking in riddles. Yeah, we love her, we absolutely do. Let's hear her have her moment might have known. We're excited yes, I would have made up the beds looking for a tugary and the kings. Then, yes, there's been a horde of you since the ungrateful Queen announced her bounty. Well, you won't find your quarry here person. Old man who turns the butter that he's blind in both eyes, and the boy who seeds the horses, and. None of the ghosts. Seems you have not learned the history of this place, but the laborers who built it, who died here, and James in service to her. And the crew this castle breeze. She swallows the greedy, the heedless. Her founding stones were watered with the blood of men, and she's always thirsty. Why is bloody Cliver? I'm with a craven. Oh wow, that was terrifying. That was so spooky. Hats off to Gaie Ranking for the acting in that scene. She has got her witchy vibes on point. She has definitely loved the bats. That was so cool. Just what are her powers? Man? Like? What ivan like? Was that just like good timing or no? Oh, I think that's powers. Yeah, so she war again the bats? Is she I don't know, Like there's just so many layers to this woman and what she can do, and we just don't know the extent of her powers. But that was spooky. I love it, really, really setting the spooky tone at Harden Hall. It's great. I love every second of it. So, yeah, she's very mothering with Aimon in that first scene when he wakes up and he's like freaking out having dreams, egg gone and stuff. I think she's very intuitive as to what the person needs and how to manipulate them. Yeah, and he needs he's always been mother at one point. Yeah, I think he said mother. Yeah, he's in a weak state at this point, isn't he. So he's easy to he's easy. Pray, he's very easy prey. And yeah, I suppose with Damon, what Damon needed was just about sarcasm. That's how you get to Damon. But with him, she's going straight for the mothering tone. And maybe she's foreshadow in her future pregnancy. Yeah, definitely. So yeah, the next scene when he wakes up with her and she's sitting at the bottle of the bed, that was per misery vibes. Yeah, am I a prisoner? He says, well, not quite, but I don't think i'd like to see a reaction if you tried to. Leave Penguin faces southwest. So then we've got this final scene with them where the Ironborn scale their way into Harron Hall up the cliff face, which was cool. It was really cool seeing the wear Wood for that angle. Yeah, at first I was like, what freaking Wearwood is that? Then of course as they come over the wall, I realized straight away ward in Harnhall. But from the other side, I was like, I didn't realize the cliff was that high. Yeah, yeah, very cool shop, very cool. And of course Amond comes to her rescue, but she looks scared for a minute there. But then there's part of me is like, did she set this up knowing, because like we don't know how much foresight she's got. Did she know he was going to come to her rescue? And it just got a wee bit worried that. It was like, hurry up. I mean, she's very brave, you know, just standing there taking them all on with words. Would you be that brave if you didn't have some magical backup? Well exactly That's what I was thinking until she looked scared, and then I was like, oh, I suppose just because she's got some magical backup doesn't mean and she's in vulnerable to three guys trying to rape her. Yeah, I suppose that was. It was a scary situation for any woman. But you know, I would imagine she's been there before. I would imagine she's as old as were led to believe. Well, yeah, yeah, definitely. Yeah. I think you might be right that it was kind of a setup. Yeah, not that she not that she's set it up, but that she's maybe had some foresight. Yeah, she very confidently walked out there just facing guys with swords on twice, you know what I mean. So I'd like to think that she knew she was going to be saved and that you should be hiding in a bardroom somewhere. It's funny though, the way she was with Yes, there's been loads of years since the Ungrateful Queen sent ransom. I think you'll find it was Damon that pissed you off a bit of transference of anger there reid us now the Ungrateful Queen. So yeah, that's pretty much all my notes on that. Did you have any your thoughts on Alisa Raymond? I did not. Um, okay, that means Europe, What would you like to talk about. Next, let's talk about Gwen. I thought you may go there is absolutely brilliant in this episode. He just looks so miserable every scene that you see him, Yeah, going through that bog, he just looked soaking wet, dejected, miserable, cold, just everything you don't. Want to be when you're a high lord. No, no, for sure. And he thought it was going to be different. This was supposed to be a different thing. The way it's turned out is now just a mission for death. Do you remember when he first joined the army and he was like heading off to a tavern for a pine. Yeah, Well, they were having a rest. And he really bonded with Cole. He has he has. I think it's quite sad for him that colls his bud and he's like, dude, I'm just I'm going out in a blaze of glory now. Yeah, but you used the wrong words with them, like i'llfer you service. Yeah. As soon as he said service, I thought, oh shit, because you saw Cole's face go no more. I'm done with that. Offering servitude to a man that's completely shot down is not going to work as it. No, it's not. It's all Gwen knows how to offer. He thinks he's offering an olive branch to his friend. Yeah, because yeah, the Greens aren't on the throne anymore. You're going to have to go somewhere, So come with me. You know it's gonna hang out in all town. Well race up the hide Tower. Of course, like no one's gonna let me race up the high Tower. That's not happening. Do you have any clips for Gwen? I do have a clip for Green. What you got? I do? I do, I do? Let's have it? Have you ever seen the High Tower? And all to answer Christen, I've heard television omen and I had a game to run the tower, or meant not very good at games. You'd start at. The base before dawning, aim to be the first one to see the sun rise from the beacon. Of course I less him win. He was the things getting twenty and then. At that moment when the sun rises over the seventeen hundreds and hundreds of miles. I hope to show it to you one day. You could make a home at the Old Times for Christen Night of your stature would be most welcome. To serve our house. Oh he sucked it up there at the end. Yeah, but yeah, that that whole story were Ormond in the High Tower. This is GWayne telling you right there that you've got to let Ormond win a games. Yeah. He's a sore loser, isn't he. Yeah he saw that in this episode. Yeah, and then he tried to cover it up. Yeah. Actually, let's talk about that for a second, just while we're While we're here, it's on topic that that scene I loved on so many levels, so much going on in that scene. First of all, we get some fire and blood lower about the yellow Toad. Love that. I remember like when we back when we first started doing this and we did a we warm up on fire and blood. I remember the Yellow Toad being one of your favorites. She was cool, She is very very cool. So loved that. But it was just this, like this whole five minutes in the middle of the episode that was. Just lower lower Lord. It was just thrown it at me. Man. So first of all, we get this this yellow Toad story. Then they're playing a game of souvass. It's like, oh my god, that is so cool. Did you see the behind the scenes. Oh, with the making of this board. It was so cool, so much detail went into it was a very very impressive, very cool bit of props, very cool prop that's how you say that sentence the Savas thing. I love it. So this is like for the main story, We've got Tyrian playing this game of Savas with young Griff. And this is when Tyrian's realized that he's actually egg on the sixth. But he's not actually egg on the sixth, he's fake Eggon. But anyway, Tyrian thinks he is really gone. At this point, they're playing this game of Savas and Tyrian tells Griff to He kind of convinces him to go to the Seven Kingdoms instead of going to Danny first. Just go put your foot on the soil of seven Kingdoms and start taking shit in west Ross. And then they're playing this game and then Tyrian beats him with his dragon piece. He's like my dragon. He's like, your dragon's too far away to help you. He's like, but you, but you said. He's like I lied. Never trust anyone, and then Griff flips the board in a temper tantrum. Now he's been a spoiled team who's pissed off because he got tricked or is the same, but he tries to cover it up as a teachable woman, and it's like never apologized for victory. I just thought it was very reminiscent of lots of family game nights. My kids have been younger, and they, yeah, Monopoly boards have been thrown scattered, will not thrown, but scattered. It's kind of the way Ormond kind of grabs his hands as well when and he makes him scatter the board with him. The two of them just like total control situation. At the course of control, there's off the charts. However, they have introduced Syvas far too early in the timeline in the main story that Syvas is new to Western Ross at the time that Terran and Younger were playing it. It's a game out of Volantis. So we lowered a scrapancy there. But I will forgive it because the board was really really cool. They put a lot of work into it, and the scene was great too. But the other thing that I really loved about this scene the third lord drop. So we've got one from Fire and Blood, one from the main story, and then a third was the coins from a Night of the Seven Kingdoms. They were so well no they're not those coins specifically, but the idea. So in the Mystery Night spoiler alert, very minor spoiler alert, though, Dunk comes across some coins that were mint aid for Damon Blackfire, so it's a little nod to that as well. I just felt it was three nods to the three different franchises in the same scene. Really loved that, so that was great. I was like watching the episode quite the thing, and then it gets to this scene and I genuinely ended up pausing it for about an hour and a half while I was looking stuff up and reminding myself of staff and cross check in against my memory, and I was just like, oh my god, this is insane. It's just so much lower in one scene. So absolutely love that scene. Anyway, back to GWayne, that's what we were talking about. We were talking about GWayne and Kristen and their little march to death or glory. Although I think Cole's the only one with that sort of mindset. Yeah, I got the vibe that Gwen's not going to stay with Cole. No, No, he didn't intend to die there. No, did you see him packed up at the end. He looked like he was leaving. So I got the impression that from his chat and previous chats he's going ahead to Ormond. Now yeah at Tumbleton. Yeah, that's it. He's decided he's got troubled and this is this is futile. Yeah. So I love the whole gerrilla tactics thing that they had gone on at the beginning. It didn't last very long. It was completely turned on them. Actually, I really loved that opening scene with the Riverland Army and it's really funny actually because it's episode five and Roddy the Ruin we still don't actually officially know his name. No, he has not been introduced to us yet. It is now episode five, But I'm just going to take from that that Tommy Flannagan needs no introduction. Yeah, let's go with that. But yeah, it's that I found that amusing. So that whole scene and then they've got Lord Piper and he sends him off with one hundred riders to go ahead. That was the plan. But then as soon as they get back to their tent, calling that ambush thumb and you're like, oh, you sneak a little bastards. But there's a that cat and mouse going on, isn't there. Yeah, because before we've even seen this scene, we've already seen this bit of dialogue with Roddy and Tully after Lord Piper had left the tent where he's like, send me after them, and he's like, actually, let's just turn their tactics on them. Yeah, Oscar Tully is owning this role. What's his name? What's the lad's name? It's on the tip of my tongue. Archie Barnes. There, we've got. Archie Barnes is owning this role. Is so good. And Oscar Tully himself is owning his role as Lord Paramount. He's very comfortable in the bossy's chair, and he seems really calm and tactical, and you know, he's he seems to be respected by these much older men. Yeah. However, however, if this is a drinking game, guys, have a drink in the book. Actually, Grover Tully isn't dead yet, No, it's not. So it's quite cool to see Oscar in there. As a part of the tactics, and we would have got his character much later on. Correct me if I'm wrong, though, Grover Tully well not dead, is still very sickly, yes, and it's not really part of it. Yeah, but Oscar Tully isn't in a position to be making any choices for his house at the moment. Yeah, so it is. It's a good change there. I like the change. Yeah, I like the change. I mean, I think as soon as they decided that it might be too ridiculous to have Kermit and Elmo in there, and they decided to change up the whole family line a bit, I think it was a good way to go. Yeah. It's given Oscar and expanded role, and I like it. I like that for him. I like that for Archie Barnes too, and I like that for the story. Yeah. I like that we're it's condensing what's in the book because there is a lot. There is a lot, and the worry as a book fan is that they'll miss a lot of stuff out. I was the. Previously that we were talking about about Drea On and Normond and Dara calls it these dry esterdays, and I was thinking, I've read Fire and bloodmet is dry. Yeah, definitely, but it's important that we venerate them. Oh dear, all good stuff, good stuff. I like the there was a week comparison there as well of back in the main series. When Ramsey's like, just give me twenty good men and then he'll go and like infiltrate Stannasy's camp. Let's all their horses go burns. There's food, tents and all the rest of it. But this was executed so much better. Yeah, the Ironborn that come over the wall, yes, at Harron Hall. Do you not think one of them really looked like Ramsey Bolton. I never know. I'll look for one of the ones on the right. I thought, oh, you could be Ramsey Bolton. That makes it even creepier. I'll look out for that, have a look out for it. Well, this one was executed way better than the Ramsey Bolton one. So that was I think we just saw like one we tent getting burned. But again this was in the behind the scenes as well. Guys. It was like they were like, we could use CGI, but we want to use real fire. They always want to use real fire on the show. Guys. That's where the budget's gone, Guys. The fire engines on set and that's. Why we're having less battles. Because they want to play with fire. Health and safety're like, we don't have it in us. So I really thought something was going down on the scene where they found the cow drops with the horse cross feet. Yeah, yeah, I love that they were in the Ice and Fire World. There's always a different name for something all the games I play. It's like cowdrops, and it's like crows feet. It's always just so much more creative and poetic when it comes to. Yeah, and they do look like crows feet. They do. They do. Although speaking on the opposite terms of you know, them having their own language, there was a moment with Luthor Largent where he said, it's been a minute. I clock that pull you out, and yeah, it kind of ruined the immersion. It was like, that's a very contemporary phrase. Yes, exactly so, and just because you say tis be in a minute, it doesn't make it sound any less contemporary. Oh you're way ahead of your time, Luthor. But we'll said that for another section. So yeah, the Gwen's pleading with them changed the plan all the way. It's like when Cale's like, oh, well, just he does change the plan, but not kind of what Gowing I'd mind. He's like, we'll just go in a different direction, but we're still going. And then the bog and the lee chase. And oh, the Leach getting pulled off was so gross. It was and I was thinking to myself, was that how you did it? If you've got to squeeze them? Just in case ever get stuck in a bog? Yeah, that's happened. I don't remember that day. I do, I do. I laughed a lot. I could have just went under the low tree trunk that could have got under it, maybe even could have got over it. But I decided around. Your choice of dog walking gear, I treat bag, et cetera was more reminiscent of saddle bags, which infringed your mobility. It hindered your squatting. I could have just took it off, but no, I decided to go round and it was all going very well. And then I was shin deep in a bog with only ankle high boots on, so I wasn't great. Meanwhile, I had gone under myself, yes, and then stood on the other side and watched this unfold without saying a word. There were no etues though, but just in case, you just never know, we do go wandering in the woods and go off path sometimes if we ever did come across some leecheese, Now I know you've got to squeeze them off. I loved your confidence here that you feel you would be doing any of the squeezing or removing of the leech. Yep, both hands in the air, jazz hands. She does not lie, so anyway, yuck and cool at the same time to the leach cheese, broken bridges all the way. Do you know that actually laughed out loud at the broken bridges. I don't know why. I don't know. If I was just delirious by this point, desperate for a battle to happen, I'd laugh out loud at the burnt bridges. Silly, I think, I said, Ah, laughed out loud. So I've got one more green quip as pretty much his last speech of the episode. So let's hear that. Perhaps this is the best we could have voted for. We've made our mark and returned. Alive, little tear downist cheap. Ye find out what Olmond has planned. I thank you for your office for blame. But my path is set before me. And what is what is that path? We're half the river? What it good luck? With that? It was one thing to obstruct them, sir Christen, but. You must see they've gained the advantage. Hm hmm, what more can we do? We will join them. In battle, face them, mad On, we've half the men that we set out with. There are two hundred of them for every one of us, march just towards certain death. And he's absolutely right. And he's absolutely not going with him. No, no, that was enough for him. So then obviously Cole goes on gives his big speech that we had at the beginning of the episode about how he's been serving all these days and how he wants to march to you know, he wants to go out on his terms, et cetera. And during that speech that's when you get the single tear down the cheek of Queen. It was quite moving. And then he gets to the end and he's like, the songs will be sung of me, and the Lady Alison will hear them, and there's just this moment. Gwen's like, oh, this for my fucking sister, Like what apology? Bricking bog I said? We could have stayed in it in I've offered you to come and stay at the High Tower with me, and all the time you wanted. My bloody sister, or you want to die gloriously so she can hear of it. I'm not fucking dying way yet. I'm out here. It's sad, it's sad. I don't know. I don't know if it's like brotherly or loverly at this stage. Yeah. Yeah, it's about romancy, isn't that. Yeah? Yeah, there's definite romance vibes going on there and they've just broke up. Yeah. Yeah, that was a red flag for Gwen, wasn't I. Yeah, if the man of your dreams is in love with your sister, time to. Get out and he's on a death march, well, a death a death raft. To go right for rafting down the Oh no, that's not going to end well? Oh dear right. Okay, do you have any other thoughts on GWayne and Cole? I do not. Okay, So next let's talk about the Great Escape. Or not? Maybe so obviously this is building up through the whole episode. Alison's like fucking starts off with the moon Tea. Really loved Helene in this scene. Was really good to see her. Just got nap. Fuck you did you see that? I didn't know this until I rewatch that. When Orwell is going into the room, is a maid that spots yeah, spots them yeah, so obviously she's went running the lady Massaria Allison calling orwell a friend, Yeah, she's so transparent and orwell, I'm watching you sucking up to the high towers. I've got my eye on you. Nothing inclusive this week about your conspiracy, but I've got my eye on you. I'm watching you for sure. Right so, I've got a week clip here of Helena and Allison in that moment. If Emon threatens Rana's rule, she will use the child as her shield. I can't do it, Helena, Please please, for your own sake, do you not wish to be free? I can't think of it, think of it as a cup of tea, nothing more. But it isn't No, it's not Listen to my It is a blessing. It is a remedy talked to the Masons of the Citadel. It just delivered me from disgrace and ruin. It haslived Reniera herself when she was young, and it will deliver you too. Helena, please please listen me. Will we bear a childhood be never more than a hostage? Or it's line, it's my own, it's line. Stop that line for Lord of the Rings is. It's when it's no. Sam has the ring and safekeeping for Frodo and gives it back to but he's giving it back and is like it's mine, it's my own, it's my burden. To bear or whatever. Yeah, oh yeah, I remember. Yeah, it is almost word for word, which makes me laugh. Okay mm hmmm's right. And what she's saying, she's right about the outcome. Yeah, she's right about the outcome. But what she hasn't considered for Helene's character is Helene's son was brutally murdered exactly, So she's gone through this horrific murder that she was she was there, Yeah, whereas when Alison and Rania had their tea they hadn't gone through any any loss of children. No, it was a choice early on, before there was any I would imagine any sort of movement. Or yeah, yeah, it was. It was definitely recent. So what she's asking Helena to do is abhorrent to Helena, it is and absolutely ps Abon played it really well. She really did. It was really good those two working together, they work really well. There's there's great chemistry and the scene was the scene was very had me on the edge of my seat, like at one point, I thought she was actually going to force feed her. It was like, oh my god. But good on Helena for sticking to her guns, however tragic it may end. So that's a big f you to all the people that were saying a few weeks ago that Helena has no agency. Yeah, yeah, keep watching this girl's she's got agency. So yeah, Missaria comes in investigating because she's heard from the maid, and this scene with Alison and Massaria was hilarious. Alison going, all right, I took a lover. It's fine, it's fine, I'm just drinking out. Better get home with. Its difficult thing, but. Best get home with it now. She's she's such a bad liar. It's so bad, and Missaria acted like she bought it, but her face was like, no, I'm not. I'm not buying that. But who am I to argue with the queen? But I love the miss Aria asibar lover and its like was he a lord or a commoner or perhaps both? She knows exactly who it was, because why else would you say that a lord and a commoner. That's Kristen Cole. That's no one else in the story. So yeah, she knows she knows rubbing her wee facing it. Did you see it? In the next scene there was just a tiny v scene, no dialogue, nothing happened, just Allison's sitting where we hot water bottle. Obviously that did not agree with her. Tommy, Wow. So what else we got? The next scene with them in the garden, first of all, sidetracking again for more icter eggs. The caterpillar thing, so the capillar's there, Jehera reaches out for it in Helena's like, don't touch that. The capillar eats the night shade, which would be deadly to you and I so nightshade is the poison that Picell claims that Tyrian stole from his stash at Tyrian's trial for Jeoffrey murder. So, I mean Geoffrey was killed by a poison that we think was the Strangler. I don't know if it's made with nightshade though I thought of nightshades one of the ingredients in the essence of the Strangler. But yeah, just another nod back to the main story, the nightshade thing and it being a poison. But then there's also something going on here with Helena and the caterpillars and the butterflies, And do you know, I think that maybe first Helena talking about this thing with the butterflies in the book a couple of weeks ago, and then this thing with a caterpillar again in this episode, are both bookending the reveal of Helena's pregnancy, and I feel like this is about where the butterflies thing it's mail or I don't know, unless it's going somewhere and there's going to be some sort of poison involved in Helena's future because she's now got that caterpillar in her room at the end of the episode. So are we. Foreshadowing here or are we sending Georgia message because there's something going on. It's very off original story for me. Yeah, I mean Helene's whole plot, or a lot of Helena's plot is off story. But this thing with the butterflies is like it really had me. But I wondered in a few weeks ago, and you highlighted it then and now I'm seeing this thing with a caterpillar today and I'm like, what is this about? Is this like, is this I'll beware the butterflies? Nod to George. Is this something that's going to Are we watching out for something in Helene's future. Is it foreshadowing, Yeah, it's just if they're going somewhere different with Helena. I'm wondering if it's got something to do with this butterfly poison. Who knows. We shall see, but it's just making me think and over complicating something that's already quite simple and straightforward. Maybe maybe not, who knows. So anyway, they have this chat and she's like talking about Jahea. Oh, we'll get your hair later. It's fine, it'll be cool. She's like, you always look away when you lie. But another we nod back to Catlin with Bran you'll look at your feet when you lie. When he says he's never going to climb walls again, and then what happens. When he climbed the wall. Fine, it wasn't the wall. It was the issue. It was nothing to do with the climbing skills. That was all Jamie lanas. So the made out fits are as bad as the capes. Fits were terrible. I know, why is it like they always look so pristine? It's like, what made is still going to look that pristine at the end of her day? A lazy one. Exactly? Yeah, No, they just so they stick out like a sore thumb. Didn't get very far anyway. If they had to be chamber pot or something, it would be more believable. Helena was carrying something. I don't know what it was. It was like a little basket of some sort. I don't know if that was like their their lunch shirt. They're on the night shift. Ah dear, I just love that moment when Missadia just standing there way in for them. I've got a really a clip actually of Alison and Massadia the White Worm. Years ago. She dealt in secrets and extortion, and I knew men who feared her. She had the cunning to play all sides, not just laptop to the queen. These are rich words in the mouth of a high tower, very. Simply to think of yourself. There is a good inn Era, but the crown is a weight that crushes. There's not any plot, or is she No, She's desperate and she reeks of days will do in. The end what she has to do, and what she has to do will be dire. There's only one who can walk that path with her, and she shows him long ago. She knows what demon is. If you haven't been two sides for a coin, as much as she may deny it, she's also right. Yeah, her attentions may be on you now we you bathe in the warm light of her gaze. But will you stake so high away during the whimsory dragon Rider, I. Want to go out, not now ars. Yes, I need to see the moon. The window will have to do. Stay away from the window. Helena speak and you serve no one. You gain the queen no advantage. But if you say nothing, no harm is done. You earn yourself favored with the High Towers. No thanks, if a time should come when you have need of it. Oh, to be fair, the High Towers took everything she had, so that's not really a good character dangle. No, I don't feel like Massaria would be wanting to place her face the night hour. Alison, of course, will probably be oblivious to this though. Oh yeah, if I remember rightly, at that point, her and her father were competing to get to egg one first. Yeah, so they weren't sharing information. So did he ever? No, I mean not that he ever did, but on this occasion they definitely were not sharing information. So yeah, I love that scene, love that that that tension there it's like, oh, is Massaria going to flip? Well, she won't she. I think she might do something. I think it's it's definitely a wee bit of foreshadowing for Massaria doing something naughty. Time will tell. I don't think it'll be now, though, I think it'll be later, maybe when the power shifts a bit, that maybe Missaria will make some desperate attempt to call in her favor save herself. Yeah. Well, I mean we'll find out, because if she's not going to call in the favorly she'll tell Ranera everything by the next episode, you know what I mean. Yeah, so that's interesting. What other notes do I have? Oh? The cats, Yes, and meow. That's it. I love that there's cats everywhere this week. That is so cool, very cool. Apart from in those passageways. Yeah, yeah, exactly, it was a cat that's sort of sensed there was something on the other side of the wall where Helena recognized the cat, going, there's something there. Although I'm a bit confused as to how there was a draft if the tunnels sealed up, Well, let's just get into that chat because that's where we were heading anyway. So they're trapped in this tunnel. They have no light. That's not good. It's very dark. There's only two people we know for sure that know about the tunnel, Damon and Riania. So I'm assuming it's going to be one of those situations where everything, I'll all be fine next week. Yeah, they're like, they might be trapped in there for a little while, but they're gonna go. They've disappeared, and Damon's going to go, let's check the secret tunnel or Ranita's you know. Yeah, maybe this is when Masaria says they were trying to escape. Yeah, they're in that tunnel. They're not really gone. I just left them in there because I thought it was easier than trying to keep an eye on them. Oh dear, that's funny. But yeah, they were like, I mean, clearly there's a there's a guard on the door now after their earlier escape attempt, I'm assuming there's a guard outside. So there's very few options as to where they could have went, and two of their captors know about the tunnel, so I assume it's all going to be wrapped. But it was a nice, like a really spooky way in the episode, but like drama for the sake of drama. It was rolling her eyes. Yeah, do not like that scene? I I just thought, why there's there's other there's other things that could have been going on. Yeah, I agree, I agree for sure as a scene in itself. Didn't hate it. Yeah. Also, you know, if it's only Demon and Rania that know about the tunnel, who blocked it up? Well, this is what I was wondering as well. So the last time we know of the tunnel being used would be. When they made their escape and had that night of debauchery. Yes, yeah, in season one when Wenia was still a teenager. But Renina remained in those rooms I believe for many years until she moved to Dragonstone with this was after Geoffrey was born, she moved. She stayed in the Red Keep right up until Geoffrey was born and then they went to Dragonstone. Did she tell Viceerres how she got out? No? No, I don't think she ever told anyone about the tunnel. It remained her in Demon's secret. So yeah, they're pretty big bricks. Yeah, yeah, they're they're huge, big. Bricks of like big stone bricks. They're they're massive, so they're going to be very heavy. So who did that? Yeah, exactly. I'm I did wonder, I have been wondering. It's illogical, I mean not really, there's there's many there is explanations for how it could have happened. No, I mean, if we're going down the route, that's only Demon and Rinina that know about this tunnel. It's illogical, But. They're not the only ones that know about tunnels in general. And maybe if you get into Megor's tunnel, you seal up all the entrances from Remember when luden Cheese went through and it was like a sewer bit of it. Oh yeah, that's the last time it was used. Yeah, that was the last time it was used. That probably would have had that sealed up. After the lden Cheese. So yeah, Blood and Cheese are fest up about the tunnel. Yeah, and they've been up from the inside. Yeah. Yeah, I think that's maybe what's happened there. It's the only thing that makes sense because Visceris didn't know about the tunnels back then when they were used in the past. No, Laris is another one who knows about the tunnels. How does Laris know about the tunnels? I can't remember. He was interviewing Blood, Yeah, before Eggon came down and had his way with them, and is. That not how he gets egg gone out through the tunnels? I don't know, did they and just maybe I've just assumed that car you just saw them in a car. I've just assumed. Yeah, maybe it's just. But maybe he did get that knowledge from Blood and that is how we got them out. I'm going to go with that as my head cannon. Yeah that makes sense. But yeah, the only thing that really makes sense about the tunnels being blocked up is that they were blocked up after Jerry's. Was killed. Yeah. The other thing is is maybe it's not completely sealed up because we did see a draft. There was a draft with a candle. Maybe there's another passageway. Yeah, maybe there's another way out. That doesn't actually take you to outside, but takes you to another room in the castle. So possibly, possibly, I have a feeling it's going to be resolved quite quickly. They're not going to be down there too long, I don't think, God, I hope not. I mean, how many scenes in the dark could you do with them? They be cheap scenes. I should think they actually did that in one of the behind the scenes I saw they were when they were filming that scene. They tried all different kinds of lighting and they ended up just using the lanterns. Oh, maybe Helena freaks out and gives birth, I thought that. But the birth scene seems very candlelight, right, so like there's the glow fire. I don't know, there's definitely that fire type lighting going on when she's given Yeah, and Berth in that scene. So I thought of that at first. That was the first thing. I thought, Oh, oh, she doesn't end up giving birth in that tunnels, And then I thought, oh, but she's got no they've got no light. But then maybe they get the candle lit again. Maybe they do have matches. I don't all a flint or something. I don't know. Maybe Luther Largent's got a lighter. Luther large it's a bit busy. Well, yes, from another time, this is true. So yeah, that's all I've got on the Great Escape. Do you have any other thoughts? Right? Okay, So that just leaves the gold clothes and Ranida's declining paranoia. Oh, let's do the gold clocks. Okay, so there's been a murder or sex oh dear, So the whole thing. With the gold clocks is probably one of the better parts of the episode, so discussing when they discover the two disemboweled bodies so. Gross, They are really gross. So there's a scarmish at the dragon gate first. Then they figure out there's two dead in Flea, but this is like verbally, and then Damon and Luther find another two. Then the next day Damon says, that's six of my men gone instead, including the two yesterday. So I don't know when another two died, but there we go. That was six. Yeah. I loved Damon's rousing speech after Luther had said rousing speech from the rogue prince, like that's not going to work, Like you've been away for too long. Some of these guys were babes and swaddling. Oh, I clipped that speech. You and I are the protectors and capers of the greatest citadel in all of West russ. The governing seat of a mighty round. Without the city watch, without us, these streets would echoed with the cries of insurrition. Yeah, of king's landing would boil with corruption and depravity. I looked you now to uphold your vows to the city and to the throne. Trust in your Queen and I pledge you you will be repaid twice over for the sacrifices you make now. And in the years to come. As Dawn finally bends the knee, this great empire grows, and the seven kingdoms become nine, become twelve. Become then o Valeria. When I returned with. Dragons spilling over with silks and silver, who will be the first? Oh dear. The market square. It seems a lord of slea bottom that's not been altogether forgotten. Oh no, great speech to them, and great speech. He's getting a bit carried away with himself, like becomes the New Valeria. Yeah, what the fuck did these guys get here? About the New Valeria? They're just on the cheering bandwagon at this point. Yeah, that was real good. So yeah, when Damon's giving her that when they find the first bodies, just before he finds the first bodies, he's literally telling Luther Largent too, just humorer, you know, you can do what she wants with it, like getting too excited about it. Just cam down a bit. Just humor, er man, she's a bit of temperance. She's having a hard time. Then we've got when they find the body, there's a wee girl in the street who runs off and goes to the other guys. We've seen him before. I can't think when. I feel like it was in the first episode, like Ormond or or something so that Ormonds sent him to Kingsland and. I was a sweet, smelly one. No, but around that time. Yeah, but at the same time he sends a guy off to Kingsland and as well to go and learn what he can. I think it's him. I think that was what happened. And of he sends the pigeon because like apparently the common focus pigeons instead of ravens makes sense. Yeah, and that's when we obviously we find out that Ormond's obviously orchestrating this, which was kind of obvious anyway. So this is like in place of the Shepherd, isn't it Ormond's Yeah, the deal ends that he's doing killing people off. Yeah. It's making me wonder if they're doing away with the Shepherds storyline. And although I thought the Shepherd was going to be the guy who got his hand chopped off last season, there's still the Shepherd could still rise amongst the chaos, but certainly Ormond the one getting the ball rolling and I like what they're kind of doing there with Ormond, because I'm not sure do I like it. I don't know. Let me just say it and then we'll decide if I like it. So we've got this decline of Ranera and Ranida's paranoia right, which is real, it's happening. Man, She's getting a bit paranoid. But we'll get to that. But what they're doing here with this Ormond is making it seem like, you know, Ormond's starting at Ormond's stirring the pot, giving her something to be paranoid off, and people turning against her, and people looking at our gainers the side eye rather than just Rnina is a bad queen and the city turn on her. They've been stirred up against her, you know that sort of thing. So it's given a bit more nuance to the people starting to turn on Ranera, the fact that Ormond is sneaking about causing trouble. So do we think that he's been responsible for all the graffiti as well? I think so, yeah, I'm starting to think that way too, although it is about, you know, a wee bit of graffiti then stepped up to. Murder and then mass murder. Yeah. I mean you want to find it positive. It's kind of artie well the Last Supper, Yeah, yeah, yeah, a bit graffiti, doesn't. He Well yeah that was that was next level graffiti. Makes sense and a sort of escalation of a serial cover, you know, like starting out small like sniff and knickers, and then it goes to murder and what have you. It's like a bit of graffiti and then it's like just emboilment of a couple of them and then just full on six murders on one go. Stick a bit graffiti. Let juices flow here, and. He has a he has an m O. There's a graffiti. I mean, but how does let mean this is? It's got to be bigger than just this one guy or even he's Wee crew. I mean, how do they get into the gold Cloaks barracks to do that? To the heat Horn Show? And it's a quick way to put a lot of characters into one character. And what they've shown is that he's a mastermind and a lunatic with connections and with a lot of money so he can pay people. I mean, everybody, they're starving, they're going to want to just yeah, I'll do that. For things they wouldn't probably normally do to survive. Yeah, that's very true. I'm just thinking logistically. I mean, I think what I was thinking. Was, is a couple of hundred miles away, how was he doing that? No, when I was talking about the one guy, I'm thinking about the guy that the pigeon guy, all right, because he's the man on the ground in this situation. So is he Were they playing cards or something? Not going to be like Varius and his little birds? So yeah, possibly, but still managing to get into the gold Cloaks barracks and commit a slaughter like that? Right, Like what seven or eight of them? My bet would be on money. Well, maybe it's some gold Cloaks. Yeah, maybe because they've not been paid either. No, exactly, the ones that are like they were cheering along, but in the background they were going to still want my fucking money. Yeah, I mean, killing your boss isn't the best way to get paid. Just heads up, guys. But I digress. So I'm wondering if there's some gold Cloaks involved in this, because I mean it seems like quite a big job, so maybe it's an inside job. Moving on. So, yeah, that's worth considering. But if it's not, if the rest of the Gold Cloaks turned up and are completely outraged, and then next episode, this guy's got some skills, man, he sent the right man. Yeah. So yeah, very very interesting feast for traders, not to feast for crows. There's still going to be a lot of Green supporters, yeah that are keeping quiet. I want to get the revenge. Well yeah, I was thinking that. Like at first, I was thinking the graffee I have had something to do with some of the high born that were maybe at the rat feast when the graffiti started. But now it's like, Okay, was it this guy for Ormond that's been doing it. Maybe it's a bit of. Both fingers and a lot of pies, yeah, a lot of pigeon pie. Yeah, but this one particular job. I mean, the murders in the streets were one thing, but the to do it in the barracks and to have time to set up and stage the bodies like that without the feary getting caught. Well maybe they did have fear of getting caught, but they didn't get caught. That's the point. And how come it's Damon that discovers this and not another Gold clock. Where are all the rest of the gold clocks? So what's going on? What's that face? That face is no shed to the actual writer of the episode, but just it wasn't written by George. So I just feel it's going to be full of plot holes because George is an exceptional one off writer. You didn't get many plot holes with George. I didn't even know you don't, so everything because they've changed the way this is happening now to move I'm convinced it's to move Gwen. Yeah, because Gwen's supposed to be in Kingsland in and has. Yeah, like Luther Largence meant to kill him, Like Luthor Largence meant to be in this battle where he's bloody, heads blunged to death and the onlyason you can identify him is because. He is massive body. Right. Yes, so that's a lot of stuff to be that they've missed out. But it was a lot of stuff that was in port and in the game of chess of the story. So what they've done is they've just consolidated that in a shock scene. Yeah, and it works for it works, it works for TV TV. Yeah, So I think just take it from what is and we'll see what they've got. Yeah, let's see how they're going to develop it. What I will say is I had all my reservations about the rain A plot, and I think the executed it quite well. Yeah, Larice and Egg gone on the Road. That's not in the books, but I fucking love it. So let's just we'll give them a chance. We'll see what, see how it goes. Oh yeah, just after that, they torture that guy as well, and Damon gets the coin and sorry before he finds the bodies, obviously gets the coin and gives it to Nina the dare On coin. I have wrote here wee bit of torture the tongue or the eye. H that was my notes for that, and gives up the coin in his boot. Again. The boot is that we need to egg could be very loose one though, won't dwell on it right. So that just leaves Rania's spiraling paranoia. So firstly, she's obsessed with Vigar. Yeah, like they're talking about the gold cloaks. Everybody's like Damon and Massari are having a bit of an argument about it, and she's just like, he's bringing us back to Vegar. Has anybody seen Vagar. Does anybody know what we Vegar went? Do you know what? Saying fairness to her though she's the queen and no one's listening to her. No, they're not, and DEM's throwing stuff about and not listening it at all. She's she sat at that table and everyone's all having their own conversations. I mean, they're not wrong to focus on what they're focusing on. They are in their respect that she's in charge. Yes, no, you're rather they're not. Respecting her position. That's where I was going with that, and she knows it. Yeah, So the directions they want to go in might be the right ones, but should be respected the direction that she wants to go in because there might be a she might want to deal with it. If they did deal with Vegar, they're getting rid of a massive adversary. Yeah, and it makes sense to Rania, But no one's respecting what she's saying because they're all looking at her going just revenge. Yes, it is just revenge, but you wouldn't say that if she was a king, they would just carry it out. So she's wrong. But she's also being disrespected yea, which is inappropriate giving her station and given what everybody's just fought for to put her in that position. Well, yeah, none of it makes any sense, and it's no wonder there was civil war. Well exactly exactly what I did love about this saying was torrmentally up for free whispering like at the back of the classroom. I almost expected something and go, sh Damon just gives out loud so if the whole room can hear. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Damon was definitely playing the teacher in that role, staring them down until they stopped talking. But yeah, so all that's going on, nobody's listening to her. Deamon's going like it's outright just defying her, and she's going to I'll send Damon because Adam points out the bail and needs a rest, And I said, Daimon, He's like, I'll go when I've dealt with this, and do you're fucking told right, Just do what you're fucking told, Damon. But yeah, so obviously he storms out the room as she goes after him. I've got that clip there, So let's have a we listen, have myself back. On dragon stuff, but my voice must again compete with yours, O contry. I've pledged to fulfill your commands later. I'm in the mood to jest. What does it make of me if you will obey me only to time and place of your own choosing. You are the queen acting your interest good. My interest is vaguar. Mine too, But we have time enough. Ahmed is afraid. He's fled once already before you. We are in no danger. That is treachery somewhere, and I seek to uncover it. What you seek is revenge. God to know I do not graduate that, but revenge may wait. At this moment. There is a disturbance in your city, and you, yourself, are its likely cause. I did not ask Sir Luthor to be brutal. You need not have asked him anything at all. Will you let yourself be rattled by vapid taunts, by the painting of stripes on time? They are more than taunts. They are an insult to my sons. I challenge to my very. Legitimacy, while the queen of dragons your strength is your legitimacy. Yes, everything he says is true, everything she says is true as well. But except for the there's treachery somewhere, that's just any paranoid obviously people are going to be against your roy Needa, But. Well, I don't know. I think it's a fair comment. Oh yeah, it's a really paranoia if they are allowed to get Yeah, no it's not. They are allowed to get they are they are for sure. So yeah, you can totally understand why she thinks there's trouble brewing. There is trouble brewing, and they're trying to tell her about it, and she's ignoring them, and she's going, I want vegar and she's like, but they're out to get me. There's there's trouble somewhere. We've got I've got to seek it out. I've got to find it. We're telling you about the trouble. You're not listening. Well, there is that. Yeah, and then there's her avoiding Geoffrey. Yeah, that's sad. Yeah, what's going on there? Do you think to think it's that's that's the grief stuff, that's the I'm going to have to sit down and have a chat where I'm about his brothers. Yeah, and she's just not ready for that. That's sad. It's very sad. So then we've got in the sept The enyway is within there is a pattern and a purpose. Demon's like, true gods have no need of sceptions, nor do we. The gods have turned from me. Damon's face here when she says that, He's like, oh my god, crazy bitch. I love the bit in the High Valaria. And of course Deamon's like, did you think there being no dispute? A realm united, always summer and never snow. And his voice goes really high, like oh this summer, never snow. He's just absolutely ripping the bits out of her. The tone was quite hilarious. I mean, honestly, my first watch I zoned out, went on my phone. My second watch, I fell asleep. It was a very long high Valarian scene. I'm normally okay with that, yeah, and very respectful of how difficult it is for the actors to learn that. And I'm usually reading the subtitles. Yeah, but I don't know what was I just sowned out. No, well turned out. It was a great scene. He also says, you're a woman, so of course there's always going to be people against you. She then's like, where's a gone, where's Amond, where's the gold, where's the fucking army? Right, like this is all fair, fair comment, and then she goes something stirs against me, something crouched, something formless. I feel the dread of it. It's like, well, that's dark. That's getting dark. And then he says to her these are men only and she's like, well then why can't you find them? True story? And then she attacks him and it's like, oh, you're demon Targaria and blah blah blah. They sing songs about you and you can't get you can't sort this out. You're like basically just saying you're rubbish. And he just gives her a look like any smiles are and he's like, I know you're trying to hear her. You're just trying to hurt me because she's just you're lashing out. That's okay, I'm gonna let you have that one. And he just walks away for her, and then he says, you're more than this ouch. Burn. Wow. So yeah, very intense stuff there. But you do see the declining paranoia of Rinidra. And next week she'll be like, my enemies are in the walls. They are, oh definitely. So did you have any other thoughts on Rendidra and her declining mental health? Nope? Okay, well that takes us to our dragon section then, which is a very very small dragon section this week. What is even it? So we literally have Sea Smoke and Moon Dancer hanging about in the background while Baila and Adam have a chat, and that was the only visuals we had of dragons. They were quite good shots though. They look pretty cool. So if you're watching us on the video version, we've got an iced by close up here, but they weren't doing anything. Nothing happened, so that was their only visual lover Dragon. I mean, Vegar was definitely part of the plot despite not being on camera at any point. So what do we think is going on with Vegar? Is Vegar like gone rogue? Is Vegar just feeding? Do you think I think Alice Rivers has done some ookie spookye on Vegar. Do you think, yeah, oh that's cool. I like that idea. I think she's some telepathic message through the bats to Vegar. Just go fade girl, come back in a week. She's fed Vagar. Where would paste? That's it. That's it. You've got Vegar and Amond on the where would. So Vegar is just having a mad trip somewhere right. Okay, and not burning towns or anything, just farms at this point. What's the name of the firm Windletown or something along those lines. But yeah, so who knows what's going on with Vegar. I love that idea that Alice has done something to Vagar because it's not normal dragon behavior. Dragons normally stick around with their rider, et cetera. And when they are rider lists, they usually go back to wherever they were born. They dragons all, and it's kind of I don't think George would like this, right because it's intrinsic to Georgie's story that the dragons behave in this way. So this is why the Cannibal and sheep Stealer and Gray Ghost all hang around Dragonstone because that's where they were born, right, So they all hang around Dragonstone. Drogone, when he leaves Denies, he goes back to the Dastraky Sea where he was born. This is how dragons behave, and Vagar going off and doing her own thing doesn't fit in with Georgie's dragon behavior. But if Alice Rivers was messing with her in some sort of weird side plot Showcannon, I could probably get on board with that slightly, but not that the dragons just doing this by itself doesn't make sense. Wendsh Town. I did write it down, wends Town. Damon says dragons need to eat. That's Demon just explaining it away. Maybe Demond Wright, maybe that's all it is. Maybe the dragon is just heading off for eating. But I know it's like Aimond is in complete disbelief that Vegar's gone, Like she would never leave me, Nope. And Amond is gravely wounded and recovering at this point and bonded to this really old dragon who knows her shit. Yeah, so I don't. Believe that Vegar has just thought, well, I'm just going to go catch myself some sheep and chill out. No, no, I don't. And she's massive, Yeah, she would be protecting Amond while he's in a vulnerable state, you. Would think, yeah, I think so. Yeah, I'd find it hard to believe that she would just got to be Alice. Alice has got to have done something, and when Damon was in a similar set, so definitely worth considering. I think that's it for dragons. Then that's all we really got to say. And so the Daily gave us to work with. To be fair, what they gave us for dragons. I'm surprised we managed to get a conversation at all. Yep. Okay, so that takes us in R I P. In this episode. First of all, we said goodbye to Lord Piper, who absolutely did not see it coming. Was Lord Piper was the one that Kristen Cole killed in the A right opening ambush scene. Know nothing about that, dude, So that was it. That was Lord Piper. Rest in peace, diod Sorry, I didn't know who you were or anything about you. What a way to go man? Yeah, I only know your name because of the close captions. That's sad, killed by the greatest warrior that ever lived. Maybe will be in the song maybe rest in peace? Did who we got next? Next? We said goodbye to some ironborne cunts. Oh the Ramsey Bolton look alike in his pals. Oh yeah, I didn't see the Ramsey Bolton thing, but I will look at out for it. But yes, yes, we said, if we said goodbye to them, they their life ended brutally rape bastards. That's fine, we can live with that. Yep. We also said goodbye to many gold cloaks, many unnamed. Gold globe that's what again? What a way to go man. Yeah, that was that was gruesome, crazily and finally we said goodbye to the Headhorn show himself, Luther Clargent. Oh see you later, big man. See. Yeah, he was kind of cool. Yeah. I was just getting like him. Uh so sad to see him go? Rest in peace? Did rest in peace? Guys? Anything funny end on because we usually end on laughter. I think leave that in like, oh, well, oh you can't hit them allie. No, So, any other any other notes or thoughts about the episode that we didn't mention. I don't think, so I will check. I have one Bayla and Adam m hm Adam to protector and when she's saying about she'll get married off to some old lord somewhere and he's like, I'll come and get you and we'll fly to exile. Ah, I'm feeling a love triangle. I'm feeling like. Feel like that's not going to last long. Well well yeah, okay, we're firmly in the spoiler section of the podcast at this point, right, so, and this will be our last conversation. So if you don't want the spoilers, now's your time to leave. But yes, I'm feeling a love triangle. We know Bayla marries Alan, but wouldn't it be like heart and com flicked right in to have her fall for Adam first and then he dies? Really, Oh, she's been through enough, she has she has got like have her like have a slut era before. She settles down. Well, maybe just kind of off character for her, isn't it. It is a bit in the show. Maybe even nothing happens between them. Maybe it's just emotional. Maybe she starts developing a bit of seat feelings. But he dies, and she thinks, so I didn't get that vibe back I got he was flirting with her. Yeah, do you think I don't think she was flirting back, but he was. You think, Yeah, then I will come and get you and we will fly to exile. But she's family and he has no family, right, yeah, and they're both dragon riders. He's talking about rescuing her from her future husband. M hm. I don't know. There was something on his face. I think I think he fancies her a bit. Because maybe just because well I don't know, I don't know. I have no idea. Maybe maybe it's one sided. Maybe it's one side, but I sent something like unrequited. Yes, yes, maybe, but I mean all the way through it, he was very protective of her. Lady Baill is not eating or rested. Billy, You've got to get some sleep, you know, You've got to get some rest. You to eat something. I don't know. He's just very protective of her. I seemed to through out my life, I've having a blindness for Green Flag energy. So I've probably missed that one. Let's call it wilful blindness. Stick that in the rip. Oh, I'm not very good at spotting green Flag energy myself. Well you did there. I haven't in the real life. I can't even spot it in a fantasy world. Right, What else have we got? I don't have anything else. Everything else we've kind of mentioned all the way through and mentioned throughout. Okay, So wrapping up, I have a final question for you. Okay, what do you hope to see from the next episode? Oh? Good question. Definitely a battle. There has to be a battle. I want to see Butcher's ball. I want to see Butcher's ball. I want to see eggone takes some power back instead of wingin. I want to see some fire open yet his eyes at the very least. Yeah, I want to see some fire open his eyes. I want to know that promo shot of Helena with her hair blowing in the wind like and yeah, looking all powerful and like she might be standing in the presence of a dragon. I want to know what that it's all about. I want to know fucking Ormond is an awesome hairdresser. Or not. I want my question finally answered about Ormond's hairdressing skills. Fair, what about you? Anything to add? No, I'm just desperate for a battle, and I feel it needs to be Butcher's Ball. Yeah, yeah, for sure, Yeah, definitely that. I really want to see some battle action. I think Butcher's Ball is relatively easy in terms of budgets. I mean, battles are expensive, but there's no dragons or anything involved. It's just men, so it brings down their usual battle budget significantly. So I'm expecting some good stuff. I'd like to see some great battle choreography next week. Yeah, yeah, for sure. I want to see some iconic book moments happen. We've had a lot of variation on the script, which I'm not against, not all of it, and I'm happy to roll with it. But I want to see them circling background to those book moments. Yeah, let's let's have some book action please. Yeah, yeah, definitely. So that's our hopes for the episode coming up for us. I've been working on that legitimacy video that has been promised. I'm halfway through it. I'll be diving back into editing that once I've finished editing this, so should hopefully get that to he by the weekend, maybe the beginning the next week. And it is the thirtieth anniversary of the release of the first book on the first of August, so to commemorate the date as we have a book versus Show anniversary special that we did a couple of years ago for our first anniversary as a podcast. So I'm going to revive that, make it into a video version and get that out to you guys to commemorate the anniversary of the first book. Cool. I'm not making any promises about getting it out for the first It's a very tight deadline and I have to live so unless I'm like chained to the computer desk for the next two weeks, I'm not making any promises.
