Keep it Unreal
Have you heard about the twenty eighteen study that showed half of pre needal vitamins tested had unacceptable levels of heavy metals. No, well, now you have. I'm Kat, mother of three and founder of Ritual, the company making traceability the new standard in the supplement industry. I remember staring at my pre neal vitamins and finding all these things. I was trying to avoid high amounts of heavy metals, synthetic colorants, and unnecessary ingredients. So, at four months pregnant, I quit my job and starred Ritual because I believe that all women deserve to know what they're putting in their bodies. And why I'm so proud of our pre nedal vitamins. The ingredients are one hundred percent traceable. It's third party tested for microbes and heavy metals, and recently received the Purity Award from the Clean Label Project. You see, we trace like a mother, because let's be honest, no one cares quite like a mother. But don't just take my word for it. Trace for yourself with twenty five percent off at ritual dot com slash podcast. Valerium was the last living creature to have seen all Valeria before the doom it's greatness and its flowers. When you look at the dragons, what do you see what? You haven't spoken a word to me since Man's funeral, and now you see your king's guard. Answer to me, it's important. What do you see? I suppose I see us? Tell me. Everyone says Tarlgarians are closer to gods than to men, But they. Say that because of our dragons. Without them, they dislike everyone else. The idea that we control the dragons is an illusion. They are power men. Should never have trifle with on the broad Valaria. It's doom. If we don't mind our own histories, we'll do the same to us. Tugerian must understand this to be king, Oh. Queen, Welcome to the Unreal Hour. Hi there, and welcome to our show. I'm Fiona and I'm Emma. So we're going to cover episodes nine and ten, The Green Council and. The Black Queen. The Green Council was directed by Claire Kilner and written by Sarah Hees, and The Black Queen was directed by Greg Yetanis, who directed episode three. Oh Cool. There was a slight change to the credits for this episode. Shall we look into that? So in episode nine, The Green Council, we go back to the serices side of the family trees so that the opening can reflect the king's long awaited death. Well, that's sad. It sounds like everybody was, like, you know, for a bad wording. After watching Thesareses cog fill with blood, we follow a stream to Alison and her three children or is it four? In a blink and you miss a moment, a small cog appears just below Allison's indicating that the show has not forgotten completely about day On Targarian, the fourth child of Allison inversaries, currently expected to be in old Town. While Amond is represented by a bluestone, his sister Helena has a spider for us Agil, and Agon's cog seems to feature a bound and naked woman not a shock. Yeah, that's sounds like him. Helena and Agon's bloodstreams intersect, forming a line that leads to their three children, Jaharsh, Jahira and Meyler. And last but not least, the camera gives a good look at the cogs of Princess Runida's two sons. So far, that's where the House of the Dragon opening sequence, or rather sequences, has to tell us However, I would better dragon and and I that the upcoming finale has even more changes on the way. Well, I can tell you it doesn't. It's exactly the same, Okay, I do believe that for the next season that we are getting a new intro. Oh that's awesome. I saw an interview or read an interview as I they all just bleed into each other now. And I can't remember whether I read or saw it or heard it or whatever. But Ryan Condall apparently feels like has everyone that has is supposed to be born has been born now that they couldn't take the blood line thing any further, so they decided to do something different. Well that's exciting, so it'll be interesting to see what they come up with. So what were your overall thoughts of the episode? Oh? Wow, well episodes, episodes, Yes, well they were very different, different directors, different writers. But this is the first real sort of blacks and greens thing going on. Now. Now we have that division and it's there. I don't think we'll see much of the intermingling from now on. No, but it's quite cool to see the two sides of the same coin. Oh, absolutely yes, And both reactions to the death of the series. But you know, not to jump right ahead to the end of episode ten, but what went down in that episode really made me think back to viseries in the first episode. I think it was when he's given Renier speech about well about making her air basically, and he says something along the lines of that, the idea that we control the dragons as an illusion. Yeah, and what happened in this episode really made me think back to that. Well, yeah, it compounds that, don't Oh, it absolutely does. This is that speech that Vissi's makes right there, he was foretelling this moment, and so yeah, I definitely thought back right back to the beginning and it definitely just drives it home. It absolutely drives it home. So yeah, what did you think overall? Episode nine? Thought the episode was cool. Best part was the end. Obviously the dragon parts are always the best parts. Definitely episode ten, I think I enjoyed more. I cried. I never cry. I did cry. Oh wow, I know, wow, so much dragon action in episode ten. Oh yeah, yeah, definitely, We've got a great dragon section ahead. Yeah, I can't wait. But before we get there, we've got a few other things to get through. So we have some new characters to discuss. In episode nine, we had the infamous septin Ustace. Yeah, yay, you know, this is the guy who we get all the information from in the books and we finally get to see him. We finally do. Though he was just being annointy, speechy guy. There was nothing of who he is in that, you know, You've got nothing of his personality or anything like that. It's just nice to put a face to the name it is. That is what I loved about it. Yeah, it's like finally Sceptin Eustace. He's like mentioned in every other paragraph in the book during this timeline, being in mind that the book covers about one hundred and fifty years or something like that. So yeah, but yeah, he's like mentioned in every other paragraph. So it's great to finally put it face. Dam I wonder if he'll have a larger part to play next season. Maybe maybe indeed so. He is played by Simon Chandler. And for episode ten we had Sir Laurent, who was Runita's sworn sword. It would appear with the King's Guard that was stay at Dragonstone with her. We also had Sir Stephen Darklin. He was played by Anthony Flanagan and Lord Bartramus Kiltigar, who was played by Nicholas Jones. This is the Valerian family, the other Valerian family that we never see. Finally they have made their way to front stage. Absolutely, he doesn't look very Valerian. I mean, he's got white hair, but he just looks like he's got old man white here. Yeah. Yeah, so maybe they're not blondes, but you would think so with them being Valerians and all that. But yeah, so we finally got to see it Keltigars and we finally got to say Septin Eustace. So those are our new additions to the cast for the end of the season. I'm sure we will see more of them. So that I suppose brings us two major plot lines, and there was so much to talk about. First thing is reactions to finding out the series is gone. So you see that there's opening scenes and you've got this low boy making his way through the castle down to whispering Talia's ear. You know, actually the opening scene was lovely. It was full of drama. It was it was the music. The empty throne room, empty council seats, them is all dark and moody, and yeah, you're right, that little boy making his way down the steps to go and tell Talia what's happened. Absolutely, and then Alison's sitting in tears. Yeah, absolute floods of tears. That was her initial reaction, and not for the only time in the episode. There's also another scene later on over his body, Yeah, where she was crying, real tears. Yeah, she was sobbing, she was having a moment. Yeah. So Otto's reaction was who knows, shock, sneaky and then she says that Viceeri's wished for, he going to be king and did you see his face change? It was like, oh, now I'm interested. Okay, looks like we're going to get no position from you to my plan now, slimy cunt. The council's reaction, it's just silence. The room just felt absolutely island, which brings us to the plot. So also says to the room he left us a gift though, to which Thailand drops the bomb. It's like, oh, I assume that we'll have no so I actually wrote this one down. Then we may proceed now with the full assurance off his blessing on our long leave plans. And it's Alison, you just see the wheels actually turn it and women what's going on here? Also Westerling. Westerling is like he's having the same moment as Alison. Fuck, are you serious? Yeah, so you've got Allison's shock and the first one to like, I mean, Alison's like, am I understand that you have been plotting this by my back? But then it's Beesbury. I can't believe Beaesberry woke up. I know he's actually wing sh anymore. Point he was like, no, I will not fucking have this. This is absolute treeson and then he goes as far as to start accusing them murder was like whoa. Besbury calmed down, but yeah, I mean that was a horrible way to go, wasn't it. It wasn't It was dead annoying that the one time the old guy wakes up, he gets his head bashed in. He was the only objection in the room, well the only yeah, I mean Westerling objected obviously, but his reaction was just to walk away. Do you think that Kristen cole knew about this or do you think it was just him reacting in the moment. I think he was just reacting the moment. It's that temperate has again. Yeah, it's like back to that previous episode when Allison had the dagger of Runidra And as soon as it all kicked off, Westerling was like, Christian, no, you know, he knew that he has to watch him, that he has got a violent temper. He's already had a couple of outbursts and you just can't keep your eye on him. And Big Plato's sitting there rubbing his hands together. Brilliant Coles kicked off again. That's Beesberry silenced, absolutely lovely. So at this moment, it's Harold West. I wrote, fucking go Harold, right, and he's like, hand over your cloak. Yeah, and I just love that. But obviously, you know, Alison sort of steps in and Cam's that situation down. But I love that he was just like, Nope, you have overstepped this time. Like I've had that eye on you for ages, mate, and I've been waiting for you to put another foot wrong. This was it. And then he got totally shot down, which was a shame. And I just wrote, Kristen is whipped. It was just the way Alison. It's like, stand down, Kristen, and he's like immediately there was no offense, no offends. Yeah, absolutely So at this point the master suggests dealing with bees, but he's body. And this is where I've taken the first clip, and I have called it auto use line because he's like, no, the door remains shut until we can include our business. Let's play that clip. Storm's end is of concern. We may not assume the loyalty of Lord Boris, but he has four daughters, all of them unmarried. The right proposals. The former wre cannot, of course be allowed to remain free and draw support to her claim. Do you mean to imprison hern the opportunity to publicly swear abasements to the new king? She'll never been the knee nor Damon, which you know? So read between the lines. What are they saying? Do you plan to kill them? And all here accey to this, your father, there is correct, your grace. A living challenger invites battle and bloodshed. It is unsavory. Yes, that's a sacrifice we must make to secure egg On succession. And then there is Damon to consider. The king wouldn't wish for any of the. Wish for the murder of his daughter. He loved her, Oh not have you denied this? Have you removed from this chamber and said to the wall? Oh cool? Alice said, love that awkward silence. What do you suggest to your grace? Time is of the essence? Oh hem, No, she's got nothing, She's got nothing. She's on the spot totally. Lord Commander Westerling, take your knights to the dragons there and be quick and be clean. Boat boat your age. And that's the cloak coming off rabit. I am the commanded of the King's God. I recognize no authority but the kings, and until there is one. I have no place here. Fucking go Harold. I love that man, how noble? I love that. Yeah, he's a true so isn't he. But the thing that stands out in that scene so much is Alison. You know, watching this the first time round, I came out of it thinking what a bitch and all the rest of it. But having really really analyzed it, really picked it apart. In particular this episode and that little moment that Alison in near had at the end of the dinner in the last episode. It's just I've seen it completely differently this time around. This time, like what this episode, Alice, everything Alison does is to save Ranida's life. Yeah, she's trying her best. Yeah, and what she's doing as far as usurping the throne is concerned, she truly believes that that's what passers wanted. Yes, I mean I don't see it myself. I heard the same thing Alison, and I didn't hear what you heard. But that's probably because I know about the conversation with Runia. She doesn't know what. The backstory is with that conversation or series of conversations with Reneer. Exactly, but we do as viewers. And so she really believes that she's doing the right thing, and she's doing what Viseri's wanted. After all, he was mumbling in these last days about putting things right. Yeah. So I absolutely view it in a completely different light during this rewatch. I'm going into season two with a completely different viewpoint than I would have been had we not done this podcast. Yees. So I hate her less. Yeah, I don't hate her at all. Actually I don't hear her at all. I mean, if you want to, you know, choose your side and all the rest of it. I don't think I have one. I do and I don't. I lean more towards Runia because I know she is the rightful heir she's supposed to be. That was what Visseri's wanted and the throne was stolen from her. So in a way, yes, I do want her side to win, but I don't necessarily blame Allison for what's going on on the green Side as much as I did last time. Yeah, she's been manipulated since she was a young girl, yes, and then she's grown in a much more powerful woman, but this plotting and calculating has still been going on behind her back. Yeah. I love this episode because it's such a revelation it is Alison. Yeah, definitely, and she has that awesome moment with her dad later. So yeah, back to where we are at the moment, though, Harold's obviously walked out. He's had enough. And the next thing on this topic is that Rainie's just locked up and that in itself. Again, I wasn't quite sure how to take Alison in this scene. Was it desperation? I think she just said it like it is. Yeah. I thought it was an amazing scene and yeah, my notes said Alison, she tells it like it is. Yeah, And Rainie's response to that because that's who she is. She's listening, she's taking it in, and I think she feels the same that you're telling it like it is. I've got more respectory than I did have. But then good old Rainnies, she gives it back, and she gives it back twice as good as Alison gave it to her. And Allison's expression, I felt that she looked exposed and very vulnerable again after Rennie's. Because she's so cool. Yes, she's so graceful, she's so to the point, she's such a great character. Shall we hear the same? Yes, let's do it. I will do you the considerable courtesy of the same thing. There's a good reason for the outrage of my treatment here this morning, as a serious regrets for the lack of ceremony, okay, and you are usurping the throne. It was my husband's dying wish. Believe it or no, it is of no consequence. From the look on our face. I came here to ask your support. Well, I'm as credited for your boldness. House Valarian has long allied itself with the Princess Rahania. And what has it gained you? Your daughter dead alone in Pentos of folks are none of yours. It is your husband who grasps so heedlessly for the throne, and even he has abandoned you, gone these six long years to fight a desperate battle, returning grievously, if not mortally wounded, leaving the Lady of Drift marked a charter. Of course alone. I love this. Yes, the word of my house is not fickle. There you go. No, that's dear cousin. I'm not your cousin. I know. I thought that any soul. Alive understand what I say now. I loved my husband, but I will speak the truth. We both know. You should have been queen. Yeah, I little thought to hear those words from you. Thrown was yours by blood and by temperament. For Sarah sort have lived his day as a country lord, content to hunt. And here we are. We do not rule, but we may guide the men that do gently, away from violence and sure destruction, and instead towards peace. It's in the name of peace that you've imprisoned me. And what if my dragon, if we are overmatched, will be tempted to dragon and out your dragon, she may be persuaded to negotiate. Alison hasn't imprisoned her. If it's drift mark you, you have it for you and your granddaughters to pass on as you see fit. That part's day sperate. Yes, very, you're wiser than I believe you to be. Go on ready, Alison tied. A true queen counts the cost to her people. Yet your toil still in service to men, your father, your husband, your son. You desire not to be free, but. To make a window in the wall of your prison. Have you never imagined yourself on the iron throat? No? I don't think she has. I don't think she has either. She is still a nice girl and just wants the best for the realm, not Alison. In the books, I would say, maybe not so much. But in the show absolutely she's She's a nice girl at heart. But then I, is this the real Alison? Is this what they're now trying to tell us? It's that whole thing about one person's account versus is another person's account versus the truth and the way the realm saw Alison is reaching for power. But that's the way the realm sees Alison, and the TV version as well. But we see a different side of her as the audience. So yeah, I often wonder if this is like the way George always wanted it, or is this is the way they've adapted it for TV. Whichever way, it's really cool. It is very cool. I think this is this is better. This shows so much more layers. Yeah than just evil power grabbing bitch, someone who who isn't evil, She's just doing what she thinks is best. She's been a victim of circumstance. Absolutely, definitely, that is so true. So the next scene along the lines of the plot is bend the knee or die. That was an intense scene. Really was absolutely. For me. I had a little bit of a Game of Thrones flashback, not to something that so much happened in Game of Thrones, but something that was referenced often in Game of Thrones, which was ned Stark's father and brother going to the throne room to bend the knee, yeah, and both being killed by think it was wildfire? Were they burned by wildfire? I think so? So yeah, Like yeah, I was getting all sorts of Game of Thrones vibes from this scene. But it was very intense. I love that we had Lord Merriweather, who was played by Paul Clayton he was just like, no, no, no, absolutely no, I swore an oath to the princess. And then we had Lady Fell, Maria and Lucia house Fell stands with the princess or keeps their oaths to the princess. Yeah, I think was our words, absolutely brilliant. Of course we have Caswell there having a complete wobble. He was hitting himself really and quite rightly. So yeah, but like I mean, he ends up making a run for it, gets busted, and later on we see him hanging from an archway, and it made me wonder what happened to Lady Fell and Lord Merriweather. They were arrested, but what happened to them afterwards? Whereas Caswell, who did the sneaky sneaky bent the knee and then tried to make a runner, he was executed and wouldn't have been better to just stand your ground? Who knows, because we don't know what happened to Lady Fell and worn any weather, but they weren't hanging from an archway we know. Did you have any other notes in that scene? No? I just wrote that he was an absolute weasel when he turned in, and he's like, I've got no love for the princess. Yeah, shady, get what self preservation? Yeah, and I've got far too much attitude for self preservation. I'd get myself killed with my big mouth. Absolutely weird. I'm not going to disagree with that. No, no, because you know me. So Laris kind of shocked Auto, didn't he Oh he's awful, which one, oh, both of them, but Laris is kind of Trump and Auto in that moment. I'm rather equally as limey. I wrote creepy cunt deal slimy characters, Oh big time, they're just oh they were just using slime all over each other there, yeah, yeah, it was yeah, so yeah, that was That was a wee bit. It's like, oh, well, there's no reason why that shouldn't benefit you. But then what is he doing. He's playing everyone, He's doing a bailish. He's playing every game, every eye, every game, so that whatever, whenever he sees it an opportunity, can exploit it to do you think he really sees himself on the iron throne? Who knows? Who knows? Every time he is in a shot is just more surprisingly vile. Yeah we'll get to that. Yeah, So the next major plot line where the fuck is he gone? And one of my favorite lines of the episodes, it's Elena not here. It's not just that she says not here, it's it's the way she looks around the room not here. She's quite amusing. Actually, she hasn't got a lot of a lot of scenes. What's her name, Fia Sabin, But she doesn't have a lot of scenes, but everyone that she does, she's in his pure gold. I absolutely love her. So we've got this power play between O and Allison trying to outdo each other. You know. Oho sends Eric and Aeric out in street clothes, and Allison sends Kristen and Amond, although she sends Aimond reluctantly, but she sends him nonetheless. And off the two that the four of them go and their little mission two to find out what has happened to Agon. And I found both scenes very very interesting. We hit flashing back between the two of them and the contrasts, well you what notts have you got? It was more about the side plot of that actually, the with the with the children, all the children, Yes, absolutely, so yeah, let's let's let's talk about that, because like we've got for all, you've got the Eric and Eric ones. We get some really nice aerial shots the King's landing as they go in to this place. Yeah, and what was theirs? There's children's fighting pits. This was absolutely brutal. Well, first they got that brothel. Oh no, that's that was the Christian It is because I've wrote my notes the other way around. I've done Eric and Eric first and then Kristen. Yeah, actually you're not. You're not all on your own there, because I had to go back up to my notes to get back to this bit because it does. Go back and forward between the two. So I've kind of split it into Eric and Arek and Kristen and Amon. Yeah, which you had to do to make sense of it, didn't you. Yeah, absolutely, So let's just do Eric and adics. Just now the fighting pits? So what was your what notes have you got there? Just horrendous that they've said their teeth or filed, their nails are grown, they're ten years old, and that that's what Eggone's less discriminate taste is. It's just disgusting, and people are they're like a baying mob. They're pushing these kids in and oh it's awful. It's by far one of the worst things I think I've ever seen. Yeah, I've seen some pride dark and gory stuff, but that was well, that was a whole new level of just depravity. Yeah. I mean at first I thought, oh, is it like a slave kind of sale pit thing? And then when you find out that it's a children's fighting pit, Oh, it's really sad. So Eric's telling Erics that, you know, this is what he's into, this is this is our new king, this is who he is. And of course Ale's like, you know, he sees it, and he's just as shocked, but he's like, but we swore an oath until death. And you know, there's a lot of tune and throwing going between these guys regarding this matter, and you could and it's hard to follow because it's hard to tell which ones which and I'm not going to lie. I had to rewind pause, figure out who's weighing what. Look at the subtitles, and I'm telling you, by the way, and one of these scenes between these guys, the subtitles is wrong when it's actually aeric and yeah, it's really hard to follow. So whoever's done the subtitles has got this one bit wrong, which confused the hell out of me. But I eventually figured out that that's what the problem was. And then I went on another street service to see if they had got it right, and they'd got it wrong too, so that was annoying. So yes, right, so that's Eric and Eric, and we've also got Christian and him and and they go to the brothel. As you say, that was funny, Yeah, that was quite funny. It was. But the madam's face when she's talking about a gone and she's talking about his more less discriminate tastes. Yeah, and then they're like, well, what do you mean and she's just like, good luck, guys. She's like I'm not getting into that. I'm having that ado with that, but I love that she gave him and the wink like you've grown, and you're like, if you could have shrunk any further under that? So yeah, they're back and forth, and you know, Eric and Eric are having their wee debate about who Agan is. And of course there's a little the little boy under the stairs that's clearly of Turgarian descent and it is that Eric says, and there's probably more like him as well, So that was pretty sold. And then Okay, I'm gonna have to go now a little by a tangent here to explain my next note. But everyone aimed wants the beanie, and I'm going to explain the beanie, okay, because the beanie comes up quite a lot in my notes a time, so I'm just going to explain it to you and their listeners. So my friends and I used to play a quite toxic survival game called Rust. Yeah, and you get various items of clothing in the game of Rust, and one of them is the beanie, right, And there was a rather funny incident where my friends say, I got really attached to her beanie and this was her thing. And there was lots of mucking around and trying to you know, fighting and getting the beanie off each other. But she got very, very attached to this beanrie to at one point when she had went out out in the wilderness and got killed by someone, she starts knocking on his door afterwards, going, oh my beanie back, Oh my beanie back. So this guy later on we did read on. Then we got the beanie back. But that's a whole other story. But the beanie became the symbol of power in our in our little group, right, the beanie was the symbol of power. So we've had lots of ongoing jokes since then about so and so wants the beanie, and that's where this came from. That's the Amin's talking about in this scene. He he wants to be king if I you know, if they come looking for me, I intend to be found and all that. It is like, so, Aimon absolutely one thousand percent wants the beanie and he has massive, massive second Son syndrome. Don't you think, yes, oh, it's it's it's it's quite toxic in them. I think. I don't think either would be a good king. No, No, definitely not. I mean Amon's giving up of all sorts of damon vibes. Who's given of all sorts of es? So, yeah, he's impulsive and rash. He seems to have this I can't remember exactly what he says to Kristen Cole, but we are men of virtue and and all that crap, and we don't get involved in depravities. And listen, love, just because you don't go to the brothel doesn't make you're going you're going to be a good king. You're you're still a knob. No, well for many many reasons anyway, So the white Worm makes an offer to the hand and Masaria knows all she's she's she's reaching. Oh boy, is she reaching for a good cause? Oh yeah, yeah, I can't argue with that. Love. How noble she is about like her noble yes, but she's just got a target on her back, very pretty abducting the Oh the usurper. I mean, I'm not calling him the king, he's the Usurper. No, he's the Usurper. So yeah, she's like she will deal with the hand only, but I have the scene. So what's there, crab? You yourself are a mysterious wife. Were I take it you already knew that? Or simply a further appeal and the sticking. On him macnjolence is on the person of your king. Messaia knows everything. I just think does he not recognize her from that time at Dragon Store and she was with Damon? Yeah he does know who she is, because she does. He's too clever to not know who she is. She Yeah, I thought the prince is in Phillip Bottom when no one needs to be trusted. That's a Christian somewhere sacs. They come looking for him. Where's the prince? He safely tucked away? Actually, mm hmm. I want an end to the savage use of children in Flea Bottom. They are forced to fight done worse your god cloaks. Take the bribes given them to look away an obscenity, yes, either to or ignored by the crown, a. Very noble cause by looking to it. Mm hmm. What's your word? Worse shape? When your blood's rapping and you install your grandson on the front, Remember it was me who put him there. I could have killed them a reaching. There is no power, but what the people allow you to take? True story? Thank your step she triggered them. Yeah, I will remember, yeah, yeah, And that is why we see her building on fire. I'm just going to dispose right now. I had no idea whose building was on fire. It took me a while to figure it out as well. Wasn't sure the first time either. But yes, that is the conspiracy that Larice and Auto concocted. And that awkward, creepy cunt deal scene that we saw earlier, that was Laris's man, the one whose tongue he cut out and sent to har And Hall and Murgery's brother and father. It was the same guy that was walking away from the building fantastic arsonist. Oh yeah, yeah, he's certainly got that down. Yeah, that's his only skill that was top of CV. Yeah, so this did I mean this is also Laris is like, well there's something I can do for you, probably, and also is like, actually, well there was a bitch I was talking to earlier. Yeah, I think we need to deal with that. So that is what's happened there, And as bad I feel bad for massarias she worked her way up from nothing, Yeah, and she got herself into a place where she was established, she was making money, she was in charge of herself, which I think was the most important thing to her, and now her livelihood has been burned down and clearly the hand once are dead. Yeah, so who knows what position that'll put her in going forward. Be interested in see how that plays out. Do you have any notes from that clip? Nothing that we haven't already covered. I do think it's interesting how they have developed my Siria's character, right, she didn't play a massive part in the books. She was just basically what book She was just basically Demon's love interest for a while yeah, but it's great that she's had a bigger role in the show. Right, right, right, Okay, So yeah, as far as, like I said, I've only read up to Visers's death in the book because I don't want to spoil season two for myself. Although I spoiled myself on a couple of things. But we'll get to that when they happen. But yeah, as far as I knew as well that she was only with the demon thing, but I didn't know if she came into it more later. But you're saying no, but right, Okay, So she obviously directs Auto to where to find Eggon and he sends the cargo twins in instead. Yeah, okay, this is this is funny. It's just like under a table and he was asking for, wasn't he? Well I heard him asking for was his mother? I want my mother, I want my mom. But yeah, I think he asked for Missaria too, like he knew that she was the reason he was there. I don't know if he was really so much a prisoner as I felt like he like she was hiding him. He was willing to hide, That's what I mean. He was complicit in the hiding. He wasn't He wasn't a kidnap victim. No, no, no, no, no, he was hiding and he thought she was hiding him where she was really using He was a hostage. Yeah, he was absolutely a hostage. Without even realizing it, he was too drunk, oh little twat. So yeah, he tries to make her un for it, and only one of the Cargol twins runs after him, and they bump into Christen Cole and Amon on the outside, and you know, a little scuffle ensues, and this is where the subtitle thing was wrong, right, because it was Eric Cargill that left. Yeah, right, but the subtitle was coming from the one who was fighting, shouting are you going to help me? And it said sir Eric, And I was like, no, that's not right, that's not right, because Eric's the one that leaves. Right. So anyway, this fight breaks out with Kristin Cole. And did you not get the impression from Kristen that he kind of wanted to fight him? Yeah, but I don't think he gave it his best. No, No, I definitely don't either, But I think it was like this, yeah, okay, we've been you know, I kind of always wanted to know how hard you really are. Yeah, it was that kind of thing. So meanwhile, Amond and Agon are having a scuffle and Agon doesn't want the beanie. He does not he does not want the beanie. I'm not on a ship and say me far away from yours. I'm not suited. No, you're not. At least he's self aware enough to know that. Yeah, we'll give him the credit. Although you know, by the time he's standing up on that days with a crowd cheer and he starting to think he could get used to it. But we'll get to that. Did you have any other notes on that scene? No? Right, So next I have Alison and Auto. Yeah, big ploto ploto. I love that. I love that she's seen him for what he is, Yes, and everything that he's done. Well, that's exactly what I've got written here is Alex and sees through Auto. Now. I love her line, reluctance to murder is not a weakness. Yeah, and she's right, she absolutely is. I love this whole. The dynamic of this episode is these two playing off against each other to try and gain control of the king. Whoever has the king has the control. And I think that it was just brilliant. It was great to see her working against her father rather than Beanie's instrument for a change. Yeah. So yeah, have you got any other notes on that? On No, I think we had very similar notes on that, just that she she really. Wants to make terms for Ranida. Well yeah, that's the one other note that I have here is that in winning that battle against Auto, she saved Ranida's life. Oh actually I did have another note on this. What was at the bottom is when she finishes saying what she's saying, and she's right, and she says very clearly what her terms are and the crown and egg on in the morning, do it straight away, make sure the masses are there, do it in a way that will a firm piece. Yeah, essentially. And he's just a horrible, smarmy git and says to her he looks so much like your mother uncertain lights. God, look on her face is just like, oh fuck off, I know. But when she leaves, he has this moment on his own and he says, as you wish. Yeah, So I mean he is proud of. Her, yes, but that that's shutting her down with you look like your mother in certain lights. And she's aware of that. Fuck off, just fuck off with that. Absolutely that moment I had, I took mentally took note of it, but then I didn't write it down. But I was so glad you brought it up because I wanted to talk about it. You look like your mother that was such a desperate and she saw right through it this time, and her face, like you say, was just oh, don't even fucking play me. Yeah, yeah, she was just like, no, no, I'm not falling for this shit anymore. Like and good for her, Yeah, Like, I really liked her in this moment. I really liked that she not only saw through she was willing to just go, oh, you're not even good at this anymore. By the way, Oh I wish you'd done this in the next scene. Oh oh god. Right, okay, right, okay. So I'm just gonna play this right and get out of the way, because every time I look at this clip that I've titled Larice, I go, oh, right, so let's just play it. I have those emojis in my notes. Yeah, there's a web of spies at work in the Red Cape. Along it's threads news of all our doings. Your father knows this, but has left it. In place, said the spider to the flat. More than once, it has proved advantageous to those willing to feed the weaver. And this weaver watches me. At this moment, she's using her feet as payment for his information. I know, yuck. Oh, it's so gross. And she gets her feet out a bit more. She like puts her feet up, and then she takes her fucking socks off. I know, it's first out of the shoes. Then it's like a. Little spiders, it's your lady in waiting. Yuck. This was after she for socks off. I'm more like. Her because he wouldn't talk until she did. There is one way to destroy his advantage. It must be taken out at the head, and the queen dies. The bays fly with that purpose. Thinking you pardon for the turn of phrase, graz. I assume this task balls within your expertise. If you wish you. It will be done now. At this point, this nasty little fucker is having a wank over her feet, well not literally over her feet, but she's she's on a show. In this scene is a lot longer dialogue. She turned her face away, she's looking in the opposite direction and he's got his hand in his robe and he's having a right good play with himself and it's just so disgusting. It made me think, oh, Allison, you've really stooped low this time. Love. I know that she's had these years with vissers and it was we're touching it in a previous episode that I mean, it wasn't consensual, No, it was I was very rapey. So now she's like, well, I'll just let him have a wank at the thought of my feet or the view of my feet. It's got to be better than having to lie on my back. And I love, come on, I know, it's just she clearly still has very little self respect, despite how strong she was showing in the previous scene. Yeah, but at the same time, it's like, or is it just that she really really wants the information? But anyway, the whole scene is really really, really disturbing. But it makes me wonder, like, how did this come about the first time? How do you approach your queen and say, get your seet out a fancy a wank. I mean, oh, it's just that it doesn't even be thinking about let's move on. Oh jeez, right, So this brings us up to coronation day and it is chaos. First thing that happens, of course, is that in the middle of the night, Eric Cargill decides to get three Rainyes, which is absolutely fucking amazing. Yeah. I love that he's already decided fuck this. He's even walked out on his brother and he's gone. He's collected these, collected his armor first, you know, like, you know, he was in street clothes, which you think would be better for an escape. Yeah, it did kind of think you're not really incognito anymore. Yeah, it's like marchers to the streets where he's white cloak floating behind them, and I'm like, yeah, you stand out mate, it's in my nose. So as they are going to see the fire as well, of course. Yeah, so now we know what the fire was. Didn't have a clue the first time I watched it though, And then the crowd start getting steered towards the dragon pit and him and Rainie's get split up. Yeah. Did you know how quickly it turned from night to day? Yeah? Well it was. It was very dawn esque, wasn't it. Yeah, it was just before dawn when they were escaping, and then all of a sudden, it's like right daylight. Yeah, but I suppose it would take time to get through through the streets they were heading. Look, I've been there driving to work, particularly when my door did figure skating, you know, like those such early mornings and then you're like, whoa, wow, we're here and it's white. We left half an hour ago and it was dark and it was one of those, so where was it? So the crowds start pushing them in a certain direction, and I just I love this moment when Rainie's realizes it's the dragon Pit they're heading for, and she just gets this little smile on her face and she's like, that's where I wanted to go. He wasn't going to let me go there. But now I get to go there. That's fab Now I can get out here. Yeah, And you just see her whole plan wash over her face. That's brilliant. So meanwhile we see the royal carriage making its way towards the dragon Pit, also for the coronation, And I clipped this because I'll just find the scene a little bit. I don't know. I thought it was quite touching between the two of them. I think that's the word. Yeah, it was. It was. It was a moment. It was aside to both of them that I don't think we've seen Yeah, so interesting, have the decency. To look grateful? Do you know what's been done to give you this day? In an hour you will be king. And my father never wanted this, as he had tried to years to name the air, he never did. Steadfastly he upheld the nearest play. He changed his mind, He could have, but he never did. Because he didn't like me. And yet with his final breath he whispered to me that you should take his place on the throat. And she really believes that, but he doesn't. Know knocked it with mother to speak the truth. She's just giving him the dagger. Listen to me again, your grandfather, the hand will try to impress on you that were near we should be put to the sword. You must reject this counsel. We must not rule with cruelty and candousness, rull her faults. She's your sister, You're with your father's daughter. You love Oh, oh you're imbusy, Oh dear, it's a way only a mother kid child idiot. Of course I love you, and it is it's very moving that the scene. You can see the love that Alison has form. But she also she she wants to guide them towards the right path, yeah, and away from the wrong path, which is meurturing Randa. And like I said, throughout this whole episode, Alison's entire mission has been to SA's. She's not working against them in any other way. It's just on this one fact. She's smart enough to know that the masses will want a king, yes, because there's never been a queen. Exactly, And yeah, the people will be quite happy to accept a king, and she thinks that's what the series wants. And you know, half the court have been plotting to put it in a place anyway, So you know, let's just roll with that. Yeah, firefight the best outcome. But she just murdering Nina, that's where she draws the line. Yeah, and I want to say she's okay. As much as I don't condone murder in the world that they live in, I think Allison's been very naive because as long as Ruania lives, people will flock to her side to oppose them, which will bring war. So if we're looking at this purely from Allison's perspective, I think her plan to keep Runia alive is very naive and unrealistic. As long as Runia lives, there will always be opposition, which means there will be inevitably war Like after the War of the Roses, as brutal as it was, the last remaining heirs of the York side were when executed, and what followed was decades of peace after decades of war. As soon as there was no more position, the war's ended. And unfortunately that's that's what it requires in order for her to be piece. So it's it's naive of Alison, as heartfelt and indeeding as it is, it's in this instance and trying to do good, she's actually making it worse. Not that I wanted to. We need her to die, absolutely not. No, you're sending very camp otto. I'm not. I'm not. I'm just a realist. I think, Yes he does. He does, and that is what also is trying to say. But that's because he's a power hungry get not a realist. Maybe both, maybe both. Yeah, Well, I can't argue with what he's saying. Is the reality, even if it's not a good reality. So where were we they're pushing towards the dragon Rainy's has lost egg. Allison is calling an egg on in Basil, and then we get to the dragon pit and wow, how amazing does this look? Yeah, it's awesome. It is so big and imposing. And while we've seen it in you know, those aerial shots with Rnita and Cierex flying in over the cities, this is it from ground level looking up at it. Yeah, and it's wow. It's so big outside, and then you get inside and you're like, oh my god. And then you know, like all these people and all this noise, and I'm thinking, what's going on with the dragons downstairs? Or they're like not a little bit freaked out by all this noise? Well, I know my dog goes nuts when anybody passes the door, So I can't imagine what dragons are doing with thousands of people trot about above their heads. No wonder Metley's was pissed. Which anyway, so you know that I put on that Dais and all was really selling it, isn't he? I thought he was a bit weak. Yeah, it could have been better, but you know. I thought my notes say Auto declares the king's death was shite, because, like we've said, we're used to Harold Westernling, Yes, and he is absolutely awesome. Yeah, and then Otto is just a bit He's a bit weak, isn't he? He is absolutely is. His announcement in the King's death was weak. Christian called wee speech as he gave him the crown and of him was a bit weak, excepting usetas giving it. The titles and stuff was all a bit weak. They all need to go to the Harold Westerling or Graham McTavish school of title reading. Yes, they do, absolutely, they need some schooling. Honestly, Graham leaves and August to shit. What I did think was really cul was the sword display when Eggon comes in, Oh yeah, and they comes through and they drop as he goes through each one. The music was amazing synchronized sword thing and it's like I'm doing hand actions just and it was actually really cool. I really like that. See, I loved it. It was brilliant. But did you see Otto's face as the trumpets went off just before that? So so just before this Egon walks through the swords, there's like some trumpet blair to announce him arriving, and it goes up and there's just this face on Auto and it's just like, hmm, this is the moment I've been waiting for my whole life, and it's just it's like, went, yes, yeah, that was it. I fucking win. So yeah, we've got this face for the auto. And then Egon makes this walk and the music was awesome. It was awesome. I love the music during this walk. It was really good. I Meanwhile, we see Rainie's sneak off. Yeah, and then you know, he gets up to onto that dais and annoint aid by Septing Eustace, and then he stands and he looks at every single member of his family, looking further submission, I suppose, yeah, yeah, perfect, yeah, yeah, Amon gives him the side eye. Did you see that? Just one side? I know, just one side. Absolutely. So he's crowned by the new Lord Commander of the King's Guard, and he's equally as shite to be honest. Oh god, Antiki I thought, yes, he says something about the one True King or something like that, but then it's Septing Eustace that actually says Lord of the Seven Kingdom of the Realm speech and he was all right, but it wasn't quite Graem McTavish, no part. We all told to be honest. Yeah. Yeah, they were all sort of middle of the road. You can tell that, you know, like I said before, when you look at your script and you see that all you've got is title reading, you're going to be the best damn title reader that ever was. I did think it was a bit slow on the applause, which was kind of an awkward moment. There was a few seconds of silence, but then the crowd seemed happy. They were like, right, okay, we've got a new king. Excellent. Yeah. We know from Nida's walks through the streets in Kingsland and after dark that the people generally were for the young prince as opposed to the princess anyway. And I did feel that it gave him a look of confidence that he'd never had before, that he maybe never felt. In his life. Oh yeah, this is the affirmation that he needed. Yeah. I wrote looks and bows, you know, there was I brote eggonky get used to this, Yeah, and then I wrote auto too, because he had another moment. There was another auto face. Yeah. I felt that auto face was kind of looking at Eggon like, great, I can manipulate you. Your your week, Yes exactly. Yeah, I saw that too. But the other thing that stood out for me in this moment was bloody blackfire. Yes, that was stunning. We've seen the sword so many times, but I think that was the closest shot we'd ever had of this beautiful ornate handle. Yeah. Oh it was lovely. What a sword? What a sword? Indeed? And so I believe this brings us to the end of the scene. If we are leaving Melly's to the dragon section, yeah, I go on, then let's leave Mellis to the dragon section. Absolutely, So that brings us to the end of episode nine. And now I'll take a short break and we will move on to episode ten. The Princess Rainice is tag area. Thank you so, Lauren. Princess Rainice, might we hope for news of Lord Carlis's recovery. Sarah's is dead? Wow? How's going on? I grieve this loss with you, Ranera, my cousin. Your father. Possessed a kind heart. There is more. Egon has been crowned as his successor. They crowned him. How did the sayres die? I could not say. Quite long ago to day passed, perhaps two. I was made a prisoner in my quart as while the Queen made her. Preparations been slain. A listen demanded you declare for Egon. She did. I refused her, and yet you are alive. The High Septum crowned Eggon in the dragon pit. I witnessed it myself, just before I fled on me Les. They crowned him before the masses, so. That the masses would see him as their rightful king. The tour of the Queen murdered my brother and stole his throne, and you could have gone for it. A war is like to be thought of this treachery, to be sure, but that whoe is not mine to be gain. I only rushed this morning to you out of loyalty to my husband into my house. The greens are coming for you, Ranera, and for your children should leave dragons down at once. So they've come into this thinking that Rainie has come to give the news of Corliss. After Rania and Luceras have had this conversation about being the lord of drift Mark. Yeah, Luke was pondering over the map, Well, look at drift Mark and thinking of itself. I get seasick man. Yeah, like before the boat has even left the dock. I want to be sick. And my grandsire is the master of all ships. He's a fantastic swordsman and sailor and he's the coolest guy ever, and I've used to Yeah, and. Luke does not want the beanie. No, he does not want the beanie. But then Rainie's comes in and drops the bomb, so bluntly, Viserius is dead. Come on, Yes, yeah, the attacked was not her strong suit in that moment. No, it wasn't. What she had to get her point across, and get her point across quick, yeah, because every minute, you know, the passes, they're getting more and more support to their side. Yeah, and they've got the jump, and so she needed to level the playing field. Yeah. And you know, despite declaring no for no side, at this point, I think her actions speak volumes. Yeah. Yeah, Ranida seems to be in complete shock. Her labor's begun. Damon is furia, Yeah, oh god, and he thinks. That you know that the series has been murdered. Yeah, I thought, I'm not sure that was so much labor as miscarriage. Well, yeah, hourly labor, early labor. I wrote early labor, but that was that was triggered by shock? Yeah, and yeah it was. It was very very intense to watch that. It was acted tremendously. It was she was so brave and even when the midwives asked or pleaded, rather let us help you, no, she. She had to do it herself. She knew it was too early. She knew something was wrong. I wonder if her mind casted back to her mother's labor, and if she wondered, is this going to be the end of me? I won't let it be the end of me. I will decide. And that's why she did it on her own. It's like, I'm getting this baby out. Yeah, I think the down she knew it was not going to be alive and that she had to just get on with it before the world crumbled around her. I cried, Oh me too. It was very, very very hard watch it was. I've just wrote the worth scene with some exclamation marks. I wrote, the birth is fucking hard to watch. And the hugging and it seemed to go on for a few hours, and then the wrapping she does that herself. She seems very alone, all those people in the room with her, and then the scene the shot goes to Damon on his own on the beat. Yeah, I got Megor vibes. Yeah, I never thought about that until you said it, actually, but yeah, you know Megor's main thing was to I mean, Damon has airs, but it was that losing children that tipped Megor over the edge. And I feel like this is losing his brother and losing hit one of his children. Yeah, it's tipped him over the edge. And well Visceris has maybe been dead for a day or so at this point. He just found out, So yeah, this is like one loss after another in the same day. He's It's a lot for someone to process, and especially someone as complex as Daywin. Yeah, and he's been there before when he lost his wife and child. But I think Vices was the only person in the world that he was genuinely that close to. Yeah, yeah, for sure, it was. It was very sad, the whole thing. It was right like Emma Darcy, you know, opening scenes for her in this series was labor and then again this really intense labor. And again it's the contrast between one labor to the other. You know, where one was quite you know, healthy, normal labor with no complications, and but the pain that she was going through was clearly on another level, just like it was with Lena, And that was very apparent in the way that the scene was portrayed, that it was clear that something was wrong. This wasn't just normal labor pains. Something's wrong here. So yeah, it was very, very hard to watch. At the funeral, we we get the beginning of you know, Damon has smirked all the way through. Yeah, well this is the first time that Rainie's takes over Damon's mantle love smirk. Yeah, and there's a moment at the funeral where she looks at them and I felt she had a look of now you understand my pain because I lost my son because of you. I lost my daughter because of you, and now you've lost a child and now you understand my pain. I think, Yeah, watch your back and watch your face. Okay, I will right interesting. M So, while this dreadful Worth scene is going on, we have Damon's war council. Yeah that's a fight, isn't he. Oh yeah, So first of all, he's talking about, you know, we don't have enough people to we don't have enough people to you know, watch any attack or do know. Sorry what he says if we don't have enough people to surround the island, but we could certainly make it look like we're more reinforced than we are. Yeah, so all about keeping up appearances. He's like, can script the dragon keepers, they can fight, and then he's talking about flying a river run and you know he's got all these plans and then Jase comes in and shuts them down as Yeah. I mean, while Vernida's given birth, she's so spectacular, although she's gone through all of this, she sends for our boys and she fills her boys in on what's going on whilst she's having this horrible labor and says, basically, nobody makes any decisions until I'm done, until I'm back. That's it. That's right. Can we all just slow down un till I have this baby? Yeah, Like, there's nothing I can do about it. I can't put that on hold. Yous are are going to have to just wait for me? So yeah, I love that. You know the way Jase comes in and he tries to shut the damon down, he's very very brave. He's very brave, he's very firm, he's very authorative. You'll do no such thing. And you know, it comes in meaning it. He means it, but Damon's hard to tame, and so yeah, at this point, I wouldn't say Damon underminds them, but you know, threatening to roast a couple of guys maybe not the waiting. It's a little step dad thing, isn't it. Yeah, I want to teach you a lesson, but it's it's a bit harsh. Yeah, yeah, it really was. So yeah, it's all very tense, and you know, Deamon's like, we'll talk about that scene in the dragon section. Yeah, but Demon's rare to go. He just he's like, fight brilliant, let's get in there. The best it gets is a raven So true. So yeah, Rinia did his tender tair baby and they all go for the funeral. And I love this scene. I just thought this scene was just absolutely it was so moving on so many different levels. Yeah, I did not see the thing you said about Rainie's I saw her smirking, but I felt like she just wore a permanent smirk all the way through this episode, and it was so hard to read. I was never sure what she was smirking about, because she was clearly on their side but unwilling to declare as a mother. I think that's where she was coming from that. Like she said, the stranger has visited her so many times. Now it's your turn, Rania and Demon, because she feels like Ranera and Demon have taken her only children away from her. Yeah, I mean, you could be right. I don't want to believe that, though, because like I want to wish that pain on my worst enemy, and I don't want to believe that that Renie's did it too. I think if someone had taken your children away from you, maybe maybe. I don't think anyone is above looking at someone who's going through that pain, because no one knows that pain until they've gone through it. I don't think anyone is above looking at someone and thinking, now you understand, now you know how I feel? Yeah, you could be right. Wow, some pretty intense stuff going on there, isn't there There's so many themes. Yeah. So they say goodbye to the baby, and a stranger arrives and I just love this moment. I fact, I'm going to play this because it's just so cool. I swear toward the Queen with all my strength and give my blood for hers. I shall take no. Wife, hold no lands, father, no children, I shall guard her secrets, obey. Her commands, ride at her side, and defend her name and honor. Yeah. I love that. It's just such a great moment. I love just the look on their faces when when he hands over the crown and they just they realize how this guy is really on our side. And yeah, it's a it's a really touching moment, and it just gives it gives that significance as suppose to Nia being queen, that they have the ability to crown her now. Yeah, and I love it. It was such a good moment. What a nice moment to get her dad's crown, Yes, exactly, something to lift her up after what she has just been through. And I think it's it's lovely in that moment the Damon crowns are he puts the crown on her. But I have to say, this is probably the only moment in this episode that I like Damon. I would agree, Yeah, it was. He was quite he was quite frosty this week for sure. But everybody bows at this point except Rainey's and I felt it was a statement of I will not declare until I've spoke to my husband. Yeah, absolutely so. And she doesn't have long to wait, No she doesn't. She doesn't because he's on his way. So yes, that brings us to the war table, and that table is so much was my nose. Oh that was probably one of the coolest things I have seen in Throne's history. Yeah, yeah, like I did not know it did that. That was wicked cool. I love it. Oh, it was so cool. I want that table even more now function. Yeah, it fucking glows. It's so cool. Loved that scene. Loved it. But once everyone has then gathered around the table and discussions take place, Bunie asks how where they stand? So yeah, they have thirty knights, one hundred crossbowmen and three hundred men at arms, which is good for defense only, really not good for mounting any sort of attacks. But they could hold dragon Stone with that easy. He also reckons is that you can maybe get some some of these old buddies for the city watch. The houses that have signed up already are Keltigar, Staunton, Massy, Darklynn, and Barrymon. Not signed up yet but hopeful are Aaron, Tully and Starks and there for the North and also bored Us. But oh and Lord Grover as well. They are not signed up yet, but they are hopeful that they will have them to their side, and of course that is a big question mark over Valarian at the moment. Yeah, and Rains is still on the fence, isn't she? She is? I don't. I think it's maybe this scene that kind of decides it for her. You know, everybody's ready a go, go go, and she can see Ranida's hesitance and it's not because she's scared. It's not because she's not capable of leading. It's because she doesn't want to start a fucking war. She's very regal, isn't she. Yeah, she's a good queen. She comes across as a good queen. She certainly does. So. The Greens have three adult dragons, the Blacks have six Kaxes and Mellie's the Rainys is like, okay, then when did that sign up for this? Yah? They also have vermax Arex and Tyraxes, although Taraxes is about seven years old at this time, so I don't know how big a seven year old dragon is. In my mind, they're still lighting candles at seven absolutely, birthday cakes and stuff. There's no there's not a lot of death drigaris going on. There no definitely not maybe roasting sparrows at this point, who knows, I. Don't know what. I'm just trying to think about. How long was Donaries's journey from you know, her hatching her dragon eggs until you know, she had full grown dragons flying about over Esaus, burning cheap and little boys. Well, if it was more than seven years, she looked very well. Yeah, I don't know. They never Game of Thrones time is really hard to follow. Yeah, it's been a lot easier in Season one House to the Dragon because we've had some very clear time jumps. Yeah, but Game of Thrones time was very, very hard to follow, and I'm not entirely sure without taking a deep dive into exactly how much time passed before there was a full grown dragon. But they also have Moon Dancer unclaimed. There is sea smoke still in drift mark Ermarthor and Silver Wing resting the Dragonmont at Dragonstone. And there's also three wild dragons who all nest at Dragonstone. And I didn't know that before this speech. I knew there were three wild dragons kicking around the Seven Kingdoms, I didn't realize that they nested at Dragonstone. So interesting, So Damon calls it at thirteen to four. I'm trying to figure out who the four dragons are on the green side. We've got Fagar Sunfire, and then we're stuck. Yeah, so yeah, thirteen of four. It seems the odds are certainly favor the Blacks when it comes to a dragon fight. But then there are two big, badass old dragons there, So yes, where I've lost my chain of thought now, So yeah, we've got demon going on about all these that we have this and we have that, and I'm going to go here and we're going to get this one and we're going to get that one. And meanwhile, did you see Rania's face during all of this, She's like, you've decided what now, and you're doing what you're going to. Let me get a word done. There was a lot of that, a lot of tense looks from Nanida. She feels certainly feels a little bit threatened by how he's trying to wear the boss pants. He wants the beanie. He wants the beanie for sure. So yeah, then while all this is going on, somebody comes in with some drags edit cargo away. He comes back and telling them that they have visitors a ship is approaching. Lovely yes, and then it's deja vous on the dragon Stone Bridge. I love this. Actually, you ever felt like we've been here before? Yeah, it was all very familiar. What am I saying? Yes? So they walk over and then I was like, where's the princess? And Damon says nothing? And I love this and I've just whrote it. Sometimes silence is more threatening. Always reminds me of playing like Elder Scrolls, games like Skyrim and stuff like that. When you go the Dark Brotherhood, you get whenever you speak to someone, You've got like the option, like three different options of things to say. One of them has just remain silent, and I always choose remain silent, to be all dark and serious, very imposing of you. Absolutely. You know, I'm just playing like NPCs. They're not real people, but you know, I got to get my role play on. I'm joking, I don't do lay. So yeah, and enters the princess and it's queen. Yes, well exactly, And I love that. This is just like straight out of you know, the previous scene of the dragon Stone Bridge, and you know she's offer a dragon. She comes from behind them and walks right through them all and it's just like, yeah, I'm not scared of you. I'm not scared of you. And if you even flinch, Cirex, I'll have you. Yeah. I love it. So yeah, I've got a clip from this scene. It's good. K Yes, Princess Ramira. From Queen Rania. Now, yes you are and you all are traitors to the realm. King Eggon Targarian, second of his name, in his wisdom and desire for peace, is offering. Terms love, silence, back chatting. Acknowledge Eggon as king, and swear abasiance before the Iron throne. In exchange, his grace will confirm your possession of Dragonstone. It will pass to your true born son to Sirius. Upon your death, Massiris will be confirmed as the legitimateaire to Driftmark and all the lands and holdings of House Bellarian. Your sons by Prince Damon will also be given places of high honor at court, Eggon the Younger as the King's squire, for Serus as his cup bearer. Finally, the King and his good grace will pardon any knight or lord who conspired against his assent. I would rather feed my sons to the dragons. Than have then carried shields and cups for your drunken usurp. The count of a king and non Targurian sits the iron throne. Okay, take it back along. His crown wields the conqueror's sword as the conqueror's name. He was anointed by a sceptain of the faith before the eyes of thousands. Every symbol of legitimacy belongs to him. Well played decade. And then there is stark Tully Baraffian houses that have also received and are at present considering generous terms from their king. Stark Tully and Barrathian all swore to me when King Visayas named me his heir. Stale oaths will not put you on the iron throne, Princess, if the succession changed the day your father sired son, I only regret that you and he were the last to see the truth of it. Out in more hand than egg is kill fucking traitor. Yes, you tell him, hen he absolutely is. So you know, I just noticed it there here in the audio. I don't think I noticed it in previous clips. The way he says dragon Stone all passed to your true true born son just erries you know it's funny. I thought it's funny how he never choked on a single word because they're not his words, they're Allisent's words. But he never faltered. So kudos to auto yeah for not choking on his words, because I bet he didn't mean a single word of it. Yeah, absolutely, Oh it was. I love the way she just rips the pen off on and throws away. But then he's a horrible backhanded arsehole and hands are that that page from the book? Oh I more blackmail? Yeah? What did? Oh? Total emotional But that was Allison that sent that as well, and I do believe it was emotional blackmail on her part too. Yeah. Yeah, I mean not from the same not from the same perspective though, because she does want peace. She just wants Oh my god, I just want you to live. Please listen to me. This is my last desperate play to say to you we did love each other. Yeah, I mean this it's heartfelt. Please please accept it. Don't listen to my dad. He's a cunt. We know he's a cunt. Yeah, but it's me that's saying this, not my dad. Yeah. So things that stood out in this scene for me was in this moment when Lenia marches towards ripped the pin off them and all you know, all all the Kingsguard go for their swords, and it's the face off between the car Girl twins. There's just like you know, when they're looking back and forward to each other, and it's just like there's a tension there and like they don't want to fight each other. I do you know, I. Just wish Siaks had roasted them and that would have been that. Yeah, yeah, like that could have worked. But yeah, with the Cargyl twins, it's like in the books, the feet just put them on different sides, and in the show they've made it a choice. Yeah. In the books, I think Cargyl just end up as unitas Warren Sword just before Viceri's died, but and it was just fate that made it that way. But this time it's a choice. But just because they've chosen different sides, they don't want to fight each other. Yeah, And here they are, on like day one of being on different sides, face to face, and it's tense, it's very tense, but there's all this other stuff going on, So it's just like a couple of looks between them. But it stood out for me because that mainly because I've paid them so much attention just trying to figure out which one was bloody which. So yeah, they've got this line demon like talking about Alison, Oh her grace await short answer or something. Damon says she can have an answer now stuffed in her father's mouse along with his withered cock. Let's end this mummered fars. And that's a great callback to their previous episode in exactly the same place. Yeah, with Cyrax there, Rania there. Yah, they're facing each other off. They're having a similar conversation, a heated conversation. Yeah, everybody's got their hands on their swords and it's all very tense, and I'm we're also used the line mummers first in that scene, as we Damon she's using his words against him. Yeah, oh god, yeah, fairness, this is what maybe twelve thirteen years later, Oh yeah, well remembered demon Oh no more is because there was the ten year time jump, and then there was a six year time jump, so this is like nearly twenty years later. Yeah, because I don't think Egon was born or it was just born at this point, he would. Have been just born. Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely, so, yeah, you're talking like somewhere between sixteen and twenty years later. I don't remember what I did last week. I know absolutely, having some good scriptwriters helps. So yeah, they're they're all back at the castle and everybody's got their bloomen ideas and all the rest of it. And Ranina makes that statement about when dragons flew everything burned, don't want to rule over ash and bone, and she's so right. Yeah, it's like you just you're just fucking too trigger happy. Yeah, woar mungering at this point, you're just posturing and it's going to result in complete annihilation. Yeah, absolutely it is. And her father's ruled through such a peaceful time. She wants to carry on that legacy. Yeah yeah, definitely. Our father charged her with holding the realm together. Yeah, and Damon wants to burn the bloody world down. Oh he does, doesn't he It's very angry. So we then have this beautiful scene with Rainie's and Cordless absolutely love it. We've got to have it, do you know. It's just it always seems to be a Rainie's and Cordless scene that always makes it as well. Rainie's herself makes every episode. But if there's a Rainie's and Cordless moment, it's it always sneaks in there too. So let's play that clip. I understand we have a new king, that strange that costs a long shadow over this family. Your brother is also dead. In his haste to bury you and claim your seat, he stood before the king and announced laying your sons as illegitimate. She has a fantastic Walsh like characraming complex situations, and I'm nut yell for it. Heedless ambition has always been a Valerian weakness. Mm hmmm, I had noticed. You are right, Renness. I reached too far and for nothing. The pursuit of the iron throne. Is that an end we shall declare for no one. We were retired to high tide to be content with our. Grandchildren too well our claimants to the throne. Those boys will not be safe so long as that gone is King m. Er. I was complicit and our son's death. The girl destroys. Everything is holding the realm together at present, every man standing around the painted table and just had to plunge the realm into war. We're nearest the only one who's demonstrated restraint. The jeers is it cut sent me a scene of more people finding more ideas are of how they can destroy the world around them. Everybody seems so keen to use the dragons and they really should just be the last resort. Yeah. There's a part of this scene with Corlis where there's a little Lord of the Rings reference, and of course I would bring that up and Corlis says to. Rennie's you are no man, yes, and I just was like, oh, awesome, Owen, I am no man yeay to the which king of ang Marna, just like anyway, it was awesome. I love that part, of course I did. But she told him off, like you abandoned me. Yes, yes, I didn't play that part of the scene because it was a long scene. Yeah, but yeah, that was how the scene started. It's vallad to say, like, we lost both our kids and you just fucked off and left me deal with my grief alone. And yeah, you were a dick man. And I'm still standing here giving your respect. Yeah, so you need to listen to me now, because what I have to say is real. I've been here, I've been witnessing it. You were off dealing with your grief in your way. But I've been here, so you need to listen. Yeah. Absolutely, she called him as she does because she's fabulous. Yes, so the next time we'll see them all around the table again, enter Corless. He calls her princess first, yep, he does. But when he he says that you know you have my ships, my allegiance, he does color your grace at that point. He does. And I love the look on their faces when he's like in my almost demise with one of the stepstones. Yes, he can shut this ship down like the narrow Sea is ours. We can cut off their trade. We've got this girl, and they're. Like, brilliant. We never thought of that. But yeah, it's like I almost died out there. But guess what. We now control the step stones and that is pivotal. Yeah, absolutely pivotal. But the other thing that Damon is saying is right, is that the river lands are essential. Yeah, the riverlands are like the gateway to kings landing and they need that. Everybody's going to want that. Both sides know that this is essential to controlling everything. To win that area. You hold that ground or you lose it all. And Rania is. She's so focused and calm, yeah, and receptive but processing, which is great. And they've had this fight where he has her by oh yeah that was before this one. Yeah. And even after he's had her by the throat, she's still kind of is like, well he never told you, did he? And the smirk on her face she was like great, She's like ha ha, because he never ever went for you to be here. Yeah, she has that initial shock that, oh, ship, you're your stint at being here was just a placeholder. Yeah, because he never told you what really mattered. So yeah, that was great. I loved the moment when they were like, so if we can if we can cut off this little bit, we will control all the ships going in the King's landing, and rain He's just like, I shall take me. He's in control of the gullet to myself and I'm like yeah, and she's like I've got the go ahead, now I'm right in there. I love it. That is so good cordless scene where he's like he's the man, He's saying his thing and Rainy's is blurred. Yeah, and then Rainie's comes into shot and she has the rainy smirk. I told him to say that and then she's blurred again. Brilliant. Yeah, so good, she just comes out of her bloodiness in that moment. Yes, absolutely, So then things start getting serious there. Everybody's got a plan. We're going to get Barathians, we're going to get start, We're going to get and you know, mister Gerard is just like, I will send out the ravens, and Jasus has this brilliant light bulb idea and he'said, well, dragons can fly faster than ravens. We will go. It seemed like such a great plan. Yeah, and then they have that moment with their mother before they leave, and she makes them swear on the seven Pointed Star that they're going to to go just as messengers, just as envoys. There's going to be no fighting. And they really set you up to think that Jase is going to be the problem, Yeah, because he's hesitant to make that oath, whereas Luke didn't hesitate for a second. So they really set you up here thinking Jase is going to go and pick a fight, and yeah, that's that's not what happens. But before we head to Storm's end, you made a really good point during that last moment that we didn't really talk about that scene with Damon and Riunira. I think we should just give that a little bit of air before we move on. So, like, what do you think was going through his head there? Like, I mean, he's just he seems like he's snapped to me. There's no excuse for his behavior. There is no, absolutely no excuse at all. I can't even think what would be going through his head that he would think it's okay to do that. All through the season, we've seen him have this bond with Ranida. Yeah, as an uncle and more. Yeah, so that I've always had this secret club talking in Hyvalaria and it was very out of character, yeah for him and Rinia Yeah, and it was someone else and might not have been surprised, but with. Her, Yeah, it was very out of character. So now we hate him, Yeah we do. The real Royce thing was like, okay, that was that certainly turned my opinion off him, But I was still having likable moments with him. He was like that bad guy you kind of love to hate. He was funny, he had yeah, he had lines that were funny and stuff. But now they've written it that he is a knob. Yeah, he is he is a bad man once juror ship to Queen Rania, you'd ship forever. Yeah, definitely. And let's just go ahead since we're on our episode finale, our season finale, now we can go ahead and say, well, I've seen some hints in the trailers that that rift is going to get worse. It was inevitable, wasn't it. It was. So I've got a funny feeling that my days of liking Damon are over. From this point onwards, I think we're about to see a very very different side of him. Well, maybe not so different, but less of the likable. Yeah, yeah, for that guy you love to hate, you know. But yeah, that was that was really really he was from what I could tell, that came from a place of pure jealousy. Yeah, he realized there was a secret that he didn't know, really important secret, and he hated her for it in that moment, because you couldn't hate the series for it any longer. He was. He's in the middle of grieving the loss of his brother and then she said something that made him angry, and what happened next is just inexcusable, really, but I think that's where it came from. He always thought it was going to be able to be king, consort and manipulator. Yeah, and then found out ship that's that's not how it's going to go down here. No, it's definitely not. And she still didn't tell him, like you said. She kind of smirked it him a little like, ha ha, I know something you don't know. I have power over you now. Yeah, and she needs that because he's trying to take her power away. Another one trying to take her power away. They do that, don't they. Yep, fuck the patriarchy. So I think this brings us to those final scenes and I love that, just the whole setting of it, all the rain and the sun and lightning, and it's also dark and foreboding even from the moment look our eyes. At Storm's end, I get named like, oh, definitely definitely. The atmosphere is just so so bloody intense, and storms end itself again, got some cracking shots that castle. It's fucking impressive, isn't it. Yeah, it's really cool. He gets off the dragon and it's like the guards well he's not even also dragging it. The guards don't seem to be backing down, and he's a bit like, oh, there's supposed to be nervous surround my dragon. Yeah, and then why aren't they? And then do I get off the dragon? Like okay, well yeah, there's a big turkey neck over there. Oh get off the dragon. Oh God, that turkey neck. That turkey neck is more imposing than Storm's end at this point. I think it may be bigger than Storm's end at this point. A little preview of the dragon section. I couldn't leave that and said, no, no, no, it was apt to fit it in there. Absolutely, say it again in the dragon section. I'm like, well I deserves that definitely. So yeah, we look comes in and it's all about it's not very welcoming. No, no, it's not. And I remember that it was bormand Brathy in which I assume was his father, was the one that was sitting with Rinido when she was courting when she was on her tour. Oh yeah, and you know, he seemed like a decent guy, and like, obviously this guy's you know, this guy is like something out in Monty Python. He's hilarious. He's hilarious. I know, I have found him so funny. He was ridiculous. At one point, I was like, can this dude read clearly not Why is the Master reading this and then whispering? Is he just so pretentious? Or is he you just can't read what? I got a letterate vibe? Yep, yeah, I definitely got a letter vibe from that scene because he looked at it and he was like, what the fuck you know? But yeah, it was it was do you know what I say? Where's that damn meister or something to that effect. Oh my god, this is so what python I can't do? I think he I think he was trying to imply that he was too good to read it himself, but the fact is that he just couldn't. Yeah, yeah, there was definitely that. So yeah, I actually clipped this scene with luck. So let's play that and will be our last clip. Son, Princess Raniera the tag area. Queen, mm hmm lo, boris, I brought you a message from my mother, the Queen. Yet earlier this day I received an envoy from the king. Which is it. King or queen? The House of the Dragon does not say, but now who rules it? What's your mother's message? Where's the bloody nest? Yeah? Funny h bless the Master's wee feet. I didn't realize how much dead ordio there was in this scene. If you've seen it, though, you can totally unfolding it in Christmas definitely. Remind me of my father's oath. Can you go? At least came with an offer my swords and banners for a marriage pact if I do as your mother bit. Which one of my daughters will you win? And those daughters were. Like, no, I know, my lord, I'm not free to marry. I'm already betrothed. So you come with empty hands. Go home, Papa, and tell your mother that the Lord of Storm's End is not some dog that she can whistle up a need to set against her phones. Is that not what a bannerman is? Yeah? I shall take your answer to the queen. You can't even read. By you know. Yeah, I mean, I'm sure she wouldn't refer to you as a dog, but I'm pretty sure that's what she expects of. Yeah, yeah, exactly, you know, pledged loyalty, and you know, I'm sure sure that's what it's all about. I don't think he understands the concept that he clearly doesn't. Maybe you should read a book or two, you just do abs, Yeah, sing the song. So Amond absolutely takes it upon himself at this moment to be a complete dick. Oh, definitely telling me. What to carve his bloody eye out so as he can give it to his mum. Can talk about the sapphire eye. Oh yes, like, whoa, what that was? Like? I wasn't expecting that. That's pretty intense. That can't be comfortable, Like, you know, you know there's no eye there, but I mean there's still flesh around the eye socket that were this. I imagine there would be quite a lot of scar tissue from the blade wound itself. So I would imagine wedge that in between the scar tissue where there's no nerve endings. I would have liked to think. So otherwise you've gone way too deep into that. Yeah, I think you've thought about that a little too much. But yeah, well I was thinking about how uncomfortable that must be. But it looks pretty cool. Yeah, you know, if you've got one eye, you know, like jazz up the space. Yeah, oh dear, But yeah, that was pretty pretty intense. But he was he was like the fricking terminator the way he was coming out. Look there, at first, it was a pain in the urs it usually was. He was trying to be all like intimidating and I'm not gonna lie. It kind of worked. He was a bit He wasn't like. Borros was essentially like, pack it in, take it outside, because if your mum's find out, I'm. Fucked, now get the fuck out here. Well you go first. Actually I'll chum you out and you can wait here until he's gone. But stupid Boros didn't take into consideration that Vegar could catch Araks in about six wing beats. But did you not notice there was a moment where before Luke and Aras had even taken off, he looked over to where Vegar was and she's not there anymore. That was like, so like Amond must have been out the side door. Well, I mean if you were Borrows, and then are you going to argue with Aimond? Probably not. He's a mad cyclops. Yeah, we're Sapphire fake. I Nope. Now I wouldn't argue with him, and clearly Boris didn't either, but he did. I mean, like you said, he more or less said take it outside. Once it was outside his halls, He's like, not my problem, not my problem anymore, and that I thought it was just oh, it was so so moving. There was not a word spoken and you felt everything. Oh but you're laughing. Why are you laughing laughing at my note? What does your notes say? Shit? Rania is mad now? Oh god, yeah, because you're right. She just she. Even whispers to her. She turns her back, she walks towards the fire, and she kind of hunches down a bit and then stands back up and turned round to face and shot. And she's fucking pissed. I just wrote face, yeah, face. You guys are fucked now all big time. That is exactly what that scene left is all feeling for the last fucking two years. I'm going to bring this up in the dragon section because someone else had a similar face from a different perspective. Right, Okay, we'll get to that. But yeah, it's that realization of right, this is fucked now. Oh yeah, So this scene, you have got this beautiful music. The music's just just so so emotive, and you've got this slow motion of Damon walking over to tell her the bad news. He leads her away from the table a little bit and he's whispering to her. And while this is going on, it's all going through your head, what he's telling her, what she's been through. She's lost two kids and a father in a matter of days. Yeah, and this is her finding out about the death of the second She's also had her crown stolen from her yeah, by her brother. Yeah, and she probably feels super betrayed by Alison after that moment that they had. She was just going to drop her boys off and then she was going to go back to the Red Cape so they could spend some time together. She is holding her ship together. And I say it like that because I've all had those moments where we are holding our ship together. Oh. Yes, and yeah when she turned round, Fuck you guys, fuck this. Oh definitely. It was absolutely stunningly acted. It was fantastically acted. They were so so good in that moment. Yes, absolutely, face Yeah, yeah, I loved the scene. It really really sets you up for next season. Emma Darsay needs an oscar for face acting. Oh my god. Yeah, absolutely fantastic. And that brings us to our dragon section. Oh my god. It's the best dragons yet. They're so much So let's get into it starting with episode nine. Yeay, so Emma, you want to take this one? I know this is your scene that you've been looking forward to the most on our rewatch. Oh I love this scene. Mellie's just busts in there and they're smoke and dragon feet and. Screams and tail whips. And roars and panic and oh screaming. Open the doors, Open the doors. Helena. I was like this we not like told you so. Beneath the boards, I wrote that one too, so so good. Really fucking is I just wrot Mellie's fucking glass. Oh it's pure courage. It was so good. It was awesome. Oh definitely, And Rainie's just looks so fucking powerful sitting there staring them all down on the back of her dry They're all like, oh shit, is she going to say Dracara's Oh shit. Allison's like running in front of Egon and Mellie's is just like, oh my god, it's going to do Dracara's what was going to happen? And then it's just this big intake of breath and the roar and they all braced themselves. Oh shit. I have to say in that moment, Alison was accepting off her face. Yeah she was. She was just like, Okay, this is it. She just closes her eyes and waits for it, And despite the fact that she ran in front of Egon, Eagle was perfectly happy to be standing behind her. Yeah, I want my mommy, Oh dear. It was pure carnage. I loved it that just that moment as well. I often wonder this. It just reminded it screamed to me off the stept to bail Or in Game of Thrones, you know, when everyone's trying to get out and the guards are pushing back against the doors, and I'm just thinking that, like, why did they like just open the fucking doors, Like, seriously, what are the doors. Going to do apart from trap the people? And like Ellis has just burst through the floor, like little door. Is going to do. Definitely are you trying to let's trap us all in here with the mad dragon? And that's why, Oh, in his infinite wisdomb is just like open the fucking doors. Oh sometimes he is smart. In fact, all the time he's smart. Yeah, we might not like the things that he does, but he's very fucking smart. And in this moment, she's the dude you need to be listening to. Have you got any more notes from that scene? No? No, that that's my notes. All it was. It was so good. I just loved this, that commanding presence of Rainie's on the back of her dragon. I just oh it was. It was so good. So moving on because we've got lots of dragon stuff. Kraxies. Yeah, with the mar Brand and Darkland. When they're giving a choice, yes they are. What choice was that? They had no choice? No, there was no choice. There's choice was always times his entrances perfectly. There's like there's a psychic connection there going on, because there's there's a couple of times Karaxis has done that. Now he's nowhere to be seen, and just at the very right moment, he pops in and says hello. So yeah, loving the Karaxis entrance and the Queen of awesome entrances strikes again on the Dragon Bridge. Yeah, Cyrax, part two I've got Yeah, definitely, very very cool, very very very cool moment. This time a lot more fierce than the last though. Yes, I definitely felt that this time she absolutely meant business, not that she didn't last time on that bridge, but there was there's an extra edge to it this time, don't you think? Yeah, what other notes have you got? So the next dragon sighting. I think it was vermax Araxon. Was it Melly's. It was Melly's. Apaused it and I was like that dragon is red. Dragon is huge, huge compared to the other two, and that, Yeah, it was Mellie's. I'm absolutely certain of it. And they're all taken off to take do their part. Yeah. Yeah, she's away to patrol the gullet. I'm unclear on this part actually, because in the war room they said that Jace was going to go to the Veil of Aaron and then on to Winterfel, but she won't gave them one letter. Yeah, you know, so isy to reuse it. I'm unclear. I'm really uncle, That's that's what I'm bringing it up. I'm like, okay, so what's the message for Aaron? So what was the next dragon fighting in west of us? Well, it's demon singing to Vermathor it was, yes, and first of all, no bad voice, pretty tones. Yeah, yeah, he can hold a tune. But Vermo, oh my god, bada so big. Love the beard. Yeah, he has an awesome jaggy beard. I love it. He told bearded dragon vibes. Yeah, so I heard we're getting five new dragons next season. I'm unclear as to whether they have counted Vermouth or in the five. What if we're getting vermouthor and another five maybe? I hope so so looking forward to next season with new Dragons. But right now we have got those final scenes we have been before we Before we go any further, I'm going to re affirm how awesome Vegar's turkey neck was in that shot. That turkey neck. Wow. Wow. Indeed, Yeah, she is. I love the detail. I love that. I love that, you know, she's this property of this like old lady is awesome. She is an old dragon, and I love the the detail they've put into making her appear that way. It's really cool. God, the infamous Vagar and wow, she's just been around forever and that it's like super old grumpy lady, granny dragon. So a storm's end. It's not flying weather, is it? No, it's not. And poor little Larax is terrified. Definitely. You came along here earlier saying that this scene really got you because because you were flashing back to when you read it, and I think from what you said, I got the impression that you get a lot more of this dragon's fear, yeah, than what you see visually when you're watching it. Do you want to talk a little about. That, because I've read the book four and a half years ago now, Yeah, all I remember is it's more of the end of this scene. Yeah that it just gave me the book, just the whole Oh, but we'll get to that and why. I think in the show you see a lot more of Araks being terrified and Luceras trying to calm Araks down in the bond that he has with his dragon. They're both frightened and they're both trying to be there for each other, but more Lucera's trying to be there for Araks. Yeah, yeah, I got that. I definitely did those more. It's a very atmospheric scene. There's yes, there's thunder, there's Araks fighting the storm. Lasarius is holding on for his life, Yeah, trying to talk to Aax and Camaras down and you can hear Vegar those little rumbugs between the thunder and then the shadow and then the big shadow. There was a couple of moments before that big shadow moment where I thought I caught a glimpse of Vagar's shadow in the clouds. It was Vegar's Shadow was like Independence Day vibes. It was massive, it was it was so so, so spooky. It also reminded me when they went into the canyon, where Luis and Araks went into the canyon and vigars flying above reminds me of scenes from Firefly, although it was space ships not dragons, but same idea. You got the little ship and the big ship flying above because it can't get down there, and yeah, totally reminded me of those scenes. God, I love Firi Flight. You know, I'm going to make you watch that. By the way, You've got Aimon shouting and Hi Valaria and you owe me a debt boy, yeah. Which is also super creepy and imposing. Oh my god. It was like the It's just I'm just getting all sorts of like psychle coilor movies. Like I'm thinking he's channeling a little bit of Jack Nicholson there, He's channeling a little bit of the Terminator. Yeah, and Arax is feeling that too. Arax is absolutely terrified. He's in literal flight or fight mode. Oh, definitely, definitely. And unfortunately it does turn into a bit of fight. It does because we then get that unsanctioned Ricaris. Yeah, I mean Vagar really, oh my god, no, silly little dragon. Blue Cerus is like okay, okay no. And the second that happened, Amon feels the pool and the anger in Vigar, and it was the second that happened. Amon is like, Vigar no. At the same time Amond is going no, no no, I was going no no. No, even I know what's going to happen. Yeah, no, oh definitely just and my third watch, fourth watch, you know when I rewatched that scene just for fun. On top of that, every time you still no, no, no, don't do it, don't do it, and then you know they're flying away, and then I love that moment where the clouds break and they're just in beautiful sunshine. And I got to win an argument as well. Sorry. I was at my mum's last week and it was raining in the front and not at the back, right, And I came home and said to my partner and he totally didn't believe me. And he's like, and I'm like, well, it's got to stop somewhere, yeah, and he's like yeah, yeah, whatever. Shugged it off and then the conversation gets forgotten about and here we are a week later watching that scene and I'm like, see Scott end somewhere, so I went always. But anyway, I love the break in the clouds the blue skies, but you only get to enjoy it for five seconds. Matt, is that. And wow? That that moment? I mean, it's one bite, It is just one chomp, I wrote Trump It was unshy wrote just plucked out of the sky and gone yeah, and seconds. It was just so intense and amazing. Props to the CGI apartment for that, because it gets me every time. Not only have I seen it, however many times I've watched this episode for fun and for note taking, but I've also seen it in every bloody recap show or anything that I've watched as well. I've seen this scene over and over again, and every single time it never fails to shock. I just whoa. I still jump back in my seat every single time, like that Dragon's coming at me, just the way she bursts out of the cloud and it's just gone in a second. And then we have that horrible moment where Aimon looks and he's like, oh fuck, and then we see what he's looking at and it's parts of dragon, and I swear. I saw Look's body still intact. I think it looks full body, but I don't know. Yeah. No, Aimon is absolutely feeling that, Oh no, I've done it. Now I'm in trouble. I've totally fucked up. He really did fuck it. This is not what I intended. It is not and that was clear by his face. No one else other than the viewers is ever going to believe that. Yeah, but everyone that watches the show knows he did not mean that, despite what everyone is going to think. And I got the feeling that, like Damon, he will absolutely live up to whatever bad boy rep he gets from this. I also feel like that's a very Jamie Lanister thing as well. Yeah, he got this bad boy rep as being the kings Layer and he just went, fuck it. That's who I I'm now here. I'm just going to own it. And I think that's what Amon's going to do too, even although he didn't mean that, he really really didn't. So that brings us to the end of the dragon section. Do you have any notes, funny lines, quotes, anything like that. No, not this week. Okay, then that brings us to Irip. First of all, you say goodbye to Lyman Beesberry. Absolutely, that was that was a shock that one. He stood up looking fierce for what he believed in in his final moments and maybe he forever waffle in peace. Absolutely, oh oh, goodbye Beesberry. You will be missed. Played by Bill Patterson. Yeah, he was in one of my favorite nineties Roaddal adaptations The Witches. Loved that movie as I could, absolutely loved it. Wicked gross. Now actually, when you think about it, he was also an Outlander. He was Ned Gowan. He was absolutely fantastic Scottish actor and I will miss him on the show and we will miss Lymon Beesberry. Next we said goodbye to Lord kaswill wanna feel sad. But he was a bit of a cowardly piece of shit in these final moments. I think he was a master of his own destiny in the spirit of rip Well. Yeah, absolutely, he did have his good moments. He was one of the first to congratulate Rania and Lainer. Thank you. Yes, he was on the stairs when they had and she had just given birth to their baby minutes before and we're being dragged up the stairs. He was one of the first to congratulate. Not a nice way to go, No, No, definitely not. And whether or not it was Roddy made for his own back, it's still a horrible way to go. It is rest in peace, caswell. So our next one was Vernia and Damon's baby. Yeah, that was a tragic, tragic loss that I'm sure will be felt by those characters for many, many years to come, or however long they live. Because this is the dance of the dragons, after all. It is. Our next ip is Licere's Valerium. Absolutely he was. He was a brave we man. He was, he absolutely was. It's such a scary, scary final moments. All I can say is that it will quick. Yeah. I just hope he was dead before he fell. We can only hope. Yeah. He will be missed dearly by his mother and his brother, with his dad and his grandpa. Yeah. Absolutely, But this, this death is the death that starts a war. Yeah, And there will be repercussions and there will be consequences. This is where the dance begins, So rest in peace, theories. Our final rip is to Arax the Dragon. Yeah, another dragon down. It's but Arix was the first flying soldier to fall in this war, and brave, very brave if not a little stupid to take on Vaguer. Absolutely, but no laughing in the in the rip section, well kind of blew that last time. Yes, absolutely, rest in peace, Iras And that brings us to fun facts. It certainly does so for episode nine. The first one is a character error. Amon says that he's next in line to inherit the Iron throne after his older brother. According to the Western Rossi laws of inheritance, Amon would rank behind Agon's children, or at least his two sons, which I picked up one in the moment that he said it. It just didn't write it down, but yeah, yeah, that is like he's not next in line to the throne, as he claimed to Kristen and while they were looking for a goon. Yeah, that's quite right because Agon has two sons. Therefore, that makes Amond third in line of the throne. And that's only if they discount the daughter, which would make him fourth the lines of the throne. What's his plan? Well, well, indeed, so that was our first goof. Now we're onto some actual fun facts. So according to George R. R. Martin, it's really hard to say in a Scottish accent our our. George R. I stumble on this one every time, so I'm just getting out there in case any you have laughed at me before. We're saying we can cut the right, but say it's slower. George R. Our Martin, George R. R. Martin, George are our Martin right? Oh God? Totally tempt to believe this in because it's ridiculous. And this is what happens when it takes you six hours to do a podcast. Everyone I speaking now episode because you drank two bottles of wine. It's now three guys since nine. Hey, we didn't start a half ten. The intent was there at nine. It was so George R. R. Martin, that wasn't too bad. Egg on usurping the throne from Runia is based on the succession crisis after the death of Henry the First of England in eleven thirty five, who had named his daughter and only living legitimate child, Matilda, as his heir. The throne was usurped by Matilda's cousin, Stephen of Blois, who arrived He sounds like a dick almost you started by Matilda's cousin Stephen, who arrived in Wanton and was crowned while Matilda was away in on jow. Stephen's claim was backed by reports that the King had changed his mind on his deathbed and named him here. It's fun fat, it's to be funny. That's all right. I'm going to leave it all in except maybe this far. I'm so gone at the Stephen of blah b l o, I s blah blah. Right, okay, all right, Helene. Right, Oh, this one's a spoiler warning. We have a spoiler warning. Okay, we have like an alarm for that, like you get like a siren sounder. Yeah. I was going to do one, but I would sound like a wallly, So I'm not going to. Oh no, I'm sure I could find one in the sound effects back. We don't have to like make noisies anyway. Spoiler warning. Helena seems to be clairvoyant and potentially autistic in the preceding episodes and in this one. In the scene where Otto and Allison are looking for Eggon, Helena is snitching on what looks to be a spider, and she says to her mother Alison, there's a beast beneath the boards. This is most likely foreshadowing of Rainy's escaping from custody. At the end on her dragon Malle's. That one's boring. Lord Beesberry was younger on the show than he is in the books. Really, yeah, he was eighty in the book. All right, okay, he's six and seventy. This a huge show. Well, I mean, for goodness sake, there's not much in it, is there not? Really, they're really reaching there for a fun fact. Yeah. Well, then the next one is during the confrontation scene between Otto High Tower and Runia at Dragonstone. High Tower never mentions Allison's story that Viceeri's changed the succession to Agon on his deathbed. He says instead, in response to Rnida's citing the oaths of the Lord's paramount to her Stale else will not put you on the iron throne, Princess, The succession changed the day your father sired a son. I only regret that you and he were last to see the truth of it. This was arguably an open admission that he and the Small Council had usurped the Stone and had been planning to do so for years. Oh absolutely, Oh I cannot agree with that more. Yeah, I did notice, Actually I never thought about it again afterwards, didn't take note of it, but I did think that. I was like, he never actually outward says that said he's changed his mind. Interesting. The episode title the Black Queen refers to Ruanida's claims to be the queen of Western US and the leader of the faction called the Blacks. Okay, done with that, So we got what three actual fun fun facts out of that A lot of giggling. I think we had more fun than the facts, to be honest, I think we did. So that brings us to the end.
